But we got a bag of tricks, kamilla and I.

And I think that we've
worked well together.

So, my... Number one ally in this game,

Thomas, went home
because... Kyle had an idol.

I didn't think he did, and that's my fault.

California girls didn't
even last one tribal, man.

It's such a bummer.
It's such a good alliance.

Honestly, I was thinking
about going with you guys.

And then I came back, and, like,

it looked like somebody
had gone through my bag.

At that point, I was like,
"I'm pretty sketched."

Kamilla and I

pretty much just put on a
master class in deception.

They did not see this coming at all.

They even went through
my bag, and somehow

didn't find the idol that was
tucked away in my shoe.

So I'm pretty pumped about it.

And it was all because I put
on my acting hat with kamilla

and convinced them
that we're not that tight.

And it worked.

It's like when we're all having
those private conversations,

I was being 100% genuine.

You see the conflict in that, right?

I hear exactly what you're saying.

You're like, "trust is
important in this game."

But, Joe, you know I like talking with you.

I think we have some
sort of relationship there.

Of course.

I'm trying to do damage control.

Because if we come
back to tribal council,

we don't have kamilla's extra vote

that I unfortunately had to burn tonight.

Plus, without the immunity
idol, I'm vulnerable,

because now we're in this situation

where there's a two-two deadlock.

And that's really scary.

I want to put this behind me.

Personally, I feel like I
already bonded with you guys.

I feel like when you

and I have to trust new people
and I have to play my game.

We learned a lot at the challenge.

The fact that Thomas went home

it changes everything.

The original plan was to take out Bianca

because we wanted to
weaken the old lagi tribe,

but now with Thomas
gone, we have a little bit more

flexibility.

Honestly... I want Bianca to stay.

I like her, too.

At this point, sai is
causing so much chaos

that there is really no way that

I want to work with sai moving forward.

And I genuinely enjoy
Bianca as a person.

She's just good people.

I think if me and you make
it past the merge together,

I think we can both
really help each other out.

I would love to work with you.

makes sense for us to
keep each other safe.

but even though I don't fully trust him,

for the sake of getting off of
this beach and to the merge,

slip into heaven when we go in there.

I don't think I've ever felt such a high.

I really don't. That was probably

the best glass of milk I've ever had.

It's a little dicey, because the narrative

that kamilla and I are spinning

is still that we're not that tight.

But at the end of the
day, winning that challenge

at least allowed us to

this good in nine days.

It's crazy when you think, like,

how we're doing this right
now. It's been ten days, right?

It's amazing what you can do
if you just put your mind to it.

crazier... than this.

That's-that's, like, the gnarly part.

Yeah. My dad went through way worse

in the, like, Sri Lankan
civil war/genocide.

His family survived that.

- That's what keeps me going.

When I draw on hard times out here,

my first thought is, my mom and my dad

have been through so much worse.

I am the proud son of two refugees

who came here during
the Iranian revolution.

My dad was in the imperial air force

under the shah of Iran.

A lot of the pilots were already in jail,

and they released them from jail

to go fight against Iraq.

So his helicopter went down

and it landed on the border of Iraq.

And so, captured, and...

Not-good things happen
when you're captured in Iraq

- in 1979.
- Wow.

My family... my dad was okay

because he had left the country

prior... like, at the
start of the civil war.

But every time he came back,
it was, like, mad security thing.

'Cause here's the thing
with people in Sri Lanka.

There's, like, a majority ethnic group

and a minority ethnic group.

We were part of the
minority ethnic group.

You can't tell who's who.
It's, like, a religious thing.

You just speak a different language,

have a different religion,

and this is what you all
are killing each other over.

And so every time my dad
was coming in to visit his family,

they would pull him over

'cause they thought he
was, like, on the other side.

And I'm like, "isn't that so stupid?"

- Dumb.
- See, that,

what our parents get through,
you know? Like, my dad,

he was born in '45.

So go back '50s and
'60s, and this is in Virginia.

And his family was sharecroppers.

So he was picking cotton when
he was probably about five or six.

My mom, blonde hair, blue-eyed woman.

My dad is really, really dark-complected.

Isn't that crazy?

This was happening
in the '40s and '50s?

- Yeah.
- My god, yeah.

People try to talk about, like,

- Jim crow and, like...
- Like it was so long ago.

And, like, all of those things

like it took place hundreds
of years ago. Like...

So anyways, I know
what you guys are saying.

Like, what our parents go through is wild.

- Yeah.

At the last tribal council,

we voted against each other,
and we were definitely like,

two versus two.

Just two completely different
groups of people going at it.

And after that shared meal today,

all those struggles sort
of, like, bond us together.

you're gonna leap into the
ocean and swim to shore

while pulling a boat containing a chest.

You'll then carry that chest up the beach

and work together to
unbraid three long ropes,

releasing a key.

You'll use that key to unlock the chest.

Collect the balls inside,
then dig under a log.

When you reach the finish,

each tribe member is responsible

for maneuvering one ball
through the table maze.

First two tribes to finish win immunity,

guaranteed to see day 12.

Losers, tribal council, where somebody

will be the fifth person
voted out of survivor 48.

And as a penalty for
losing, I will keep your flint.

So, can we talk about

what happened at the
end of the challenge?

'Cause I think this is a sign

of where survivor is when it's great.

Normally, when a challenge ends,

we keep the tribes separated.

But I think everybody here saw

that something really
powerful was happening.

Eva was struggling,
emotionally struggling.

Clearly, there was a connection
with a former tribe mate in Joe.

I felt it was okay for me
to suggest they hugged,

and I could tell everybody agreed.

But Joe, the other thing
that's happening there is

relationships are being
revealed. You clearly

have a relationship with
Eva that matters to you.

So why was it important for you, Joe,

to reveal part of your game
and go give comfort to somebody

who is on the other tribe?

Jeff, you know, all my kids watching me

I'm gonna be the man I want them to be

and the people I want them
to be, regardless of the game.

And that's what you
do. And that's who I am.

So if it exposes it, it exposes,

but she was in need,
and I would want someone

to treat my daughter
that way in this game.

For sure. For sure, Joe.

Absolutely.

Eva, what was happening for you?

Yeah. I'm-I'm ready to
tell my story to everybody.

This is something

that's really, really important to me.

I have autism.

I was diagnosed when
I was very, very young.

Doctors told my parents

that I would never live independently,

that I would never
hold a job, that at most,

I could hope to marry
someone else with autism.

And my parents... they
did not give up on me,

and they put me through
so many different treatments

to help me get all the
support that I needed.

And I was able to

then enter school and be mainstream.

So I've never viewed my
autism as a roadblock to success.

It's not something to work around.

It's just part of who I am.

There's nothing bad about it.

But I still have so many things

that I struggle with, with my autism.

I have these things
called "episodes" where,

when I get extremely overstimulated,

I will get ungrounded,

and I'll lose control of myself.

And luckily, I was able
to still finish the challenge.

I can't believe I finished it.

I can't believe that happened.

But when I did finish it, all of a sudden,

everything just came over me,

and I got extremely overwhelmed,

and I started screaming,
and everyone saw that.

And I know nobody else knew
what was going on, but Joe knew,

because I needed someone in this game

to understand what was going on

in case something happened.

And that means the world to
me, and that's beyond this game.

We're on different teams,

but he was willing to
make sure that I was okay.

Please, let's take a
step away from the game

and understand that this is something

that I deal with, with my autism.

And everyone who has
autism should not be ashamed

to ask for help and ashamed to receive it.

So, thank you all for
allowing this to happen,

allowing him to come and help me,

and just supporting me in this.

but seeing that I'm strong.

I've never, like, hated
myself for having autism.

This is special about

There's so many

This game just makes you feel all types

of so much emotions.

For me, it all just started making sense,

because I can relate, 100%.

I have family members on the spectrum.

So, with that being said,

I understand her completely.

I go off of trust and loyalty
and what I think is friendship.

And today I just had to
take a step back and say,

"let me be open."

All right, y'all, I want to play
a clean game, and in order

to play a clean game,
you got to tell the truth.

I have the beware advantage.

- Ooh!
- Really?

I knew it! I asked you about it.

My god. You're such a good liar.

You have it now?

I have it. I just don't know how to do it.

We've known since, like,
day three that star had

a scroll, cylinder thing of some sort

that has letters and symbols
based on the animal signs.

- Could it be... - Yeah.
- "I."

Once she's revealed it,

we all go on a walk around the jungle

trying to decode what her scroll says.

- That's an "s."
- Star couldn't figure out

this beware advantage.

And so, naturally, she
comes to everyone and says,

"I have this beware advantage.

- I need to figure this out."
- "L."

So there's a lot of options
going through my head.

I see the "I," I see the "n,"

I see the "I," I see
the "e," I see the "t."

I see the "s." What does it mean?

I don't know,

but I want to be the
first to figure it out.

Wait. I have an idea.

Once I found out that this
is what needed to be done,

I was like, "I am
going to figure this out."

I had some good guesses
with "inlets" and "listen."

Or like, an "est" word. "Linest."

I just keep swapping the letters around,

and finally, I stumbled across the word...

Silent?

- Silent.
- Ooh, yeah.

I did it. I did it, I did it!

I did it! I did it!

- My god!
- Eva! Yes! Yes!

What a day for Eva.

- Yes.

It was "silent." It was "silent." Silent.

Wow.

That was not a silent celebration, though.

because she opened it,

so she earned it.

Kind of like a truce.

her idol, which is huge.

I never would have seen
this change of events.

Like, I know survivor
has ups and downs,

but I didn't realize they
would come this close together.

That's this game, and I feel stronger

coming out of this than anything.

Like, I feel supported,

and I feel just ready to get after it.

I mean, I practiced swimming,

but I never practiced swimming

with a boat on my back, you know?

Knowing I'm going to my
first tribal is absolute dread.

I have a pit in my stomach.

How do I convince them
that I have power and a say

when I don't have a vote?

This is a predicament.

Thank you, Jeff. Like, this is hard.

But I think I have a plan.

Can I be really honest with you?

- Yeah.
- I'm just gonna throw it all on the table,

'cause I really like you and I
really want to work with you.

- Like, I mean it.
- Yeah.

They have been telling
me they want sai out.

- Mitch and Chrissy?
- Right.

But it makes more sense
for me to work with you two.

I know that Chrissy and
sai are butting heads.

Like, they're annoyed with each other.

So my plan is

pitting the two sides against each other.

Yeah, very.

- I don't know who to trust.
- Okay.

But the numbers that make
sense for me are voting Chrissy.

By pitting these two
sides against each other,

we have two votes that go on Chrissy,

we have two votes that go on sai,

and then there are no more votes.

And when you revote,
I'm not up for debate.

It's only going to be a vote

for either Chrissy or sai.

These are just risks I have to take.

Like, I don't have a vote.

I'm writing Chrissy. I'm not wavering.

And-and... yeah. Yeah.

I think they're pulling him in.

That's what I also am worried about.

- Like...
- cedrek is loyal to a fault.

He will go where the numbers are

as long as it's not him.

Cedrek, a lot of the
times, feels like that dog

that almost doesn't know
how to walk on a leash,

that you're, like, dragging down the street

and you're still trying
to train him to walk,

but for some reason,
he's just not game to do it.

But on this beach,

for the sake of getting to the merge,

I am locked in with cedrek and Bianca.

But I'm not a dummy.

Cedrek voted for me twice.

If he can do it once, he can do it again.

Seems like we got cedrek on board.

I absolutely trust him.

He's not the type of person

that will look you in the eye and lie.

If he sticks with sai,

play the game, you know?

So Mitch and Chrissy

actually did loop cedrek into this plan

and told him we want to vote sai out.

This is great.

Mitch, Chrissy, cedrek all vote sai.

No one ever knows I don't have a vote.

Chrissy just came up to me and said,

"cedrek is voting sai."

I wish I could tell cedrek,
"I don't have a vote.

Can you guys all please vote
for sai and keep me here?"

But I can't do it.

I cannot trust that
they won't just be like,

"well, why are we keeping
her here instead of you?

Like, let's just get rid of you then."

- Let me ask you this.
- Yes.

Are you trying to work
with sai in the future?

At some point, it's gonna be a liability.

Right.

So, no, that's not, like,
my end goal, because

- I'm still not sure she...
- Is a...

- Trusts me all the way.
- Yeah.

Because I've written her name down.

Once scorned, it's hard for...

- Right.
- To kind of bounce back from that.

But for now, I'm writing
Chrissy's name down.

Cedrek says he is

That means it's a tie vote

This game is out of control.

Right now, my plan
is that we get to tribal,

Mitch and Chrissy are voting sai,

sai and cedrek are voting Chrissy,

we have to do a revote.

And then I'm banking on the fact

that cedrek is going
to flip and vote for sai.

I'll be really, really proud of myself

if I make it through
tonight, but it does worry me

because I'm gonna have
a lot of damage control

to do when I get home.

"Tomorrow, cedrek's gonna
think, "Bianca's a class a liar.

She lied through her teeth to all of us."

So... My gut says keep it to myself,

and then my second gut says tell cedrek.

The only reason I'm telling you this

is because I'm trying to
build some trust with you.

Like, if you run back and
have a conversation with sai,

- look, I won't.

I'm freaking out 'cause I
didn't want to tell anyone.

We're, like, really
trying to work together?

The reason I'm telling you this

is because sai was going home tonight.

- That's why I'm telling you.

So, I really hope you can just respect

that I told you the truth

- and just go with the plan - okay.

To get this type of
information just minutes before

we're going to tribal council

it puts so many wheels
spinning in my head,

because if I stay silent,

I can go along with
this plan and vote out sai

or I could turn this all
around back on Bianca.

In one way, I'm feeling
relieved that I feel like

I actually know all the information.

I just have to decide
which one of these options

makes the most sense
for me and the people

that I've come to trust in this game.

If this is your first time
to tribal, grab a torch,

dip it in and get fire.

This is part of the
ritual at tribal council,

because in this game,
fire represents your life.

When your fire is gone, so are you.

So, cedrek, of the five tribal councils,

you and sai have been to four of them.

Arguably, you've spent
as much time at tribal

as you have at a tribe camp.

So do you become smarter about how

to use tribal to your advantage?

I mean, it's a gift that
you don't expect to get.

It's understanding the
bleakness of the situation,

and that experience allows
you to be that much more wiser

to fight in this game another day.

Sai, you were nodding during that.

Yes, you inherently know what to expect,

but you also know what to look out for.

You make sure that you're looking at

who's walking away
with who, you follow up

on the conversations you feel
like you needed to follow up on

earlier in the day, whereas
somebody who's never been before

might not capitalize on that time.

So, Chrissy, what is the tribe dynamic?

You have three different
tribes represented.

Sai and cedrek, you
and Mitch, and Bianca.

Right. It's a two-two-one.

You would think that it
would be an easy vote.

What would be the easy vote?

Well, the easy vote

would be the-the one, obviously.

Cedrek, is it fair to say that Bianca

is in the center of this storm

- or is that too simple?
- Well, literally,

we have her sitting in the center

of this situation right now.

But I think it's a bit
more complex than that.

I mean, on the outside,
you can certainly look at this

and say, "here's our target."

But we know survivor is
way more complex than that.

Mitch, do you agree with that?

Yes, if you look at the five of us,

it makes sense to get
Bianca out of this game.

But we've seen enough seasons

where the underdog
tribe has an incredible shot

at doing really well in this game.

Sai, he's talking about you and cedrek.

You lose, you lose, you lose,

you lose, but for those few
who survive all the losses,

a bond can form that can be very strong.

Bonds aren't always forever.

Sometimes there's cracks

where people who are
actually good players

can slither their way in to things.

I think tonight is gonna
be a true test to see

who's been having the
conversations that not only

make people feel good
but also feel genuine.

That's really important.

So, Bianca, Mitch mentioned

that maybe the smart
thing is taking you out.

Yeah. I'm sitting here terrified.

And it makes sense.

All I can say is someone's
at the bottom of four.

If one of you use me, that's a three.

- And that's the pitch.
- Cedrek,

it's a pretty clean pitch.

- That's certainly one option.
- It's just a matter

of which option do you
take at the right time,

making sure it gets you
further into this game.

So, how do you balance the complexity

of reevaluating and
looking at these options?

I mean, it could be something
as simple as a glance

that can make you question an alliance

that you thought you
had, and it's not always

the big, open thing that you see.

It's the small nuances
that can make a difference

in how you proceed and play this game.

Mitch, ring true to you

sometimes it's just a head nod?

Honestly, I have no idea.

I've never been here before, Jeff.

But relationships matter in survivor.

You got to trust the
conversations that you had

up to this point.

Chrissy, did you have a
conversation with Bianca

about this idea of, "why
don't you just take me?"

Yes, we did. Whether she,

you know, is lying or
telling the truth, I don't know.

I think we might have something,

but I have a paranoia, you can call it.

Hopefully, you know, my gut

tells me the right way to go.

Sai, Chrissy's speaking the
same language you speak,

which is, "I hear everybody talking,

but something in my belly's rumbling."

Yeah, she's saying
my favorite word: "Gut."

Trusting your gut in
this game is important.

But trusting your gut in a
game where you don't have all

of the information that you need
can sometimes be dangerous.

And I've been on the
receiving end of that.

And it backfired.

So, is that a warning

to Chrissy, or is that just some
friendly advice to consider?

I think it's more friendly
advice to consider.

I'll consider it.

Just saying. But we'll
find out soon enough

who was looking you in the
eye and lying and who wasn't.

Bianca, this, emotionally,
feels like you all are

in a small room to begin with,

and slowly, the walls are closing in

and you're all trying
your best to not panic

that you're gonna get the
life squeezed out of you.

Yeah. You know, you have

the conversations you have

and you try to hold on
and push against the wall

- right.
- And just think, "I'm gonna be good."

But it's human nature.
You second-guess.

I feel like I have 16
guts I've been relying on.

It makes me just hope that

whoever I had those conversations with

trusts what I said.

I just can't have a dynamic duo

making it too far into this game.
