in a town with a tragic past.

are said to have been buried
here after several fires

and a scarlet fever outbreak
in the early 1900s.

a lot of people died here in the 1900s.

they come upon something
in the bell tower

that shocks them.

- It's a noose.

Freaked out,
they leave a static camera

running by the noose.

Then head downstairs
to the altar

to try to communicate
with whatever might be in here

by using a spirit board.

the sound of footsteps
are captured near the noose.

At the time, we had, like, no movement on the board,

so, I was kind of just
in a relaxed state

and all of a sudden, bam,

you just hear a really loud
noise from the back room.

And in the moment
when that happened,

that instinct of fight
or flight

kind of set in for me
real quick.

Yeah, and my only
reaction in that moment was just,

you know, get out of there.

Yeah, dude.

I think when you start
communicating with tools

like a planchette on the board

and you're not necessarily
getting the answers you need,

spirit will try to make itself
known in other ways.

And that's probably moving
objects

or taking your attention away
from the spirit board

because it's not a proper
form of communication

for that energy.

After Jordyn and Johnny calm down,

they go back inside
and try to communicate in a different way

by using a technique
called sensory deprivation.

Was that you
that knocked the ladder over downstairs?

I had my hat, like,
pulled over my head

and I have, I'm listening
to the spirit box,

full blast in my ears,
so I can't see anything.

And while Jordyn

listens
only to the spirit box,

Johnny asks questions

to whatever entities
might be present.

The goal is for a spirit to use the spirit box

and tell Jordyn
something in response

to the questions I'm asking.

So, Jordan is actually gonna
say what he hears

coming through the spirit box

and if it lines up,
that's the miraculous goal.

But it seems
that whatever is in this church

wants to communicate
its own way.

As Jordan's hat gets yanked
by some invisible force.

When it got pulled, I thought
Johnny was messing with me

because it got pulled back
like far enough,

and then I could see
Johnny's feet still standing in front of me

and then I went "Okay,
this is real."

It was probably
the most scared

I've ever been in my life.

It's always really creepy
whenever you see

an investigator being
physically interacted

with in any way
'cause it takes a lot for a spirit

or an entity to physically
manifest and interact with us.

So, once it reaches
that point, it's like,

who knows what else
is gonna happen now?

Johnny and Jordyn
have no interest

in finding out what's next,
and leave for the night.

But a few months later,
they return

to continue
their investigation once again.

They set up cameras
in various parts of the church.

We had one camera
looking at the pews

and then we had one camera
set up in the office.

Here we go.

Then,
as Johnny and Jordyn

conduct another
spirit board session.

One of those cameras captures something remarkable.

First, a motion detector light
gets activated.

Right before a poster...
is torn off the wall.

Holy.

The thing fell.

Then the other camera captures a shadow...

passing by the office.

It looked like something
actually walked

past the picture and, like,
pulled it down

and then made its way
to the office

and just, like,
walked into the office.

A lot of the time when you
investigate the paranormal,

you use equipment
like IR cameras,

full spectrum cameras
and certain forms of energy

can be captured within
those types of modes.

A lot of time they'll show up
like mists or light anomalies,

or even like fleeting shadows
like you see here.

Given everything
that happened,

Johnny and Jordyn are certain

that the Sainte-Elisabeth
church is home to many souls.

Some of which are good.

When we talk more,
we think it's a,

it was a kid
messing with Jordyn's hat.

Some people would say
that's being aggressive,

but it wasn't hurting you.

As for all the others...

With all the tragedy
and death that happened in the town,

there must be some kind of,
like, negative energy

that's haunted the town,
and I think that's why

Sainte-Elisabeth became
a ghost town eventually.

A team of intrepid explorers
is headed into the hinterlands

in search of a fabled Bigfoot
like beast called the Yowie.

My name is Gary Lynn,

and I'm part of the Australian
Yowie research.

I'm Buck Buckingham.

I research with
Dean Harrison's Australian Yowie Research Center.

Australian Yowie Research and this is my video.

I've been going
to this area for just over 20 years,

so you get to know the signs.

And on this initial outing,

there are plenty of those
signs, like footprints.

Sixteen and a half inches.

And, oddly enough,

sticks that have been
forced into the Earth.

There's some classic Yowie evidence that we see here.

Footprints that are measuring
upwards of 16 inches.

We see some sticks,
stuck in the ground.

Snapped three different
directions.

- Yeah.
- This way, this way, this way.

Sometimes they are uprooted
and placed upside down

in the ground
and very noticeable.

And in these cases,
this is very similar

to what people have
discovered around hotspots

where Yowie
is believed to reside.

It's a symbol that shows us
that they're active there right now.

Which is more than enough information

to compel the team
to return to the hinterlands,

a week later.

This time, at night.

We set up hammocks
in amongst the trees.

They also bring along a very special piece of equipment,

a thermal camera.

The thermal's great

and it's the first time
I've used it, so I've gone right.

I'll just
have to get out there,

so I'll move away from camp
about 200 meters.

Buck starts capturing footage of the area,

right away, when suddenly...

Something
very bright approaches through the foliage,

through this huge stand
of a bush.

I'm gasping, like,
"Oh, my God.

I'm looking at two creatures.
It's the human shape.

Watch closely.

And what appears to be
the thermal image

of two enormous
ape-like creatures.

When Buck returns to camp,
the team reviews the footage

that he captured.

- Oh, wow, wow.
- Wow.

They were huge.

It was unmistakenly obvious.

- There are two.
- Two of them.

Shoulders and head.

It definitely looks like
a hulking humanoid kind of figure.

It looks very much ape-like,

especially, like the shoulders
and the head.

I think that's what is
the big money shot.

We can see
that the shoulder width

is beyond
what a human's looks like.

You can see this huge head,
almost there's no neck.

The fact that they're seeing
not one, but two of these

via the thermal,
reaching down, walking on two legs.

This is a Yowie.

The team thinks so, too.

And a few days later,
they return to the area

where the figures were spotted
to confirm their findings

by capturing footage
of themselves

on the thermal camera
from the same distance...

...and comparing it to
the Yowie footage.

If you superimpose Gary
standing next to it

and then Shannon and Buck
and then myself,

now, you've got a pretty
good picture of how large,

compared to humans,
these things are.

You can see it almost doubles,
not only the height,

but almost the width
of the other individuals.

The footage that night
got captured,

I think,
is the most compelling,

most convincing
ever taken in this country.

And it has only
compelled the team

to push harder
for even more proof

that these creatures exist.

Personally for us,
we will keep trying to get

better, better
and better footage,

That's clear as day.

an ethereal mist engulfs
a room of ghost hunters in England.

There's a venue
in England called The Village

that's an activity center
for children during the day

and a ghost hunting
hotspot at night.

That's because
during the 1500s,

there was a barn where
this building now stands.

And according to locals,

monks would hide out
there from soldiers

taking possession
of nearby monasteries.

One fateful day,
the barn was set on fire

and burned to the ground
with seven monks trapped inside.

So, it's no surprise
The Village...

is thought to be haunted,

and a man who works there
might have the proof.

April 2016, Nottinghamshire,
England.

Lee Roberts,
a paranormal investigator

with nearly three decades
of experience,

works evenings at The Village,

keeping an eye on the groups
of ghost hunters that frequent the place.

One night, while several
of them are trying

to summon spirits
in the main room,

he sees something bizarre
on the CCTV cam.

It's a well-defined mist
swirling around the room.

Lee is stunned.

My name is Lee Roberts,
and this is my video.

So, the group at that time
were in there

for a good 20 minutes
at this point

and I'm monitoring the CCTV.

I've been stood there many,
many, many times before

with nothing happening.

So, all of a sudden,
for no reason whatsoever

to see this mist happen
was kind of a really big shock for us.

Even more shocking
is when Lee checks in

with the people in the room...

They couldn't see any mist.

Nobody felt anything
happening around them,

but there was clearly
this mist swirling around the room.

The mysterious mist
continues to be visible

on the monitor
for a few hours.

Then disappears,
but not for good.

The actual mist itself came
and went for six months,

and once it left the building
after the six months period,

it never, ever returned,

which is even more a mystery

than it actually being there
in the first place.

I was blown away
by this clip

because you can clearly see

there is this mist
that is moving in a way

that almost seems
to be alive.

It almost has its own kind of
intelligence around it,

and it doesn't behave
like anything

I've ever seen before

Mist is so often connected to
the supernatural within folklore,

from ghosts to vampires
to other magical beings.

It's a way for them
to move about the land,

and some say it's even
a curtain between realms.

After trying everything he can to debunk it,

Lee comes up with only
one possible explanation

as to why the mist appeared.

In that very, very room
would have been the bomb

where the seven monks perished
by smoke and fire.

So, for that to appear,
we are almost certain

that it would have been
the seven monks

that were coming
and showing themselves

and giving us a sign
that they are there

and they are trying to,
to contact us.

It's hard to imagine a more
traumatic death than burning

and knowing that seven
individuals died by fire.

It seems logical
that there would be

an emotional imprint
of that experience

on this particular place.

And there's more,

a year later,
Lee captures something else

that makes him believe
the monks are back

and telling more
of their tragic story.

Once again,
on the CCTV camera,

he notices something odd.

I opened up that night
and came in

unlocked the front door,
turned the alarm off,

so I knew
nobody was in the building.

As I turned the cameras on,
I could hear in the distance,

thump, thump, thump.

I look from
the very same camera

of where we caught the mist

and I could see the door,
ever so slightly, opening and closing,

opening and closing,
opening and closing.

So,
Lee goes to check it out

with a camera in hand
to document the activity.

A bit nerve-racking 'cause
I'm here on my own.

So, I go down
through the corridor

and as I turn to go
to look at the door...

I could quite clearly see
the door opening

to about half a meter
and then slamming.

The door is... is banging.

Is there anybody there?

Now, I'm gonna try
and stop this door.

As I grabbed the door,
there was a little bit of force, a little bit

of tension on the other side
and then it just released.

And there was
nothing there at all.

Is there anyone there?

There is literally nobody
there at all.

There was no explanation
for it.

It stopped there and then
when I grabbed the door and it never happened again.

I've done this for many years,
but that... that got me.

Normally,
I can explain things, but that was weird.

I absolutely geek out whenever
we have layers of activity.

These monks
were trapped inside.

They may have yanked on
or shaken a door, but to no avail.

Is it possible
that they wanted their story told,

and Lee helped them do that,

and now they can move
on in peace.

If that's the case,
they chose the right man for the job.

And Lee is thrilled about it.

I've never seen anything
in 28 years of doing paranormal investigation,

anything like this.

Now, I've seen lots of things.

Now, I see shadows.
Seeing things moving on infrared cameras.

But to actually have
a mist that was there,

just swirling around,
it was just so exciting.

how are these pebbles...

That's amazing.

...defying gravity?

What is going on?

We tend to think
that science is essentially

the opposite
of the paranormal.

But that may not be so true.

After all,
there are many ghost hunters who use scientific equipment

to detect the presence
of entities.

So, Perhaps
paranormal phenomena

...is just a science
that we haven't quite figured out yet.

And if so,

that may explain
the very odd, but truly mind blowing presence

of these gravity-defying
pebbles.

That's amazing.

A man and his mother
are out for a walk.

When they stop to rest
on a bench.

As they take in the scenery,

something odd suddenly
catches their eye.

Oh, my God!

it's a pebble

inexplicably floating
just above the ground.

They watch in awe
as the rock hovers and spins suspended

above the Earth.

Oh,.

Oh, that can't be real, man.

But it is.

What is going on?

Yes, exactly.

This video
is really perplexing

because
what we're witnessing here

is just something
that totally defies the laws of physics.

I really
appreciated the fact that he put his finger

around the rock just
to prove there's no strings. We're not manipulating this.

I truly believe
that what we're seeing in this video

is actually happening.

Eventually,
the pebble seems to lose its bizarre properties

and returns
to a resting position on the ground.

After showing
the video to locals, who are equally

as stumped and lacking any
scientific explanation, the man wonders

if the proximity
to a Buddhist temple might offer a clue.

There are traditional stories

in a lot of different
cultures about spirits

trapped in an inanimate
object like a rock or a piece of wood,

and that
as that spirit gets agitated, sometimes that rock

or piece of wood will shake
or bounce.

Oh, my God!

This phenomenon seems
to provide concrete evidence

that the people
who've told those stories are not making

things up, they're simply
describing what they see.

Could be.

But if so,
then how do you explain this next example,

which happens
in September 2019 in Owasso, Oklahoma?

Nowhere near
a Buddhist temple.

Once again,
a fragment of rock floats above the ground,

mesmerizing two men
who come across it.

That's pretty cool.
A floating rock.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

I think, for me,
there's something gravitational going on here.

This can be directly
over something that's really creating this magnetic force

that's causing these pebbles
to float.

Let's see
if it'll do it again.

Right here
is where the gravity stops working.

That's amazing.

Diamagnetic levitation
is something

that we are harnessing
to use in technology today.

And essentially,
what it is is that you have two magnets

with opposing
magnetic energies

and that can be created
in nature.

You know, the electromagnetic
field from the Earth has a particularly strong

geomagnetic field of its own.

So, we're literally living
on one giant magnet right now.

Look at that,
it's just floats on its own.

And the second that science gets a hold of this phenomena,

it loses all
of its spiritual luster, but the reality is

that it's still
a spiritual experience and we just have yet to

understand it fully.

But when we do,

doesn't make it
any less of a spiritual experience.

perhaps the question is not whether it can be explained

either by the scientific
or the paranormal,

but rather,
can it be explained by both?

When just after sunset,

he spots something peculiar
through the trees.

Oh, what the hell?

He's a little unnerved.

It's kind of freaky.

So, he starts
live streaming with his phone.

I've wandered everywhere
in the forest here all day

and I see every star
in the sky.

There's no clouds,
but this light keeps flashing up in the trees,

different areas.

Sometimes it's lower,
sometimes it's higher. And I don't know what it is.

All right. Let's see
if we can see it now.

No helicopter.
Oh, did you see it?

I want you to kind of focus
between, in this--

Oh, did you just see that?

What the hell is that?

The color was like orange
and white and, like, blue.

They were kind of changing
and alternating colors,

and sometimes
they were round balls

and sometimes
they were kind of oval, like, they're moving.

Sometimes it'll be
over there. Sometimes it'll be there.

Sometimes it'll be up higher.

Sometimes it'll be
down lower to the ground.

They were just erratic.

Okay, hang on.
Oh, oh, oh, my God.

But it didn't illuminate
like a normal light would.

Oh, did you see that flash?

It didn't light
up the ground, it just lit up that area.

So, I also thought
that was kind of weird, too.

Now, did you just see that?

I thought it was lightning at first.

Now, that kind of looked like
lightning on this camera, but it's not.

Um, there's no clouds.
Whoa!

That looked like
it came up from the ground.

People are always like,
"Is it fireflies?

And I'm like
"Well, I don't think fireflies are this big,"

because they were at least
that big.

No firefly, it's a big flash.

So, if the lights are
not lightning or fireflies, then what are they?

See?
Did you see it? Did you see it?

These literally look like
little bursts of energy, like,

when you strike a match,
that initial friction that you get,

it almost looks like
a sparkler

and that gets me
really excited

because when I see energy like
this transpire in nature,

I feel like this is all
of nature's consciousness

and spirit right before our
eyes.

Okay, that's a different area than it was before.

I mean, it, it moves.

To me, as a folklorist,

this reads
as an obvious sighting of a will of the wisp.

Will of the wisps,
whether you want to call them that

or jack-o'-lanterns
or ghosts lights are so well documented,

around the world,
and what that tells us

is that this is
a real phenomenon.

And it's weird because, this is where,

it kind of creeps me out.
Oh...

There are certain places
in the country

where mysterious lights
appear so regularly

and frequently
that you can actually plan outings to see them.

Some places even built
viewing stations for it.

This isn't
one of those places,

but the area
where Bryan is camping is known for something else.

It's really strange.

On November 5th, 1975,

a man named Travis Walton
claimed to have been

abducted by aliens
and went missing for five days,

just 40 miles away.

I think, it's a UFO

or something
that's beyond up there.

This is the same area
that Travis Walton got abducted.

Now, I've talked to Travis,
and Travis has told me all about his experiences,

what happened,
where he went, how he came back.

And for a man who saw things
that many of us

will never see,
he's a mellow guy.

But that experience
to the average person would be terrifying.

And because this guy is
in the woods thinking, "Are those lights

the precursor
to my abduction experience?"

Yeah. I can't blame him
for filming.

Honestly,
it's kind of freaking me out.

I got goose bumps.
I mean, I am all alone.

This is also
the same general vicinity

where the Mogollon
Rim monster is said to appear.

That's kind of like
an Arizona Bigfoot cryptid creature.

So, this area is no stranger
to paranormal and supernatural and just plain weird activity.

Any time we see
those sorts of stories coalescing

around one particular region
UFO abduction,

the presence of cryptids,
will of the wisps being documented

with consistency
and regularity,

we start to see this place

as a real hotbed
of paranormal activity.

And whatever category

this particular activity falls
into...

...it's more than
enough to terrify Bryan.

It's kind of freaky.

It was pretty scary.

So scary
that it has forever changed the way Bryan feels

about the area
and camping in general.

And it left me a little
shaken, so,

I don't really venture up
there alone anymore.

But I still like taking
in the great outdoors just with a buddy.

is actually anything but.

when suddenly Shaneika
notices something in the sky.

I can see.

A dark, misty,
amorphous object soaring across the horizon...

Look.

...that is cloud-like, but not quite a cloud.

Shaneika films
the strange form

until it disappears
behind the trees.

And to this day,
she remains baffled.

and this is my video.

I'm a cloud watcher,

so I like looking
at the different shapes of the clouds, I mean,

I saw it and I was like,
"Hold up. What is that?"

I was shocked,
intrigued the way it was moving quickly

and the way it turned,
like, it was turning.

Clouds don't do that.

This really isn't like any UFO
I've ever seen before.

It really appears to be
a cloud, except it isn't.

It's moving
really fast in a wind

that no other cloud appears
to be being affected by.

And it seems,
as it's moving, to rotate.

It seems to have
some kind of amoebic form to it,

which changes as it goes on.

And incredibly,
this was not the only bizarre,

fast-moving mist Shaneika
and India caught that day.

There was a second one that I saw with my own eyes

but the bigger one was more
in front of me,

and I couldn't keep my eyes
on the second one.

And when I went back
to watch the video,

it was actually three of them.

The third one was way
off in the back as well.

They were all
going the same direction.

There's something in there. I can see.

Now, if these are crafts,
are they working in tandem?

Could it be that the first one
is meant as a decoy?

"Hey, look at me,
pay attention to this,"

so the other one can pass
by without being noticed.

It just brings me back
to clips I've seen in the past

where people believe
they have spotted UFOs

that are trying to
camouflage themselves

in everyday matters
so that humans don't notice them

and they can kind of
observe us undetected.

Look.

The idea of camouflage
seems pretty applicable here,

so if this is a UFO,
some sort of alien craft

that's attempting to move
above our planet unnoticed,

what better disguise
than to look like something

that the sky is already
full of.

In this case, clouds.

But we clearly
are noticing these objects.

There's something in there. I can see.

So, maybe what Shaneika and India see in the sky

aren't disguising
themselves at all.

Maybe they just
are what they are.

Is this
some sort of biological UFO?

It just seems to be
acting completely on its own

and it's like morphing
and mimicking

different things,
like, first a cloud,

but then next kind of looking
more like silk or cloth.

I do believe
that there are energies that

vibrate on a level
that the human physiology can't convey at all.

Whatever the explanation,

Shaneika is keeping
an open mind,

and she's very aware of just
how special the sighting was.

My thoughts
on it being a UFO

or something of that nature,
I do believe that it's possible.

I do believe that we are not
the only beings out here,

but I think, for my daughter,
she will always remember,

you know,
this as a part of her memory,

something she maybe can tell
her kids, you know, one day.

There's something in there. I can see.

from the creatures.

Never stop recording even when you're scared.

Trust that what you're seeing really is otherworldly.
