The Garnett House in Kansas

has quite a history.

Built in 1858,

a famous abolitionist
named John Brown

is said to have harbored
escaped slaves in the attic.

In the 1870s,

it went on to become a hotel,

where legendary figures
such as Wild Bill Hickok,

Wyatt Earp,

and Belle Starr

once stayed.

In the years since,

the building
has served as a jail,

a schoolhouse,

a photography studio,

and a doctor's office.

The current owner

purchased the house to
both preserve its history...

and invite
paranormal enthusiasts

to experience the odd activity

that's been reported
through the years.

Recently,

two women came to the house
to see for themselves.

And got a lot more

than they bargained for.

It looked just like that,

but let's say it was--

This house was the house

that made me truly believe
in the paranormal.

Paranormal investigator Jade Capasso

is making her second visit

to the Garnett House.

This time

with a psychic medium

named Mandy.

They are joined
by the homeowner

and his son.

And almost immediately...

the four of them
head to the second floor

and place
a device on the stairs

called a Dead Bell.

Well, we got
the Dead Bell on the stairs.

If anybody is downstairs,
feel free to come on up.

A Dead Bell
is something spirits can ring

to let investigators know
they are present.

And just as the four
head to the attic...

It's only really supposed

once or twice

for an actual response.

But this thing
was just going off,

like, crazy.

Keep in mind, like,

they do this almost every time

we're trying to go
into the attic.

They, like, try to stop it.

Boom, right there.

They do not like it.

I happen to
really love the Dead Bell.

It marries both the old school

and the new school.

It is this

simple hotel bell

that can be
physically manipulated,

and yet it is mounted

on an EM gadget

that allows for potential

spirit interaction.

I'm going in there. We're all gonna go in there.

But before they
are able to get any closer to the attic,

one of the many dolls

that the owner

has placed around the house
as trigger objects...

appears to make a statement.

Oh, my God!

My camera didn't...

I don't think it...

No, it did not, dude. No, it did not.

In the corner,
there is a doll standing up

on a rocking chair.

And just out of nowhere,

she just flips forward...

...lands on the ground.

And nobody was in that room.

It's kind of unclear

whether the force
of the chair rocking

threw the doll, or perhaps

the doll moved

and that caused
the chair to rock.

Either way...

...between the bell
and the doll,

something is clearly

trying to get
a message across.

It looked just like that,

but let's say it was--

! Sorry.

Okay.
No. What the!

This was
a really tense moment,

because this is not
a house settling noise.

This is not a...

Oh, the wind, you know,

knocked something
over on the counter.

This is a crash.

But let's say it was--

! Sorry.

I mean, this is a house with

real activity

taking place in it.

I knew
something was coming... - It was this.

I'm like, where
is this thing coming from?

Although freaked out,

the four of them
continue toward the attic...

All right,
you guys ready? - Yeah.

- Yeah.
- Let's do it.

...even though it seems

they're being
warned against it.

You're not gonna stop us

from going in the attic.

It's happening
whether you like it or not.

Whoa.

You have to remember
that the attic is,

according to legend,
the place where

escaping slaves were hidden

during the days
of the Underground Railroad.

So perhaps
it's their unquieted spirits

that are really setting off

this REM pod device.

Whoa.

And the longer
they stay near the attic,

the more clear it becomes

that the unquieted spirits

would like them to leave.

- Oh...
- Get out.

- That's insane.
- Get out.

What the!

Another loud noise.

And a doll...

is thrown from the attic.

I think
at this certain point

where things
start to escalate,

you have to be, I think,

aware when it's time

to close up shop.

And that seemed to be
that point in time

where it was time to go.

I'm not kidding.

This place is no joke.

After being there
for eight hours,

they wisely

decide to call it a night.

And Jade has a piece of advice

for anyone
who might be considering

braving the Garnett House

in the future.

I just think that this house

hasn't really been
put on the map yet.

But once it does,

everybody's gonna be
wanting to go there.

And if you do investigate
this house,

please, please

proceed with caution.

never encountered a Bigfoot in real life...

you're not alone.

These notoriously shy cryptids

are incredibly hard to spot.

Not only because they
blend into their surroundings so well,

who believe Bigfoot
possesses the ability

to teleport
into another dimension.

So odds are

encounter one

in the wild.

Or in the case of
one woman in Ohio,

by a tree

that eventually

of a large bipedal figure.

And Danielle is convinced...

...it's Bigfoot!

There's something...

No way, dude.

At first, I'm just like,
I cannot believe

I'm seeing
what I'm seeing right now.

I didn't know
what was gonna happen.

I was terrified for my dogs.

I've heard so many stories

of them and dogs
not getting along.

So that was where
I got scared.

What the! No!

We're leaving!

Even though it heard me
and saw me,

it didn't seem like it,

um, cared.

We can see a figure
that looks very much like

the Bigfoot or Sasquatch

that so many people
have witnessed.

It's a large,

heavy form.

We see the head,

the broad shoulders,

and it appears to be
quite weighty.

There's something...

No way, dude.

You know,
there's a lot of legends that

when the fog comes out,

there'll be Bigfoot sightings,

because they're using
that fog as cover.

And you see this enormous...

being next to the tree

that clearly has the outline
and shape of a Sasquatch.

14 months later,

Danielle is
in East Fork State Park

in Lore City, Ohio,

this time at night,

when she seems
to get lucky again.

First, she hears
what sounds like

trees breaking.

I had just been
walking through,

and I heard a lot of movement.

But when I started
walking back,

that's when I could see

these logs, moving.

That tree branch
was not there like that.

These logs are huge,

and they're
crisscrossing them,

blocking the path.

It made me nervous,
because these were big trees,

and this was a big thing
sitting there staring at me.

And I didn't really get
a good look at him until I edited.

And what
she gets a good look at while editing...

is this.

Just to the right of the tree,

part of a figure,

dark,

and perfectly still.

It does look like there is

some black figure
amongst the trees.

Like, it doesn't really want
to be seen.

But it looks like
it's still kind of

peeking to see
what's going on.

That characteristic could
speak to a lot of cryptids.

When you hear these trees
actually being ripped

or broken apart...

...they are trying to
get your attention to leave.

Which is
exactly what Danielle does.

Okay. I'm leaving.

But how has she
managed to see

this famously elusive creature

multiple times

without even
leaving her home state?

Though Bigfoot is
often thought to inhabit

the Pacific Northwest,

um, sightings in

this particular area of Ohio

are actually quite common.

This is an area
that's been called

one of the nation's
top squatchiest places

according to USA Today.

And indeed, it is the home
of the Ohio Grassman.

It's the Ohio Grassman.

And now that Danielle

has caught sight
of these creatures multiple times,

she's hooked.

Ever since
I ran into that one,

it's been three years,
ever since then,

I've been
researching hardcore.

They don't really want
anything to do with me.

And they're not leaving.

So they're just gonna
mess with me to try to get me to go.

You can't
keep me out of there. I mean, it's gonna...

I shouldn't say that,
because they're probably gonna try.

Someday they're gonna
be like, "That's enough."

What is haunting...

this 19th century farmhouse...

in England?

While there are
many theories as to what causes a haunting...

there are just as many

as to what may cause
that haunting...

to physically manifest.

Like static electricity.

Barometric pressure.

Or even...

phases of the moon.

it's simply the fact

of a structure being
in the right place

at the right time

for whatever spirits...

may need it.

Just ask a woman who bought
an 1830s farmhouse

on the English seaside

near the confluence
of two rivers,

and discovered through
her home security cameras...

that she may be living

in a lighthouse

for the dead.

in Lincolnshire, England.

Paranormal investigator
Deborah Hatswell

is contacted by the owner
of an 1830s farmhouse

who has been experiencing
supernatural activity

since moving in.

She compiles footage
from her security camera

that points toward
a particular hallway

where most of the activity
seems to happen.

And sends it to Deborah
for analysis.

Keep your eyes
on the doorframe

as a small orb

slowly transforms

into what looks like

small fingers

grasping it.

My name is Deborah Hatswell,

and these are
my client's videos.

I've worked in
the paranormal realm

since 1982,

and I've never seen anything
as clear as that.

I pulled it out
and I made it as big as I could, and I thought,

"That's a hand."

Now that is something
I've never seen before.

Like, that genuinely
looked like a little hand

grabbing the wall.

And it's almost like it knew
where the camera was

so that it would
not be seen in full.

To me it looked like
some kind of

monster or alien or something.

It almost looked
like a skeleton.

It certainly didn't look like
what I think a ghost would look like.

When you see
something like this,

when a spirit can gather up
enough energy

to literally

take the shape
of something familiar,

that's got to be something.

And in this case,

according to the homeowner,

that something

is just the tip
of the iceberg.

And she said, "Straight away."

They'd be banging
on the doors,

um, screws would be unturned,

door knobs would be taken off.

She's seen dark presences.

Dark presences

like this shadow...

that streaks
across the screen.

The black shadow.

That was weird.

It sort of
swooped through the air,

but it wasn't an orb.

It wasn't like
a dust particle.

It looked like a presence,

sort of almost like
a black or dark smoke,

moving through that space.

And I found that
genuinely scary.

I didn't like them.

And they're actually...

Some of them
are moving intelligently.

Watch closely,

as first,

a few smaller orbs fly by.

Followed by...

a much bigger one.

Now it's a family home.

It's on the coast,

so we're gonna see dust,

and we're gonna see moss,

and, you know, and all manner
of strange things.

So I think the room
where we see the little hand

and the dark shapes

is the original farmhouse.

And I think that
is just a corridor...

And in effort
to make further sense

of these
unexplained occurrences,

Deborah digs deeply

into the backstory
of the property.

The same year that
the house was built in 1830,

there was actually a shipwreck

out in the bay.

But unfortunately,
there was only one survivor.

Three children died
on the boat.

And the bodies were
brought up onto the land

where the house is situated.

In the field we have

what is called lighthouses.

And essentially,

those can be people
or locations.

And they act like a lighthouse

in a very dark ocean.

So we think that these
energies or spirits

are attracted to people
or places like this,

because in the case
of a location,

it seems like

they kind of
become these almost

safe houses in a way

of these energies
being able to exist

and interact with whoever
happens to be there.

And Deborah's findings

bring a much needed
sense of comfort

to the homeowner.

And hopefully,

peace to the spirits...

that are passing through.

Now she knows

the connection
to the land and the family.

She's more
comfortable with it.

She knows it's not

something that's
out there to harm her.

captures a shadow figure...

on his late night shift.

Ask any
paranormal investigator

and they will tell you,

capturing a ghost on camera

is no easy task.

Not only do you have to record

for hours on end,

you also have
to then review that footage,

sometimes frame by frame

to see what

or who

might have slipped by
your senses.

And even then...

spotting that
small bit of evidence,

if you even manage
to catch it...

takes a good amount of luck.

Which is what
one security guard in Florida

seemed to be
in great supply of

when he pulled up one of
his old cell phone videos

and saw this shadow figure...

crossing his path.

June, 2020.

Daytona Beach, Florida.

Security guard Nick Ingianni

is working the graveyard shift
at a shopping plaza,

that, due to occasional
disembodied voices

echoing in the corridors...

...is believed by some amongst the staff

and Nick himself

to be haunted.

So when he hears
what sounds like

someone walking
in the building...

...while he's supposed to be the only one there...

he picks up his phone

and starts to record.

I'm trying to
set up my phone so I can...

After Nick secures
his phone to his vest,

he grabs his Taser,

and walks down
the dark hallway

remaining as focused
as possible.

Just in case.

But he finds nothing.

So he goes on
with his night,

and doesn't think
too much more about it,

until a year later,

when he's looking
through his phone

and stumbles upon
the patrol video again.

And while watching it...

sees something mind blowing.

Watch very closely.

Did you see it?

Watch again, in slow motion,

as a dark figure

emerges down the hallway.

And then

disappears.

and this is my video.

It definitely
sent chills up my spine

because I knew
that I was alone,

and I didn't see it
while I was

making my way
down this hallway.

All I heard was just

the sounds of
what sounded like

somebody was
shuffling their feet and walking around.

While I'm watching it,
I felt like,

you know, what was this thing?

And, uh,

was I in any kind of danger?

We see
just for a split second

what appears to be
a large dark figure

that seems to be human-like,

but featureless.

Just black as ink.

It's certainly doing

exactly what shadow figures
are known to do.

As soon as they're
noticed by the living,

they sort of
duck around something,

whether it's around a corner

or through a doorway
and out of sight.

What's interesting is

when the shadow person
walks from right to left.

When you see
the security officer pass that area,

you could see that

where the shadow figure
had walked,

he would have walked
directly into a wall.

And there's no way

that he would have
been able to...

like, escape
the security officer.

Good point.

And if it is in fact
a shadow figure,

as it seems to be,

Nick is fairly certain

it's not the first time

he's encountered it.

Periodically I would hear what sounds like voices

or of, like, whispering of...

You know, it sounded like
somebody was in the building,

near me where I was
patrolling at night,

which I would initially think
that there was an,

you know, an intruder,

or somebody
trying to break in.

And then when I'd
go and investigate,

I'd realize that
nobody's there.

I just chalked it up to be

this spirit.

And I just started
making conversation,

and being like, you know,
"Yeah, come on,

you know, let's go
take a walk together,"

just so I wouldn't be,
you know,

as spooked as I was.

This is something that
people forget to do a lot.

If there is in fact

some sort of spirit, presence,

or entity in a building
with you, then

putting on a good face,

greeting them, welcoming them,

letting them know that

you're okay
with their presence there,

that's awesome.

More people
should be doing this.

Nick has
since moved on to another job.

But before leaving,

made sure that
whatever is haunting the halls of the mall

knew

they were appreciated.

During my last patrol,
I went up to

where I caught that figure.

I just said, "Hey.

I'm not gonna be
working here no more.

I hope you find peace.
I hope you,

you know, find whatever it is
you're looking for,

and it was great to,
you know, chat with you

during my time here."

There's definitely times where
I wish I could just go back

just for one night and just,

you know, talk
and kind of explore

and just see what's there,

and if it wants to chat.

the haunted museum

and spirit shop,

looking around a room

that appears focused

on demonic possessions.

When out of nowhere...

as a metal cross

encased in an exorcism box...

Oh!

...appears to get
snapped in half.

Oh, my God!

This crucifix

is definitely made out of
some type of metal.

So for it to be able
to snap and break

the way that it does,

that's something that's
gonna be extremely strong.

Extremely powerful.

This is not going to
just be a human spirit.

Knowing that
this particular cross

was part

of an exorcism kit

that was used

to dispel an evil presence,

that makes this cross

not just

the normal representation
of religious good,

but actually

a successful tool
against evil.

The purpose of an exorcism

is to remove

demonic spirit
from the possessed person.

But where does that spirit go?

Perhaps in this instance,

it ended up attaching itself

to the exorcism box itself.

Oh!

And if so,

can a demonic spirit

attach itself to
any one of these symbols,

anywhere,

at any time?

One holy man

This four
and a half pound crucifix

that's a family heirloom

leaning against the wall

at a 45 degree angle

with a nail

tacked at the bottom
so it wouldn't slide,

this thing just
comes off the wall.

How in the world?
It's impossible.

I was absolutely stunned.

Speechless.

A little bit frightened.

There's a certain connotation

that comes along
with religious artifacts

being affected in this way.

Very much in the same way

that three scratches
on someone

is an aberration
of the Holy Trinity.

The number 666.

All the things
that we attribute

to the devil and his minions

put us directly in
the line of fire

with a war
that has been raging

since the beginning of time.

In the battle
of good and evil,

I think you have to score one
for the devil here,

because given
a little more force,

that cross

could have easily

struck the pastor
right in the back of the head.

I spoke directly to the devil,

and I think he spoke
directly back at me.

And to strike fear.

You know, that's his deal.
He likes to strike fear.

But putting his fear aside,

the pastor
blesses his apartment

after the incident.

Which seems to squash
any lingering presence.

However,

he is also very aware

that though it may have
brought this battle to an end,

the war with evil incarnate

is unfortunately

ongoing.

I've learned now,

don't be challenging
the devil. Okay?

with the devil.

He does have power.

Dirk van Tonder

is in the garden
outside his home

when something
bright in the sky

catches his eye.

So he quickly grabs his camera
and starts recording.

It's an amorphous
shimmering object

that appears to expand

and contract.

And Dirk

is blown away.

My name is Dirk van Tonder,

and these are my videos.

You know,
it's very noticeable.

It's very easy to see

because it gives off
a very powerful light.

It's almost like
a big bunch of glitter

in the sky.

I think it's generating
its own light.

I don't think it's, like,
sunlight reflecting off it.

Dirk is filming

at over 200 times zoom,

and estimates the object

to be roughly between
two to five miles away.

This object looks metallic

and lacks a definitive shape.

And initially,

I wondered if it might be
a mylar balloon.

And yet, based on
what he's saying,

this is more than a mile up

in the sky,

which would make this

far too large

for a balloon.

Instead,

that would make this
about the size

of a school bus.

Dirk tracks the object for a couple of minutes

before it disappears
out of view.

But that isn't the end of it.

Two weeks later,

Dirk is outside
grilling with a friend

when he spots a similar object

floating high above them.

Once again,
he grabs his camera

and starts filming.

This time, the craft
remains in sight

for more than ten minutes.

The other one
was just gold in color

with not much variation.

At some points,
it looked a bit green,

a bit green and gold.

It looks in some ways

like the air sacs in lungs,

that sort of organic,

tree-like branching structure

that we see

inside living creatures.

Only now it's in the sky
and vaguely metallic looking.

We can hear the wind

in the microphone
of the camera.

We can see the palm fronds

moving rapidly back and forth.

Yet, whatever this is
in the sky is

completely stationary

for over eleven minutes.

There's something
not right about that.

Both objects
are indeed baffling.

But to Dirk,

they're just
more incredible captures

to add to his collection.

In fact,

Dirk estimates

that he's seen upwards

of a hundred.

I keep
my camera on the tripod,

ready to go at all times.

This happens all the time.

I don't sit around
waiting for them

or looking out for them.

It's when I walk outside,

I'm watering my garden
or something,

and then I look up,

and where I look

is where it just
suddenly appears.

As if it knows
where you're looking.

And maybe

it does.

But whatever the reason,

Dirk believes that
the ability to see them

is within us all.

I think once you

make an effort
to connect with them,

some kind of a weird
relationship develops

and they seem to

come frequently.

What should you do
in the event you witness something paranormal?

Check your footage

for anything unusual.

Trust that what you're seeing

really is otherworldly.
