The School Trip Of Fights And Blossoming Flowers

With regard to the groups for the school trip,

after drawing the groups, and after talking with the teachers, they've been split as such.

Does anyone have any objections?

Yes, I do.

Yes, Mori?

U-Um... Why am I the only group with two boys?

Group 7 Mori Eguchi Iimura Shimai Matsuo

Group 7 Mori Eguchi Iimura Shimai Matsuo

What do you expect me to do?

That's just how the numbers worked out.

I mean, I wouldn't mind any other person, but it's Eguchi!

And you know what sorta guy he is!

And what sorta guy am I, huh?!

No, it's fine! It's all fine with me...

Well then, that's decided.

Please stick to these groups on the school trip.

Now, onto the leader of each group.

Will each group talk among themselves and report back to me.

You'll have to listen to your group leader all throughout the trip.

I just know Eguchi'll make a mess out of this...

Ah, it's freezing!

The wind's really picking up.

What're we gonna do now?

Well, we've got most of the stuff we'll need for the trip, so I wonder...

What do you think Eguchi and the guys are up to?

No idea.

Wanna go bowling?

But I'm no good!

What's wrong, Tamiko?

Wait here a second.

Hey, doesn't this look great?!

Oh, for Ishikawa?

It'll be perfect for him, right?

Yeah!

Alright, my mind's made up!

Wait right there.

Excuse me!

Don't you want to get something for Eguchi?

Oh, I wasn't planning on it.

He's been kinda strange recently.

Jeez, this is starting to get on my nerves.

Yoshiko, do you even listen to him?

What do you mean?

I mean his e-mo-tions.

If you listen to him, some good might come of it.

It is the school trip, after all.

God, what are you saying?

So, one box of potatoes and five kilos of onions, alright?

Oh, and one case of carrots and some cabba—

Got it!

- Hey, Tami! - Hey, I wasn't done yet!

Tami! Tami! Yoo~hoo!

What are you doing here?!

You by yourself?

I'm just doing some work for my family's store!

I'm gonna earn some money for the school trip.

What about you two? Getting some shopping in?

Yeah, some prep work for the trip.

Whatcha buy?

Not tellin' you!

Come on, Tami! Tell me!

Nope! No waaay!

Come on!

Ishikawa, where's Eguchi and everyone else?

No clue. I haven't been able to get a hold of them today.

It feels like we're all out of sync.

Hey.

Wanna go somewhere?

Stupid, there's three of us.

Three can get on no problem!

It'd be easy if we go local.

It would not!

It's fine, don't worry about me.

You should go on a date when you have the chance.

No way, don't say things like that!

I'm keeping my promise with you today!

I'm just joking around!

Too many cops out today, after all.

Hey, you!

Don't go teachin' kids that sorta thing!

I'm fine, really. Don't worry about me.

Come on, what's holding you back?

Welcome.

If you're feeling bad about it, you can pay for us.

'Cos I don't have much on me.

Quit messing around.

A window seat alright?

What do you want?

W-Why's she sitting over there?

I'll have an iced coffee.

Then I'll have the same!

Tamiko, you're my friend, so you should be sitting over here!

But why?

Then I'll change too.

Not that I'm upset or anything,

but I'm clearly a third wheel!

Hey, how about a sandwich?

Sounds good, wanna split it?

Sure!

If Eguchi were here, we'd be balanced.

Or not...

"Harasawa Construction"

We've mixed up tons of sand.

Yeah, time to get to work.

If you guys are cutting corners, you're not getting paid.

Finally turned up, huh?

There we go!

Hey, my bad, my bad!

Sorry I'm late, I was ridin' and lost track of time.

So? How's progress?

Well, we're not making any progress without you.

We've been here for two hours already.

Oh? You're mad because I'm late?

Of course not. I know how you are.

I know, even if you're a little late, you'll work extra hard to make up for it.

I'm jus' saying, even if you are our leader, I can't pay you if you don't work.

I've gotta save face with my old man.

Anyway, if you work hard today, I'm sure you'll make enough for the school trip.

So you'd best work hard.

We're the Bombers!

Harasawa's mad!

Eguchi!

Bullseye!

Eguchi, I appreciate you trying to liven the place up a bit,

but this is my business.

And if you don't get to work soon, I won't be able to pay you.

Harasawa!

T-That was an accident, Eguchi!

I didn't mean it! I-I swear!

You brought this on yourself, Harasawa!

H-How could you, Eguchi?! You tryin' to wreck the place?!

It's no good, Harasawa! He's too riled up!

And there's only one thing we can do!

Then you better bring it on!

'Cos I'm not going easy on you!

Yeah, this is Harasawa Construction.

Sorry, there may be a slight delay.

You've really got errands?

Then I'll go with you.

I really do have errands, I just remembered.

You two need to make the most of the time you have.

I mean, he's always with Eguchi,

so you don't always have time with each other.

Anyway, I'll see you tomorrow.

By the way, Tsuyama,

once you're finished, drop by Gentle-men.

That's where the rest of us should be.

Sure, I will if I have time.

There's nothing I can do about it.

Tamiko has been lonely recently.

I'm just wasting my time.

Maybe I'll just head home.

Eguchi?

...but it doesn't even look like him.

Master?

Master!

Shige!

Ah, I'm sorry!

Welcome!

Hello!

You were sound asleep!

Oh, it's just you, Tsuyama? Fancy seeing you here.

You seem free.

You're one to talk.

There's nobody here, huh?

N-No, I didn't mean customers. I meant Eguchi and the guys.

Oh, so customers of the non-paying variety.

What about today?

Well, can't deny the possibility of a raid later.

I'm sure Tamiko is out there having fun.

You been shopping, Tsuyama?

Here's a coffee. It's on the house.

Oh, thank you.

Hey, next time you see Eguchi, give him a talking to, will ya?

He eats with his mouth open, he sneezes around food, and puts off all the customers.

You want him to stop talking about poop too?

Yeah, that's the worst thing of all.

You're the only one who can talk sense into him.

T-That's not true.

Whatchu talkin' 'bout, huh?!

It's true, you really do sound like a delinquent.

I'm bored, I'm bored, I'm bored. I'm bored, I'm bored, I'm bored.

I'm bored, I'm booooorrred.

Why am I hoping he'll turn up here?

Oh, Tsuyama. What's up? You free?

That's Eguchi's voice.

The smell of his hair-grease, the outside air, and the cool breeze.

Eguchi!

Eguchi! Eguchi! Eguchi!

Welcome!

Huh? Where's Yoshiko?

Hey, I thought you'd be here.

What took you so long?

Damn it...

Great, another non-paying customer.

Where's Eguchi?

Beats me.

He must've went somewhere to cool off.

Shige, did Yoshiko drop by?

No use askin'. He was fast asleep when we walked in.

Like I said,

a bespectacled angel was here waiting to be swept off her feet by some young rebel.

Oh, Shige!

Was that just part of your dream?!

I wouldn't expect you lot to understand romance! Get lost! Go on, get!

It's because I'm so indecisive.

That's why I still feel this way.

Isn't it?

It is the school trip, after all. I should listen to what he has to say.

How he feels.

Kyoto, Kiyomizu Temple

Kiyomizu Temple was opened by Enchin at the request of Sakanoue no Tamuramaro.

Kyoto, Kiyomizu Temple

Eguchi!

Since then, the temple has endured many fires,

and most sections that remain have suffered severe damage.

Eguchi!

And back in the olden days, people used to jump off this very spot.

Eguchi!

This is where people pay respects to the eleven-faced Kannon,

which is supported by 139 pillars.

Eguchi!

Ah, I mean Eguchi— Eguchi's...

Eguchi!

Sir! What is Eguchi doing?!

Egu— I mean... there's a missing boy in my class called Eguchi Yousuke.

What does he look like?

It's no good, Teach. He's not here.

Well, he looks a little like this...

Are you from a cheer squad?

'Sup!

No, we're not, and we're not cheery either.

This is bad! Group A have already set off.

If Group F don't get going soon...

We're in Group C, so we'll see you later.

Sir! Mr. Tokutake!

Oh, Iimura! Did you find Eguchi?!

No, we've split up to look for him, though.

Could he be...

EGUCHI FIVE MINUTES AGO Produced by The mind of Mr. Tokutake

Hey, whatcha looking at, punk?!

Where ya from, huh?!

Starring Eguchi Yousuke and two students on their school trip

I don't wanna drag others into this.

Let's take this out back.

Fine by me!

The End

What do I do?

What if he's not really lost?

What if...

NEW EGUCHI FIVE MINUTES AGO Produced by The mind of Mr. Tokutake

With nowhere left to turn, Police chief Tadaaki grabbed ahold of a screen door,

and threw himself from the top of the balcony.

Starring Eguchi Yousuke and three samurai

It's thought to be the first hang glider in Japan's history.

Looks like he tried copying it...

What an idiot...

The End

Or maybe he's...

NEW NEW EGUCHI FIVE MINUTES AGO Produced by The mind of Mr. Tokutake

A bluebird has been calling out to me.

He's so dreamy!

Who do you think he is?

Starring Eguchi Yousuke and two girls on their school trip

You think he's a famous actor?!

I'm so...

What's with him?

The End

There's no way he could!

Eguchi!

I'm sorry!

Sir, are you still not ready?

We've got a schedule to stick to, y'know?

I'm so sorry about this.

You look like a new teacher, are you sure you're taking this seriously?

I feel so sorry for him.

But I wonder where he went off to...

B-But I'm...

I told everyone I didn't want him coming on this trip!

Kanagawa Prefecture Namiuchigiwa High School, Group A++

Kyoto! Kyoto!

Kanagawa Prefecture Namiuchigiwa High School, Group A++

Yahoo!

That little punk, when did he sneak on here?

Kyoto sure is amazing!

Kyoto! We're in Kyoto!

When I think of Kyoto...

Kyoto, Oohara, where might your house be?

Just kidding!

Kanagawa Prefecture Namiuchigiwa High School, Group A++

The tour bus will be making its next stop in Uji.

Kanagawa Prefecture Namiuchigiwa High School, Group A++

Uji? Uji?! Amazin'!

Hey, stop embarrassing me. You came here in middle-school, didn't you?

Well, I didn't really know where I went until I got home and saw the souvenirs I bought.

But Eguchi, it's a little daring to get on the wrong bus.

Not really, Teach said we were free to sit wherever.

Isn't that right, Teach?

Who was it that let him into this school?!

Eguchi, you're gonna get in so much trouble for this!

Hey, hey, hey! What do you think you're doing?!

School trip! Full throttle! Vroom, vroom!

Hey! Hey, Eguchi!

Vroom! Vroom! Vroom! Vroom! Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!

What?! He's on Group A's bus headed for Uji?!

Oh, is that so? Thank you, thank you.

Uji, Byodo-in, the Phoenix Hall

And so, Kanpaku Yorimichi, the son of Fujiwara Michinaga,

converted this building into a Buddhist temple and renamed it Byodo-in.

That building is what the Heian nobles thought Sukhavati might have looked like.

What do you think?

It's almost like we've gone back in time, isn't it?

Yes, I see what you mean.

Eguchi! Those are the toilets! The toilets!

Eguchi, how do I work this?

Oh, the film? Pass it here for a sec.

It fits in just like this...

Huh?

Hey, Tamiko.

Don't they make a cute couple?

But Yoshiko says they're still just friends.

Could've fooled me.

Tsuyama, come take a photo with us!

Oh, okay!

Not you, Eguchi!

T-The groups are three boys and three girls.

You're in Group F, so stay out of this!

Oh, that so. Want me to take the picture then?

Fine, but this is an ON30. This thing's worth a fortune.

What?

D-Don't you think you've gone a little far?

No way, Tsuyama'll stop him before anything happens.

Sorry about that.

If you really are sorry, then you'll stay out of our way.

And what's with that get-up?

I don't want you getting us into any fights, okay?

Quit your bitchin'!

I'll get you into a fight right now!

Eguchi!

Everything he's said was right!

Stop playing around!

Come on, let's play.

I'm trying to be serious!

Oh, there they are.

Oh, Group C turned up.

Group F is still back there looking for you.

Something happen over there?

Hey, where are Ishikawa and Marukawa?

Maru's drawn the short straw!

They're in Group D, so they'll be here any minute.

Akira didn't have the balls to sneak onto the bus with the girl he likes.

You makin' fun of me?!

- Take this and this, ya jackass! - Help me, Tsuyama!

What'd I do?!

I can sit wherever I want!

What's that, punk?!

What're you lookin' at?!

What'd ya think you're lookin' at?!

Say that again, punk!

You better watch it, punk!

Ah, off to a good start.

Akira, kick his ass!

Miyoshi, we're supposed to stick together!

Whatdya want?!

Oh, Tami!

Ow, ow, ow!

It was a joke, Tami! It was just a joke!

She's tougher than I thought.

Since when were those two an item?

Tamiko's amazing. She's so assertive.

Now that I think about it, how long have we all been together...

Me and Eguchi...

How'd that work, anyway?

How'd we get here, anyway?

Oh lord, thanks to Eguchi, Group F is out of control, and it's only the first day.

In the end, he just wanted to be in Group A, huh?

He disappears again the second I catch him.

No, no. He's just running back and forth looking for his friends.

It's like he's a kid all over again.

He's not doing any of it out of spite.

Anyway, you can deal with him later.

That's crazy! Did you really stand up to Eguchi?

W-Weren't you scared?

Of course not. Nothing scares me, after all.

"Gion"

Hey, look at this. What do you think?

Like I said.

You don't need to bring that up again.

But he obviously likes you.

I mean, look how he ended up sitting next to you.

But he always does that.

He always does that...

OUTDOOR BATHS

C'mon, man!

Ah, the water feels great.

And it's just for us.

You sure about that?

The whole class is supposed to be in here.

But we all just got in here together.

You can say that again.

Sakurai, what's that?

It's a shampoo-hat.

Don't gimme that shit, dumbass!

You think someone from the Bombers can wear that?!

Sorry, I've used them since I was a kid.

Ah, the pain!

I can't see!

Those bubbles burnin'?

Please stop! I can't take the pain!

Akira, come wash my back!

Alright.

What's with you?! Why're you wearing those?!

But it's embarrassing!

You call yourself a Bomber?!

Hey, quit it!

Take 'em off!

Autumn's finally here...

I'm just shy!

How're you gonna wash your dick?!

Ah, the water felt great!

Eguchi!

Hey, Meshimura.

What's up?

It's Iimura, get it right.

Listen here, you're causing hassle for the whole class.

So as the chairman...

Am I causing trouble?

Ah, no...

They're just like that because they're scared of you!

M-Meshimura! I thought you were Tsuyama!

S-Sorry about this, Eguchi!

A-Are you okay? S-Sorry about that.

Well, then...

Didn't you want to talk to me about something?

I-It's fine. Just behave yourself tomorrow, okay?

Meshimura?

Namiuchigiwa High School Dining Hall

Something happen with Meshimura?

No! Nothin' happened!

Harasawa, that was all your fault!

Yoshiko is?

Yeah, she said she wasn't feeling hungry and went back to the room.

Maybe she's worried about what I said before.

Now that's some good eatin'.

Wanna play The Game of Life when we get back?

Yeah, sure thing!

Ah, Tami!

Say, wanna come to our room?

We're gonna play The Game of Life.

You should come too, Yoshimura!

Yeah, sure thing.

Hey, I'm kinda scared.

It'll be okay, they're really nice. Just ask Yoshiko.

Really?

Lone Pine Lodgings Lone Pine Lodgings

I guess I do want to know, after all.

Until now, I never really thought about how Eguchi feels.

Maybe this is all because I'm in a different place.

My head hurts so much it's pounding.

I can feel it pounding and throbbing...

Don't be stupid, Yoshiko.

What are you gonna do about your feelings for Eguchi?

But today's no good, Tamiko.

I'm not feeling it today.

Come on! Gimme a six! Come on, six!

You're the scary one here!

Damn it! I got a three!

Eguchi, you're up.

Tsuyama sure is takin' her time.

She said she wasn't feeling well. I'll check on her later.

Eguchi loses a day for unemployment!

Harasawa, it's your turn!

Harasawa!

He even snores like an old man.

Tsuyama, you alone?

What is it?

We're playing cards in our room, wanna come?

Sorry, I'm kinda tired.

Alright then.

Eguchi... Eguchi... Eguchi...

If I may be blunt, this is a problem of the heart.

It's a fever, but a field trip fever, so to speak.

It's nothing to worry about.

A field trip fever, huh?

It'll sort itself out by morning.

It's all in her head.

Well then, take care now.

Thank you.

Thank goodness it wasn't anything serious.

We'd better let her get some sleep.

I can't believe it, and just as we go on our trip, too...

I bet Eguchi and everyone else can hardly believe it.

That was a shock, I found her on the floor when I came to check on her.

Hey, what's a field trip fever?

Well, according to Satoshi Yoshida's Medical Dictionary,

it's a psychological phenomena caused by mild fatigue and changes in environment.

It can induce emesis, pyrexia, among other abnormal changes.

Though, it typically occurs in children and adolescents.

Tawara, you sure know a lot about that, huh?

Now, now, everyone back to their rooms.

I hope she'll be okay.

T-Tsuyama...

Hey, hey, hey, hey!

She's getting some rest, so you'd better stay out of this!

Th-That goes for you too! I'm her classmate, you know?!

What's that, punk?

We run the Handicrafts Club together. Got a problem with that?!

W-What, y-you wanna go?

Hey, sore-ass!

Eguchi!

Think about how Yoshiko feels, will ya?

Don't you think all this noise will keep her up?

When I found her on the floor,

she was calling out your name!

If you're leaving the building, write your name and class here,

and be back here by 9:30.

But we're just going to buy souvenirs.

Let's go.

We'll be back later!

Yoshiko.

Yoshiko!

She's out like a light.

Looks like the worst is over.

Wanna go out too?

Yeah.

You're waiting for him, aren't you?

Oh, shut up!

You lucky duck, you!

Come on, Eguchi, get dressed!

Um, Eguchi?

Yo, Meshimura. What's up?

You can call me Iimura, you know?

Would you like to go shopping with me?

With me?

Sure, I guess...

Tami!

Hey!

Sorry to keep you waiting.

You're supposed to wear your uniform, y'know?

Didn't the teachers see you?

I snuck out the back, just like a certain someone.

Is Tsuyama getting some sleep?

Doesn't look like she'll wake up any time soon.

Wanna get outta here?

Yeah, let's go!

What's wrong?

Sorry, Meshimura.

I'll have to pass for today.

Eguchi...

Oh, got the cold shoulder? Wanna go with us instead?

No way in hell, losers!

Piggy, piggy, piggy!

Stand still so I can kill you!

I'm sure they're all out there having fun.

Shopping and playing games.

And here I am with a fever, going absolutely nowhere.

It's always the same.

I guess I deserve this for being so indecisive with Eguchi.

I can never make my mind up.

Uggo!

S-S-So cute!

Alright! There, Maru! You're up!

Hell yeah, this time for sure!

Hey, girls, wait for me!

Hey, you wanna talk?

So, where'd you come from? You live in Kyoto?

So, wanna give me the grand tour?

Wanna go get a drink?

Hey, come on, come on!

No thank you.

Over there! This time you're up!

Right.

Hi! Hi, hi, hi, hi!

Hey!

H-H-Hey, wanna get a drink?!

Just a drink!

Sakurai, ya lousy dingbat!

We're tryin' to pick 'em up!

Why're you scarin' 'em off?!

Can't we stop? This is embarrassing.

Grow a pair, will ya, Sakurai?!

What happens in Kyoto, stays in Kyoto!

Look, look, look!

Hey, where are you from? You by yourself?

Wanna show me around? How about it?

Wanna go get a drink?

I'm not sure what to think of it.

They're the same age, but it's strange how polite she is to him.

Yeah, I guess I see what you mean, there's gotta be something between them.

So, what does he think about Yoshiko?

Huh?

Where'd she run off to? Doesn't she know she's sick?

I've been on the team for two years, but I've never heard him talk about girls.

That's strange.

One of these and one of those please.

Thank you.

Eguchi didn't seem as bad as the rest of us used to be.

He was surprisingly serious about stuff.

You're really going all-out with the shopping, huh?

Where'd she go?

Doesn't she know she's sick?

What was that for?!

What? You just ran into my leg!

You're supposed to apologize!

Yeah! You'd better apologize!

You trying to pick a fight with me?

You got shit for brains? You looking to get killed, huh?!

Then bring it on!

Actually, I changed my mind.

I've got things to do.

Where'd you think you're goin'?!

You running away cos you're scared?!

Running away?

Who do you think you're talkin' to?

Quit tryin' to act all—

You've done it now!

Would you guys quit it?

Go to hell!

Try me, punk!

You won't get away with this! You're a dead man!

Ow, ow! Ow! Ow!

It's a fight.

They're really goin' at it, huh?

Eguchi!

Move!

Eguchi, who're these guys?

Oh, perfect timing.

Tag, you're it.

Guess we'll be... ...taking you on!

In Kyoto, Oohara, Sanzen-in temple,

a woman tired of love stands there all alone.

Her painted kimono sash, silky and fine...

...sits atop the surface of the pond.

In Kyoto, Oohara, Sanzen-in temple,

a woman tired of love stands there...

...all alone.

What're you singing that for?

You'll catch a cold out here.

Dumbass.

Yeah, you're right. I am a dumbass.

What about you?

This was our chance to finally go shopping together...

Not that I wanted to or anything.

What are you on about? Come on.

I... I...

Well I...

I am stupid and I don't know how to say it.

I hate myself so much.

I can't stand it!

Even today, I just dragged everyone down.

That fever must be making you act strange.

Let's go.

But... even I... even I...

My feelings are just as strong as Tamiko's.

And if you told me you loved me too...

Then I wouldn't be so indecisive all the time!

All this time, I was too hard-headed to have fun with you all!

Tsuyama...

Not anymore.

Now you listen!

Listen, Eguchi.

I...

Don't say it, not yet.

When the time comes, I'll be the one to say it.

Well, I guess that's why we're all keeping an eye on those two.

Oh, looks like we made it just in time.

Guess I'll carry this myself.

Hide!

I can't take much more of this.

Yoshi!

Oh, Tami!

What's going on?

Yoshiko's gone missing, and they think Eguchi's gone with her.

It's Eguchi! I'm sure of it!

Where's he taking her anyway?!

That's the last straw!

This is why I didn't want him coming here!

Corporal punishment is our only option!

Oh no.

Oh, so you like fried eggs?

And is there anyone you look up to?

Ueda Umanosuke.

The historical figure?

The pro-wrestler.

What about hobbies?

Meetups.

Is there anywhere you want to visit?

The Moon.

What do you want to do now?

Poop.

I guess I shouldn't have expected a serious response.

Right!

And I was being serious there.

It's okay, I can walk on my own from here.

Forget about it. You're sick, you need to save your strength.

Say, why don't you have a girlfriend?

I'm not so sure myself,

but I just have more fun spending time with the guys.

That sounds like you.

You don't sound very like you, though.

Sorry, I'll work on that.

Look, there they are!

What?! There they are!

Eguchi!

Why you little!

Eguchi!

Wait right there, Eguchi!

Hold it, Eguchi!

Huh?

Eguchi, what happened to you?

I'm learning my lesson

Second Day Nara Prefecture Asuka Village

Ishibutai

How are you feeling, Yoshiko?

You can use my handkerchief if you want.

Thank you.

Tsuyama, want one of these?

Thanks.

Hey!

Hey! Didn't I just tell you to stay off those, you punks?!

I get the feeling they're lifelong rivals now, huh?

You can say that again.

The world built by these people in times gone by...

With all of their love and memories lost to the whirlpools of time.

And it just goes to show the romanticism in the hearts of people nowadays.

We're highschoolers.

I don't think I'll ever do anything as important,

but I want to live my life thinking of others and thinking of my dreams.

That's the type of highschooler I want to be.

We don't have much time before we all go our separate ways.

Here, here, here.

That's why I want to cherish the time I have with my friends while I still can.

Ha! See you later!

Hey, hey, hey, hey!

You got on the wrong bus again, you little punk!

And I just love everyone as they are now!

I always got on so well with them.

But so did everyone else.

Ever since I fell in love with you,

my heart beats faster.

Just because there's a star in the sky tonight,

it doesn't mean it'll be shining there tomorrow.

(Ah, change.) I have to change.

(Ah, change.) I'll do all I can.

All so that our friendship can be something more.

(Ah, change.) We all make mistakes.

(Ah, change.) It's just a part of life.

All this to remove the lock on my heart.

(Ah, change.) I need to be honest with myself.

(Ah, change.) I need to be kind to myself.

So that my dreams don't stay as dreams.

(Ah, change.) I can't put it into words,

(Ah, change.) but people give me passion.

How long has it been since I saw the clear blue sky?
