[Kill My Sins] [This is a work of fiction]

Look at you.

What are you giggling about?

Top-quality Yutian Jade.

How did you get it?

I saw it a long time ago in the jade shop.

Now that I had enough money,

I finally bought it.

Then you should give it to her as soon as possible.

You are a man.

Don't be shy.

Let me tell you.

I've prepared

the betrothal gifts for you.

Don't let me down.

[Episode 14] [Prefer Death Over Silence]

- Look. - Look.

Look!

Divine bird.

It's a divine bird!

Divine bird!

Divine bird!

The divine bird brings fortune.

This is my first gift

for Princess Jiayue.

You said it was the first one,

so there's a second one?

It's...

Why is it gone?

Right.

The divine bird is gone.

Yes.

- It's back. - It's back.

It's back!

What's that box?

It's indeed a divine bird.

That's right.

What's that?

It's a big box.

That's amazing.

- I can't see clearly. - It's brilliant.

It's indeed a divine bird.

It's coming down.

It's truly a divine bird.

It reads people's minds.

It's amazing!

I didn't know

that your son could train beasts.

This is

a great gift.

Your Highness,

you have such an impressive son.

It's enviable!

This is

the second gift

I present.

Within this box

lies "The Grand Peace of the Ages,"

a masterpiece from Great Feng.

Today, I present it to Your Highness

to celebrate the marriage alliance

between Great Feng and Shuodan

and it is my best wishes for everlasting prosperity!

Excellent!

- Great! - Great!

- Great! - Great!

Move away!

Put out the fire!

Who is that?

Hurry up! It's on fire!

Something's going on there.

Get him!

Let's go.

I...

Go!

Assassin!

Assassin!

Go! Assassin!

Stay put!

There are traitors

trying to assassinate the envoy

in the banquet tonight,

hoping to trigger a war

between the Great Feng and Shuodan.

Somebody!

Catch the assassins.

Do not

let anyone escape.

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

Hurry.

Go.

Let's go!

Father!

Give me the painting.

Father!

Father.

You...

Give it to me.

Zhao.

Keep her alive.

Ping'an,

I'm afraid

that I can't go on with you.

Run!

What's going on?

Assassin! Go!

Go!

Go!

Wenyu!

What happened?

Where's everyone else?

For some reason,

Li Zongxu

found out about our plan.

My people were ambushed.

Where are you going?

I need to find Cailian.

Listen to me!

Right now,

we have to leave.

Otherwise, the rest of us

will be in danger.

Let's go!

Let's go!

Block the street.

Check everyone.

Seize anyone

who is suspicious!

- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.

I've been looking for you.

How are you?

Have you found Cailian?

What's wrong?

Cailian

is dead.

Li Zongxu is a wretched man.

How did he find out about our plan?

He will make another move.

What else can he do to frame me?

Mang Gutter.

By pinning this on Mang Gutter,

he'll make me the prime suspect.

He will then suspend

people of the Court of Judicial Review

and round up Mang Gutter

with the Administrator of Luozhou,

trying to make me admit it.

You need to find some help,

and I will go to Mang Gutter

and buy you some time.

Be careful.

Wait.

About Li Zongxu's salt granary,

do you know where it is?

Yes,

but it is heavily guarded.

Li Zongxu's secret guards

are also there.

Find a way

to set a fire.

Master will give your family

one hundred liang of silver

and make sure they have a comfortable life

for the rest of their life.

You have nothing to worry about.

Master,

there were eight in total.

They realized they couldn't get away with it,

so they killed themselves.

No one is alive.

No one is alive?

Who were they?

Well...

[Li Kun, Administrator of Luozhou] Nothing on them

can prove their identity.

I'm afraid that we need further investigation.

Further investigation?

What is that for?

They were all from Mang Gutter.

Mr. Li,

Her Majesty

especially granted me an opportunity to hold a banquet

and welcome the mission today.

Without a leader,

these lowlifes from Mang Gutter

would not have done this.

Who is from Mang Gutter,

and how did these people

get into the banquet?

Isn't the Court of Judicial Review suspicious?

Your Highness,

this is the crossbow the assassin used

to injure the envoy.

Rat pattern?

There aren't a lot of people

using the rat pattern, is it?

Yuan Shaocheng, Vice Minister of the Court of Judicial Review,

is the suspect in the attempted murder of the envoy tonight.

Get a team to the Court of Judicial Review.

For the rest,

stay here for further investigation. No one shall leave!

Yes, sir.

Wait a second.

Mr. Li,

there must be

more suspects hiding in Mang Gutter.

We need to find them

to identify their leader.

It's time

to clean that filthy place.

Everyone, listen.

Round up Mang Gutter.

Not even a rat shall get away!

- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.

I know

what they took.

Well done.

Now,

you can have your own land and house.

Thank you, Your Highness.

From now on,

may I be your follower?

Stop!

Freeze!

Go!

Mother!

Let go of my child!

Let go of my child!

What are you doing?

[Hai Mansion] You

shouldn't be here.

I don't need you

to show up in person, Mr. Hai.

All I want is...

Someone died in the banquet.

Was it Ye Ping'an?

Things happened all of a sudden.

I didn't even have time

to react.

I think

you still need to learn what loyalty is.

You still have the chance.

Kill her,

and I will help you out.

Ye Ping'an is nothing.

I will kill her.

But please, Mr. Hai,

help me with Mang Gutter now.

Mr. Yuan,

the clock is ticking.

When you are done,

you can come to see me again.

Mang Gutter is so stinky.

Why are you here?

You can't hurt people for no reason!

- That's right! - That's right!

- What are you doing? - What are you doing?

Tonight

in the banquet,

someone from Mang Gutter

tried to murder the envoy from Shuodan.

Look.

This is the evidence.

Rat pattern?

Good that you recognize it.

This is the arrow of the assassin.

Who gave the order to assassinate?

Where can this person be found?

As long as someone can answer these questions,

the people of Mang Gutter

will all be safe.

Nonsense!

This is the planted evidence!

We have always

kept to our own business.

We will never

assassinate anyone!

If no one admits,

everyone from Mang Gutter

will be considered an accomplice.

Then...

Mr. Li,

don't talk about killing all the time.

Those who report it will get credit

and be rewarded.

This is the reward

for the person who gets the first credit.

I'm an old man.

Why am I staying up late

for a young man like you?

Li Zongxu

will not stop

after taking me down.

If the game is not going well,

I can start a new one.

If the chess piece is not good, I can get another piece.

Now you are asking me

to play the game you lost?

I didn't ask you

because I lost.

All I want is to catch a breath.

The people of Mang Gutter are all I care about.

Please, Chancellor Mei,

save the people of Mang Gutter.

Well,

what can you give me in return?

From now on, my life

will be yours.

If I do anything against you,

I will have no friends or family

and end up in misery.

Go back to Mang Gutter.

I will be there.

Thank you, Chancellor Mei.

Master,

shall I get the carriage ready?

Take it easy.

He has potential,

but also a lot of edges.

There is a lot on his mind.

He needs to make some decisions.

You shouldn't

only think for yourselves

but also for your family

and children.

If Mr. Li gets impatient,

I will not be able to stop him.

You are shameless!

No one wants your filthy money.

We're poor

and our lives mean nothing.

However,

we have integrity.

- That's right! - That's right!

We can tell right from wrong.

We won't admit anything

that we didn't do!

- Right! - Right!

We won't admit it!

No!

You are trying to plant the evidence

and frame us!

Dear!

Dear!

Dear!

You are wretched.

You are monsters!

You are monsters!

How could you take innocent lives?

Monsters!

Listen!

From now on,

if everyone remains silent,

I will kill someone

on the count of three.

Someone!

What are you doing?

Let go of me!

Dear!

What are you doing?

Let go of me!

What are you doing?

Three.

Get off me!

Two.

One.

I know who you are looking for.

What are you hiding behind a mask?

I'm afraid of retaliation

and just trying to protect myself.

I saw him asking someone

from the Court of Judicial Review

to set fire to the salt granary on Shuofang Street.

What does it do with the banquet?

I think you are

making up a lie.

Someone.

- Yes. - Yes.

Master!

Master, something is wrong!

Master,

someone set fire to the salt granary.

Mr. Li,

please send a team to help.

You guys, follow him

to the salt granary.

Yes, sir.

Let's go.

It seems like

you do know something.

What's your relationship with him?

He is my enemy,

and is looking for help now.

Help?

Hai Yiqing.

He is only the Minister of Personnel.

What can he do?

Keep going.

Wait.

Hai Yiping likes to stick his nose into everything.

If too many people die here tonight,

I'm afraid he'll use it to destroy me.

Since Yuan Shaocheng is coming,

we may as well wait for a little while.

Mr. Yuan,

you are finally here.

Where is your help?

He has none.

They are together!

How dare you kill people

for no reason here.

What?

The people from this area assassinated the envoy.

It's treason.

None of you can stay out of it,

including you, Yuan Shaocheng.

This is the suspect.

Seize him!

Li Zongxu and the Administrator of Luozhou

framed the people of Mang Gutter

and killed the innocent.

You are heinous!

You are right.

Look at this.

Mr. Gu!

Step back.

Li Zongxu, you...

As far as I know,

he's always been a strong support to you,

and you regard him

like a father, right?

He needs no support.

We may come

from humble beginnings,

but we've got spine!

Yuan Shaocheng,

he is the head of Mang Gutter.

If you don't confess,

he will take the fall.

Since Minister Yuan has left his low status behind,

he has nothing to do with Mang Gutter anymore.

No one of Mang Gutter

would assassinate the envoy,

or do anything

against our conscience.

We will not admit anything

that we didn't do

even in the face of death!

Yuan Shaocheng,

I'm asking you one more time.

Did you send people

to kill the envoy?

Who is behind your back

that allows you

to be so arrogant and defiant?

Mr. Li.

Yes.

Listen to it carefully. Be the witness.

Say it.

Sure.

As long as you keep the rest

of Mang Gutter out of it,

about the banquet...

Everyone, remember.

If the person

who works so hard for Mang Gutter

goes down,

Mang Gutter will be trampled

even if

it escapes the suffering today.

Our

families

will be humiliated

and left unprotected!

I guess I don't need the answer anymore.

Li Zongxu!

- Mr. Gu! - Mr. Gu!

Mr. Gu!

You should have sold Mang Gutter to me.

Get it straight.

If you don't admit it,

all the deaths here

tonight

are because of you.

Mr. Li.

Yes.

You can handle this.

The blood of the people of Mang Gutter

is filthy.

Minister Yuan,

Mr. Gu will be glad to have your company.

Stop it!

I didn't know

that the Administrator of Luozhou

also ran the business here,

even overstepping the Court of Judicial Review.

That's not true, Chancellor Mei.

The people of Mang Gutter assassinated the envoy.

Minister Yuan

has a close tie with this place.

I'm only holding the suspect.

Suspect?

I don't think so.

If the assassination of the envoy

is related to Minister Yuan,

it should be reported to Her Majesty.

Probably the three bureaus also need to take part in the investigation.

Lynching is only going to make it look like

you are torturing him into confession.

You've been in this position for years.

I thought you were better than this.

I...

Chancellor Mei, there must be some mistake.

The people of Mang Gutter

are the descendants of criminals.

They are sneaky and cunning.

The assassination of the envoy

happened all of a sudden.

If the suspect is not seized in time,

there might be a bigger problem.

Now I see the benefit of your last name.

As long as you are Mr. Li,

you get to tell people what to do as a prince

even without any official position.

It was not my intention.

I was only holding the banquet

with the permission of Her Majesty.

As long as it's not a usurpation.

Yuan Shaocheng,

you can explain everything

in the imperial court tomorrow.

Someone.

Get the one with the mask.

I will handle it.

Your Highness...

Mr. Gu.

- Mr. Gu. - Mr. Gu.

Mr. Gu.

[Rat]

This one is for you.

Hesheng and I

each have one.

Our family

should have something of our own.

This is great.

Great indeed.

Mr. Gu!

Stop.

Let go of her.

Chancellor Mei,

why did you save me?

I'm just an old man

enjoying a show.

The show is still on.

You should take care of yourself.

Also, she keeps saying that you are nice.

[Anxin House]

What happened tonight?

Why did you get hurt?

Where is Cailian?

Why isn't Cailian

back with you?

Say something!

Where is Cailian?

No way.

Where's Cailian?

What happened to her?

What exactly happened tonight?

I thought we agreed

to give up if anything went wrong.

Ping'an.

Ping'an, say something!

Li Zongxu

found out about our plan.

Cailian followed him

to get the evidence,

but Li Zongxu had too many

secret guards.

How about

her body?

They took it.

I need revenge for her.

Tell me what I need to do.

Alright.

I'm telling you now.

Don't do

anything.

What do you mean?

Are you worried

about Danxin and me,

and you are going to take revenge

all by yourself?

I told you.

Don't do anything.

Do you understand?

But this is...

Listen to Ping'an!

At this moment, you cannot

try to get revenge on Li Zongxu.

We can't afford to lose anyone else!

But...

I got it.

We will listen to you,

as usual.

Ping'an.

I need some space.

All the men with me were dead.

Ping'an made the plan.

We followed everything

she said,

but in the end, we completely lost.

What are you trying to say?

Are you trying

to blame everything on Ping'an?

I'm not blaming her.

I'm just saying

that maybe we don't need to

always listen to her.

Didn't you hear her?

Li Zongxu found out about the plan.

Someone betrayed us.

There were so many people in the plan.

Maybe someone let it slip.

What are you talking about?

doubting my men?
