So you were born here?

I was born in
New York City, yeah.

Okay.

Then I moved to DR for a few years

and then grew up in Miami.

How's the career

going as far as all the things that you're doing?

I mean,

I think I'm doing well.

You know I'm like

not where I want to be, but I'm much closer.

And I've started building all these things.

But if you ask my bank account,

it's not going well.

My bank account says it's going badly,

but my spirit and my calendar says

it's going really well.

which is the Venezuelan hot dog spot.

Very fun place.

and we are in Bushwick,

which is where I live.

And yeah,

I would say it feels like my home.

Okay.

Because it's a good mix of both

like art culture

and artistry and

also like Latin culture

that I love.

And also all kinds of cultures too

Your content, your comedy, where does it come from?

Yeah, I mean, you know, it's...

Again, like I said, everything is Un Chín

Like I studied a little bit of everything

and I like for my comedy, my art to

to come from who I am, you know?

And I'm a very like well-versed, to world...

I think, right?

Worldly person

who has a lot of different interests

and that like represents my comedy too.

Like I talk about what it's like to be a single woman

in New York and also like

politics and news and pop culture and internet.

So I like to try to talk about all of that.

Acting.

I love the scenes that I've seen you on.

I think that you have an amazing talent.

Yeah, I think

like acting is

interesting because so much of it is

embodying a character that's not yourself

or really feeling these emotions

and, you know, and letting it come.

So I've just...

I've always like thought about like

like how can you express and also like

How someone behaves and acts like on camera

versus on stage versus this versus that.

Like it's all kind of interconnected

and like it's a new different thing that I like.

But it's also challenging because like

you're at the whims of the director,

the writer, the this, the that.

So I try to like

get as much control as I can

and be something substantial,

which is hard with live comedy.

One of the things that I feel is

I feel like I just met you, but I feel like family.

Yeah.

And a lot of the people that we have in common

told me the same thing.

Once you meet her,

you're going to feel like that's your sister.

your crazy sister.

Talk to me about it.

Does that something that

you always get from all the people?

Well, I have one.

I'm one of six kids.

I have five brothers and sisters.

I have five thousand cousins.

And also my mom,

when I was growing up, she always had hair salons.

Yeah.

And she always had like a really big customer base of people.

And it's not necessarily like all other Dominicans

either She had a lot of Haitian customers,

black American customers,

Jamaican, like Caribbean in general.

And I was always there washing hair,

pantering the phone, all that stuff.

So I feel like all those skills

really made me like enjoy being around people

and connecting with people and all of that.

So I always really enjoyed that.

That was your first stage then?

Yes, exactly.

And also like first way to hear gossip,

first way to hear all that stuff.

For sure,

for sure.

And yeah, like,

and that was also in college.

You know, I studied abroad in Japan

Japan and state taking Japanese

and meeting people in Japan and all that.

Like I just love being able to connect.

Finding someone you have nothing in common

in common and like trying to find that common ground.

Like that is very much my nature.

And I like work hard at that too.

So mommy taking you

to the salon and having you there

train you for this experience.

I think so.

Yeah, for sure.

And train me for a lot of things

that I probably

shouldn't have been trained for.
