She auditioned for the blinds Season 26.

She immediately worked on everything

and came back this season,

and I was really particular about making sure

that the pairings felt emotionally matched,

and I feel like you guys just have this freedom when you sing.

Being here on "The Voice," it doesn't feel real.

and I was like, there she is!

The coach that I choose is Ms. Kelsea Ballerini.

I'm really excited to work with Kelsea.

Most of my experience is harmonizing

and singing with my a cappella group, The Virginia Belles.

We are the oldest all-female a cappella group

at the university.

We live together, we arrange all of our songs.

We do a performance every semester.

We see who could sell the most tickets.

It's a pretty incredible group of women,

but I really want to prove to myself

that I can be a solo singer.

Kelsea: I gave them "ceilings" by Lizzy McAlpine

because it's a song that has a lot of personality.

Although it's a ballad,

it has a lot of vocal movement and whims to it

that they both can play off of.

Iris -- I want to hear her be a little bit more fragile.

The best vocalists to me are not the biggest range

or the biggest belters.

It's the people that know the duality of their voice.

I want to make sure that she can stay true to her tone,

being paired with a voice that's very different than hers.

Iris: Growing up in a super small town,

a lot of kids are pushed to be, like, super sporty.

I was almost, like, insecure about my talent.

And I knew that there was a better version

of myself out there.

When I'm singing on a stage, I get a euphoric,

out-of-body experience.

To think back on little Iris,

I just think about how proud, like, I would be of myself

that I'm here at "The Voice" now.

Coming from not getting any chairs to being a part

of Kelsea's first ever team, it just makes me so emotional

because I think I've come so far just as an artist.

I've dealt with depression and anxiety,

but I have come a very long way.

The coffee shop I work at,

it's right in the heart of Music City.

Everyone there is an artist.

Having that same creative mindset,

it helps me to feel not alone.

"The Voice" is by far the biggest thing I've ever done.

This is what I want my life to be.

Adam: Tyler has a great voice.

You know, there's something kind of ethereal about it.

I think that sometimes she loses the handle a little bit,

but in the moments that it's truly great, I love her voice.

People do covers,

and it doesn't have to sound exactly like the song,

but there's essences of a song

that you want to make sure you capture,

and there is an explosion in the chorus.

You want to, like, feel it, you know?

Adam: Words are so powerful.

Like, I can only do so much with my voice.

But if I take those words and really chew on those words

and realize what I'm saying,

then people feel that even in more simple moments.

Keep that in mind as you're saying words,

like, really make you sing them better.

I know it sounds dumb, but it's true.

that led to me getting to this stage at this age --

being an empty nester, having to refresh my career,

so many things are happening all at the perfect time.

And honestly, as much as I love Conor,

I think it's got to just be -- You guys got to --

There's those little moments it kind of gets a little off.

But I could tell the moments you've really rehearsed.

but really, it's not. Yeah.

I think the best singing I've ever listened to

always feels like it's happening for the first time,

but it is always shocking to know how that's not the case.

Right. Like, "Oh, y'all rehearsed that? Oh." Yeah.

You know what I loved so much,

was that, like, you can tell

you're having so much fun already with this song.

Conor: When we found out,

I think we were both really stoked.

Yeah. Like, I know personally,

I sing this song, like, every gig I play.

And you clearly, like,

have been doing this a while. Yeah.

I make most of my money in L.A. by doing gigs.

And this one night in particular,

there was nobody in the room,

and I was just on the piano in the corner,

and I started playing "How Deep Is Your Love."

And this older couple got up and started slow dancing.

It was just really beautiful.

It reminded me of my grandparents.

When I grew up in Bridgewater, Massachusetts,

I lived with my grandparents and my parents, as well.

We all lived together.

My grandparents had this really special

50-plus-year marriage.

They were always extremely into music.

They seemed really happy doing life together.

And the song is about, how much can we do for each other?

I think that was really exemplified in my childhood,

watching my grandparents love each other in that way.

My only note would be that to be uninhibited as a performer

or doing anything, you have to be so disciplined and skilled.

That's the moment where if you know it so well,

then right before you go onstage, you just let it all go,

and then you just have to be completely present.
