Peacock in Wonderland

Episode 22

It's really a good idea.

In my hometown,

this is easy.

If you want to learn,

I can teach you more.

So,

please teach me the etiquette related to the ceremony.

I won't go back on my word.

So many?

I have to memorize all these?

You just need to memorize

the procedures

and congratulatory words I marked for you.

Deliver the Imperial Jade Seal. Hail.

What is this?

This is too hard for me.

Although the congratulatory words are like a tongue twister,

the ceremony is quite simple.

There is no music or banquet.

I was thinking about holding a grand ceremony

for Young Master Rong.

You can't.

It's still the mourning period for Master Rong.

The succession ceremony of Young Master Rong

has to be simple.

Fine.

Just continue to recite them.

If there is anything you don't understand,

I'll be right beside you.

Deliver the Imperial Jade Seal.

What is the first line of the succession ceremony?

Yanxia Shop

Yu?

Why are you here?

What are you embroidering?

The embroidered phoenix on the wedding dress.

It's only a few stitches away from completion.

I can speed it up.

Wedding dress?

I'm not making this wedding dress

because of the last wish of Master Rong.

She asked me to make it long ago.

I appreciate her care,

so I want to fulfill her last wish.

I don't want to force you.

Even you know

you should fulfill my mother's last wish.

But as her daughter,

I've been hesitating.

Yu,

what do you mean?

Nothing.

Yu,

do you have something to tell me?

Now I don't.

Well...

I have something to tell you.

I've liked you

for many years.

I guess you've noticed it.

But I don't want to go against your will.

I know

you don't like me.

So, don't take the last wish

seriously.

We grew up together.

We've known each other for so many years.

Actually, even I don't understand

my feelings for you sometimes.

How can you be sure

I didn't like you

and I wouldn't like you in the future?

I don't want to force you.

I know what to do.

It's late.

Don't hurt your eyes.

Embroider it tomorrow.

You're here.

Why did you ask me to come here?

I thought about it yesterday.

I think

we can incorporate some details into the ceremony.

The procedures are fixed.

We can't change them randomly.

But the ceremony is too cold.

It has no human touch at all.

So I'm thinking...

Young Master Rong just lost her mother.

If

we take some of Master Rong's things to the ceremony,

it can not only represent inheritance,

but also offer her some comfort.

Okay.

You can only take one.

I'm relieved now.

Since

you've memorized

the ceremony's procedures,

according to our agreement,

you should teach me some new knowledge.

Okay.

People should achieve comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, and aesthetics.

Today, I'm going to teach you something in physical fitness and aesthetics.

What does... that mean?

Despite my lack of coordination,

I was

my mom's square dancing partner.

Trust me.

Ready, go.

Be gentle. Follow my lead.

One.

Two.

Three.

Yes, relax.

One.

Two.

Gosh, what am I doing?

I almost kissed him.

Thank you, Holy Envoy.

You're welcome.

-Well… -Well…

-I'll... -I'll...

How's your learning, Holy Envoy?

Don't worry.

I've learned it.

Okay.

I'm going to give you a test.

Please show me

the ceremony's procedures.

The officials enter the hall.

The master sits on the throne.

Present the Imperial Jade Seal.

Kowtow four times.

Hail.

Kowtow four times again.

Not bad.

How many steps should be taken to present the Imperial Jade Seal?

Well...

Six... steps?

You are really smart.

He Huan, you've taught her well.

I learned it myself.

It has nothing to do with him.

What nonsense are you talking about?

That's not nonsense.

You wanted to embarrass me, right?

Now you want to take the credit.

You...

Enough.

Holy Envoy, you should review the etiquette

and prepare for the ceremony.

Your Excellency, you deserve your reputation.

You're amazing.

You've learned it on your own.

Of course.

After all, I took the college entrance exam before.

But...

still, it was all thanks to my teacher.

If it weren't for him,

I couldn't have learned it

within just a few days.

I think Lord Li always cares about you.

The prayers you recited every day

were written by Lord Li personally.

Could it be...

Lord Li

likes you?

No.

Don't mention it.

Stop thinking about it.

I was mistaken a few days ago.

It was so awkward.

Bro,

in my opinion,

I shouldn't think too much.

Flattering myself is terrible.

Otherwise, we can't even be friends.

What about you?

What are your feelings for Lord Li?

My feelings?

Forget it.

Since he has no feelings for me,

my feelings are not important.

You're holding the book upside down.

My Lord,

I've searched all the flower shops in the city.

Before Master Rong died,

none of the flower shops in the city sold these three kinds of flowers.

So the murderer didn't buy them in the city.

I knew it.

The murderer is meticulous

and knows a lot about flowers.

If the flowers were not bought from the flower shops,

he must have planted them somewhere without permission.

As long as we can find the place where the flowers are planted,

we can find the murderer.

But the planting area is so big.

Where can I find it?

Look.

The flowering period of this kind of flower is very short.

But it's still blooming after Master Rong's death.

That means

the place where it's planted is not very far from the city.

Considering the geology,

environment,

and privacy,

only these places

are suitable.

Go investigate now.

Yes, My Lord.

The succession ceremony

starts now.

Welcome the master.

Holy Envoy, please deliver the seal.

This dress belonged to my mother.

This is an important occasion.

I'm sure she would want to be by your side.

Master Rong stepped down.

I've ascended the throne.

From now on,

I will fulfill the late master's wishes.

I will extend the majesty of all things

and the prosperity of the people.

Master, we swear we'll support you

and live up to the people's expectations.

You may rise.

According to the late master's last wish,

I will marry Du Moqian,

the boss of Yanxia Shop,

on an auspicious day.

Master, congratulations on your marriage.

Yanxia Shop

Master's edict has arrived.

Mr. Du, please come out to accept it.

This is great news.

I wonder why Mr. Du wouldn't accept it.

It's inconvenient for him to accept it.

I'm sorry you had a wasted journey.

Please go back.

This is Master's order.

It'll be disobedience if he doesn't accept it.

What's wrong?

Master,

Du Moqian disobeyed your order.

He's disrespectful.

He should be punished severely.

Forget it.
