[Go East]

[Episode 19]

Yuan Mo's such a scumbag.

I was just kidding before.

Actually, he's not scummy at all.

What do you think happened between

Yuan Mo and Yuchi?

Don't you know

Yuan Mo is pursuing Yuchi Hua?

What did you say?

Yuan Mo... is pursuing Yuchi?

This matter has become a big deal.

Everyone in Sifang Pavilion knows about it.

That old man was too cruel.

Even the ruler was broken.

The thing is I don't even know

why I got hit.

Right,

do you know why?

You were asking for a beating.

Wait.

What do all of you mean?

Don't you know

how Yuchi Hua is against me?

There's nothing in this world that can't be solved.

Now that I think about it, I'd rather not solve it!

You have food in your bowl but you're staring at the pot.

What are you going on about?

You like Ah Shu.

Don't think I don't know this.

I... I've never hid it!

I've always liked my Ah Shu.

So what?

Since you like Ah Shu,

why did you tell Yuchi Hua you like her?

Are you teasing Ah Shu

or teasing Yuchi Hua?

Are you sincere?

Men like you who toy with others' feelings

are the most despicable.

Wait, wait.

What did you say?

I said I despise you.

No, no.

You just said... You said I-I...

I...

I told Yuchi Hua I-I like her?

When? No way!

Are you sick? Or am I, or is she?

You're sick.

Have you completely forgotten what you did?

Everyone heard it on the night

of Ah Shu's naturalization ceremony.

Naturalization ceremony?

Don't go.

Yuchi!

Ah Shu?

What's up?

Hua.

I need to clarify something with you.

On the night of the naturalization ceremony,

what did Yuan Mo say to you?

Gosh darn it!

It's such a big misunderstanding.

Good luck to you.

So my Ah Shu

doesn't know that I like her!

I was still happy all day long!

So Yuchi Hua thought...

No, no.

I have to explain to her.

I have to make it clear!

Yuan Mo.

Your lunch box from Ah Shu.

Look.

My Ah Shu is still nice to me.

She even brought me a lunch box.

Where is she?

After I told her you like Yuchi Hua,

she left the lunch box and left.

Ah Shu!

Ah Shu!

Wait for me, Ah Shu!

Ah Shu!

Ah Shu!

Ah Shu!

Ah Shu!

Ah Shu, what are you doing?

Nothing. I should've moved out long ago.

Wait.

Y-You've been living well here.

Why are you moving out?

I'm free now.

I can go wherever I want.

It's inconvenient for you with me here.

I might even hinder you.

Ah Shu, did you hear something?

It's a misunderstanding.

That's not true, Ah Shu.

Don't you have a mouth? Then I'll say it for you.

Ah Shu.

I'm sorry.

I like your buddy Yuchi.

Ah Shu, it's a big misunderstanding!

That's not true!

There's no misunderstanding.

Yuan Mo.

From now on, you can hit your high road

and I'll cross my bridge of reincarnation!

Ah Shu!

It's the single-log bridge.

I'll cross whatever bridge I like!

Ah Shu, don't go.

Listen to me.

I like you!

I only like you.

It's never been anyone else.

I like how frank,

domineering,

and brusque you are.

When I first saw you, I thought you were special

and different from other girls.

Have you told Yuchi all this?

Yes.

I memorized it.

I've memorized it many times.

But what I want to say is...

At the city gate entrance...

I saw you for the first time.

In the vast sea of people,

I saw you at first sight.

I was happiest during the time

you spent in my home.

I want to be with you.

Ah Shu.

I want to teach you how to write and play Go.

I want to watch the stars on the lounge chairs with you.

I want to set off all the fireworks with you.

I want to drink with you,

make you delicious food,

and give all my money to...

Actually,

I already knew it.

Ah Shu.

Ah Shu, I have something to tell you.

Actually, I like...

This won't do.

Calm down. Calm down.

One more time.

I knew you liked me then.

But after hearing you say it again,

I'm still very touched.

Then...

So...

Can you promise me...

not to leave?

Really?

Awesome. Awesome!

Oh, right.

This is for you.

For me?

It's so beautiful.

Do you like it?

Let me put it on you.

Okay.

What a ruckus it was.

My father even beat him up.

I have to buy a bottle of wine for him

and apologize to him.

You've to get him a good one.

Who do you think fell in love first?

Some things happen before you know it.

Order doesn't matter.

You're right.

Finally, a trouble of mine's settled.

It's been a long time since I've shopped so freely.

I can enjoy it properly today.

We haven't sparred in a long time.

When will we spar again?

You'll lose no matter what.

How arrogant.

I'll spar with you after the five states' alliance is formed.

Deal.

Pinky swear.

Childish.

Pinky swear.

Young Master.

It's raining heavily.

Why don't we go back first?

Book me the best private room

in Wispy Pavilion.

Wispy Pavilion?

Such an expensive restaurant?

Just book it.

Let's go.

[Escape]

Stop the carriage!

Turn around and go back.

Let's go.

Give it to me!

Are you crazy?

How dare you drive in the busy city?

Move!

Sorry, sorry.

Madam Li. Madam Li.

Madam Li!

Why are you here?

Help! Madam Li is dying!

Come out first!

Guards! Take Madam Li to the hospital!

-Yes! -Yes!

Move! Make way!

What's going on?

What's going on?

What on earth happened?

Wasn't that the carriage of Yuluo Envoy's wife?

Why was this pretty boy in it?

Let's go back to Jingzhao Prefecture for interrogation.

I know him!

Isn't he the travel pass clerk from Sifang Pavilion?

Are they having an affair?

I've read it.

Dongyuan has no objection.

I have no objection.

It's perfect.

Yuluo has no objection.

That's great.

Please sign the agreement

and stamp your official seal.

My Lord!

Bad news.

What's wrong? Why are you so flustered?

Take me to Her Ladyship.

Lord Li.

Can you sign the agreement before you leave?

How dare Sifang Pavilion disrespect me?

Sign what agreement?

Goodbye!

Who can tell me what happened?

Why did Shen Bailian appear

in Madam Li's carriage?

It's all over the city now.

Everyone is talking about a Sifang Pavilion member

having an affair with a married woman.

How embarrassing.

Wang Kunwu!

Shen Bailian is under you. Tell me.

I'll give you an explanation.

Ji, why are you hiding?

You and Shen are the closest.

Don't you know he's close to Madam Li?

I haven't seen him these days.

I don't know who he's been spending time with.

You didn't see him?

Doesn't he have to work?

That's not it.

He used up

all his annual leave days in one go.

To hook up with a noble woman?

I've told him

not to hang out with those noble women.

But he didn't listen.

When he was imprisoned for fake goods,

that Madam Li personally

took him out of prison.

If I'd known

she was Yuluo Envoy's wife,

I'd have tried to stop him.

Don't act all righteous.

Even trying to distance yourself from it.

Didn't you ask Shen to go to Renyi Square to seduce noble women

to investigate the refugees?

What do you have to say?

Wang Kunwu!

Are you trying to ruin my plans?

-Let go of him! -Let go!

Talk things out.

-Let go of him! -Xiuyi!

Let go!

Mr. Yu.

I've convinced the three states to reach an agreement.

They were about to sign it.

But because of West Court's people,

Yuluo Envoy refuses to see me now!

If this keeps up,

Dongyuan and Xiyuan States will renege eventually.

I've been planning for so long,

but it was ruined by West Court!

Wang Kunwu.

Are you trying to obstruct me from getting

the greatest merit?

Watch your words!

West Court isn't that idle.

An Xiuyi.

You haven't investigated it properly.

What's with all these accusations?

Investigate?

Sure.

I'll investigate it now!

Where is Shen Bailian?

Enough.

Look at you. Ridiculous.

You always quarrel when something happens.

See?

The door is still open.

Aren't you ashamed?

Wang Kunwu.

It was caused by West Court.

You must investigate it thoroughly.

And you.

All of you are vexing.

Let me tell you.

If you dare cover up for Shen Bailian,

I won’t let you off!

[Prison]

I've asked him.

He won't say anything.

I hope you can make him speak.

Over there.

The higher-ups ordered for no visitors.

I'll guard the door.

Ask quickly.

Shen.

You're here.

Sister...

No.

How is Madam Li?

You still care so much about her in this plight?

What's your relationship with her?

There's nothing between Madam Li and me.

We're just...

just friends who get along.

I don't care if you get along.

But why must you hang out now?

As An Xiuyi was about to sign

an agreement with Yuluo, Xiyuan, and Dongyuan,

something happened to Madam Li,

and you happened to be in her carriage.

Shen.

I hope you can tell us

what you've done exactly.

Only then can we help you.

I...

Retainer Wang.

I promised Madam Li

I wouldn't say.

Do you know your current situation?

You created such a scandal

at a key moment for the alliance.

You'd be lucky to just be fired.

If Yuluo Envoy insists on punishing you,

just the count of adultery is enough

to sentence you to exile!

I...

Madam Li and I are like siblings.

I really...

can't divulge her stuff.

At least tell us what you can.

Where did you go?

How did she faint?

I really didn't know

things would turn out like this.

I've been there with her many times.

Nothing went wrong

in our previous meetings.

Where did you go?

We...

went to Wispy Pavilion together.

Wispy Pavilion?

Wispy Pavilion?

It's a new restaurant.

It only entertains nobles.

Commoners can't get in.

Madam Li loves their First-class Divine Soup.

She was ecstatic every time she finished it.

She said it made her feel like she was floating.

Divine Soup...

Ecstatic...

Feels like floating...

Shen.

After drinking the soup, did Madam Li's heart beat faster,

and did she laugh for no reason

and even hallucinate?

How did you know?

I suspect Madam Li was poisoned.

Poisoned?

What poison?

We need to go to Wispy Pavilion to figure it out.

Are you done?

Someone is coming.

You can't enter Wispy Pavilion.

It only receives customers introduced by regulars.

Their private rooms must be booked in advance.

If Madam Li didn't lead the way,

I wouldn't even know where the entrance is.

Wispy Pavilion?

Who wants to go to Wispy Pavilion?

Do you know Wispy Pavilion?

Yes.

An Xiuyi invited me to dinner at Wispy Pavilion tonight.

What do you want?

Tell me.

Why are you having dinner at Wispy Pavilion?

How do you...

None of your business!

Tell me the truth

or I'll punish you!

Are you threatening me?

I...

Ouch!

I'll tell you! I'll tell you!

I planned to celebrate at Wispy Pavilion after

the three states' agreement was signed,

but your West Court dragged me down...

-Get to the point. -Get to the point.

Point? What point?

What do you want to know?

Why did you invite Yuchi Hua to dinner alone?

Why?

We grew up together!

What's wrong with a meal together?

Do you know what kind of place it is?

Isn't it just a concealed restaurant?

It may be unusual to you,

but to Changle's nobles,

it's commonplace!

He doesn't know.

Let's let go.

I trust you for now.

But your private room is gone.

Wait, why?

Do you know how long it took to book it?

Forfeited!

If you want Yuluo Envoy back at the negotiation table,

be generous.

[Wispy Pavilion]

This collar's scratching my neck.

So rich people

live with their necks being strangled.

I'll help you fix it.

Much better.

Let's go.

Let's go.

How is it opened?

The door is so thick.

No one can hear it even if it's knocked.

Could there be a mechanism?

Look for it.

[Sweet rain and gentle breeze]

Secretive, indeed.

Do you have a reservation?

Yes.

I'm An Xiuyi.

I'm Yuchi Hua.

What's wrong?

Nothing.

Excuse me.

Please give me your hands.

Please come in.

What is this?

What is this?

I don't know. I can't see.

What does it look like?

Is it poisonous?

Sir, Madam, please.

It's quite unique with the flowers and plants.

Why did he leave?

I've never seen such a restaurant.

But...

Where's the menu?

This...

Where is he?

Waiter!

Waiter!

The service is bad.

So thoughtless.

What is this?

Someone's coming.

What would you like to eat?

Any specialties?

Specialties?

Do you want our special specialty?

That's what we want.

Got it.

First-class Divine Soup.

What is this First-class Divine Soup made of?

Is it as magical as the rumors say?

You'll know after you drink it.

To be honest,

since Duan of Inebriation Restaurant

transferred to our shop,

his First-class Divine Soup

has become our signature dish.

It's drawing more and more customers.

As for the formula,

I'm afraid only Duan knows it.

Okay.

I'll order this First-class Divine Soup.

As for the other dishes...

No need.

We've eaten.

Please enjoy.

Ah Shu, I'll drink it first.

If I'm poisoned, feed me the antidote.

No, you are so weak.

I've tried all kinds of poisonous herbs. I'll drink it first.

Feed me the antidote.

We don't know the dosage.

What if it's super potent?

I'll drink it first.

You can't take it.

I'll drink it first.

I'll drink it first.

Me first.

Me first.

Okay, you first.

Okay.

Okay.

Ah Shu.

The flowers.

Don't change the subject.

Drink it.

No.

The flowers have bloomed.

All bloomed.

What happened?

I don't know.

But it's so beautiful.

It's really beautiful.

You too.

Yuan Mo.

Are we poisoned?

I think so.

But we're still investigating.

Yes.

We have to wake up.

But I want to stay here forever.

Me too.

It's so comfortable here.

There's no rush then.

What's the hurry?

Wake up!

You're poisoned.

Get up now!

I haven't had the soup. How did I get poisoned?

They found out we were substitutes.

So the poison wasn't added to the soup.

It's in the charcoal!

Wormwood!

Wang.

Something is wrong with the chef Duan!

Get out of here now!

Don't run!

How dare you run?

You're the one who served the soup.

Tell me.

Did you add wormwood to the charcoal?

I’m innocent!

It wasn't me!

It really wasn't me!

It was Duan!

He said customers will keep coming after adding it.

It really wasn't me!

Manager, help me!

Duan.

How could you harm me?

Where is he?

Well...

I don’t know either.

The wormwood's usually added in the soup.

I told him the customers were substitutes.

It really has nothing to do with me.

Do you have more wormwood?

Yes.

But he always took it behind my back.

I don't know where he put it.

Let's go!

Take us to Duan's home.

Get up!

-I... -Go!

Duan just got this job

and stays in this warehouse for now.

Alright, it's none of your business.

Wait outside.

Okay.

Wang.

There's a locker here.

Excuse me.

This is it.

This is wormwood?

This is the powder extracted from wormwood.

It can make you forget your worries

and hallucinate

so you'd meet the person you miss the most.

Wormwood doesn't originate from Yong.

As a chef,

how'd Duan get wormwood?

It’s profitable.

It must've been

secretly transported into Yong.

Put Duan on the wanted list.

We must find the person behind the scenes.

[Yuluo Embassy]

What is this?

This is wormwood.

Wormwood?

Duan of Wispy Pavilion

puts this in the soup to attract customers.

Those who take it

will temporarily forget their worries

and hallucinate

such that they see whom they miss.

You mean my wife was poisoned with wormwood?

Madam Li's symptoms that day

perfectly matched those after overdosing

on wormwood.

My Lady.

What's going on?

At this point,

I won't hide it from you anymore.

I can't let go of Kuo'er.

We once had a son

named Kuo'er.

Because we were always away

and didn't discipline him well,

Kuo'er died in a fight.

My husband treated him as the shame of the Li family.

But I'm his mother.

He was in my womb for ten months.

He was my beloved child.

I couldn't let it go.

I once thought of doing the unthinkable to reunite with Kuo'er.

It was Shen...

who kept trying to comfort me.

That's why I didn't kill myself.

I was then introduced to Wispy Pavilion.

I just wanted to meet my Kuo'er more.

There's nothing between Shen and me.

We're just friends.

I couldn't talk about Kuo'er to anyone.

I could only tell him.

He's also the only one...

who could understand me.

What happened that day did attract gossip.

If you think I've disgraced Yuluo,

please...

divorce me.

I didn't pay enough attention to you.

It's my fault.

But I really miss him.

I...

I can never see him again.

Lord Li.

When Madam Li showed signs of poisoning that day,

Shen was rushing to send her to the hospital.

That's why he violated propriety.

Please forgive him.

I wronged him.

Please pass my gratitude and apology

to him.

I will write a letter to Jingzhao Prefecture

to keep him safe.

Also,

I’m willing to sign an agreement with Yong again.

-Thank you, Lord Li. -Thank you, Lord Li.

[Sifang Pavilion]

W-W-Where are we?

Retainer Wang.

[Huaiyuan Hall]

Come on.

Come on.

Thank you.

With the gods' blessing,

you're invincible.

Turn calamities

into blessings!

Shen.

I know you grew wrinkles inside.

So this facial mud mask

is a gift from your buddies.

Me! Me!

I contributed the most!

Alright.

I'm sorry

for making you worry.

Hey...

Why are you telling us this?

Welcome home!

-Welcome home! -Welcome home!

Welcome home!

West Court comrades!

Shen!

You're out.

Retainer An.

I'm really sorry.

Actually, I...

Since Lord Li has agreed to the alliance,

let's not bring up the past.

I was mad at the problem last time; not at you.

Don't take offense.

I've to thank you for your private room.

You didn't have your meal,

but luckily you didn't.

He didn't say anything nice.

Ignore him.

He's always been like that.

-Alright! -Come on!

-Alright! -Let's go!

-Go in! -Go!

Alright, don't take it to heart!

Yeah!

-Let’s celebrate! -Drink more later!

Your Highness.

To think the amateur wine in a deep-alley shop

would taste so sweet.

I couldn't help but have a few sips.

Your Highness.

You...

Your Highness.

Go...

Go get my hangover soup in the carriage.

Yes.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Your Highness!

Help! Help!

Help!

Someone fell into the river!

Make way.

Sifang Pavilion.

What happened?

So many people.

The deceased wasn't wearing Yong's clothes,

and he had something valuable on him.

So I told you to rush here.

Can you identify him?

When he fell in, his head hit the rocks.

He's too badly mutilated to be identified.

How is it?

He's unrecognizable.

I can't identify him.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Let me in!

Isn't that Duomi's bodyguard?

-Your Highness! -You can't come in!

-Why's he here? -Let me in!

Let him in.

Your Highness!

His Highness?

Your Highness!

You mean he is Prince Duomi?

How do you know he is your prince?

This wolf tooth

is a gift from his parents.

His Highness always wears it.

It can't be wrong.

Your Highness.

I deserve to die, Your Highness.

How did your prince fall into the river?

I don't know.

His Highness drank too much last night

and asked for hangover soup.

So I went to get it from the carriage.

But when I came back, he was already missing.

Your Highness...

Your Highness...

I’ve seen this canister before.

During the search of wormwood,

there was a same one in Duan's room.

It's wormwood.

Why is Duan's item among the evidence?

Did Duan... kill the prince?

Regardless,

Prince Duomi's sudden death in the river is a big deal.

I doubt the alliance will work out.

Lord Ao.

You are...

Duomi! Duomi!

You left so suddenly.

[Sifang Pavilion]

Mobei was hesitant about the alliance to begin with.

Duomi's accident gave them more excuses.

I'm afraid the five states' alliance won't work out.

We just placated Lord Li,

and now Prince Duomi's dead.

Are you sure there's no conspiracy behind this?

Duomi! Duomi!

The heavens are unfair!

How can I explain to Khan that

our state's jewel has perished here?

I failed my duty as the Mobei Envoy.

I should just die too!

Lord Ao, sorry for your loss.

We also just found out

Prince Duomi died

after drunkenly falling into the river.

How is that possible?

Why'd he fall into the river?

He must have been murdered!

This matter needs to be verified by Jingzhao Prefecture

before a conclusion can be drawn.

Vice Minister An.

Save it with the formal talk.

When Yong wanted to ally with Mobei,

nothing was off-limits.

Now that there's trouble, you're all about bureaucratic procedures?

Prince Duomi was killed in Yong State.

Mobei will never ally with Yong State

ever again.

Just give up!

You have ten days to hand over the murderer

and account for this.

Otherwise, we won't let this go easily!

Poor Prince Duomi.

Wait, Lord Ao.

Wait.

You left so suddenly!

It's a lose-lose situation for us!

Even if we find the murderer within ten days,

Mobei still won't ally with us.

No.

They'll agree to ally with us.

Didn't you hear it?

Lord Ao just said that

since Prince Duomi died in Yong,

he won't agree to an alliance.

As long as we find the murderer,

I can make Lord Ao return

to discuss the alliance.
