Spirit attachment can lead to possession,

and it's not something to be taken lightly.

...mysterious jaw-dropping sights

in the daytime skies...

I personally do not know of anything in the natural world

that would cause this.

Looks like the shape of a freakin' person.

...a ghost with a tragic

past manifests in a theater...

It was shocking, it was chilling, and it was exciting.

...a frightening poltergeist

haunts a backyard...

It's clearly shaking with nothing touching it.

There's definitely something sinister about this.

...a terrifying sea creature

stalks its prey...

Aah!

That is horrifying.

I would have gotten out of there immediately.

...and even more paranormal footage

you have to see to believe.

The best stage shows move viewers to feel something

in a way that no other form of art quite can.

With so much emotion evoked both on the stage

and in the audience for every performance,

theaters all over the world

are thought to harbor leftover supernatural energy.

That's why the Garden State Ghost Hunters investigated

the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey,

and came away with an encounter they'll never forget.

Oh, my freaking God!

It's not uncommon to hear that a theater is haunted.

When it comes to ghosts in theaters,

perhaps they can be actors that are replaying their parts.

It could be residual energy that is just echoing, echoing,

echoing because the same performances

are often played over and over.

I love theaters, and I love the stories behind theaters,

and it seems every theater has some story.

A friend was telling me that he was getting an applause

from somebody sitting in the audience.

There wasn't supposed to be anybody in there.

It was an off night, and people were just rehearsing,

and there were people seeing people in the orchestra seats,

which is amazing.

But perhaps no venue elicits more otherworldly anecdotes

than the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

The Paramount Theatre is old theater.

There's been a few ghosts reported to us.

I know, in the 1930s, there was a fire in the theater

and a few people died,

and that's where they catch a lot of paranormal activity,

in the section that actually isn't used anymore.

One search for entities in the closed-off area

of the theater took place when David Goldstein

joined the Garden State Ghost Hunters on an expedition.

My name is David Goldstein,

and I shot the video at the Paramount Theatre.

I can see all the way down, and there's, like, nothing

but a broomstick down at the end of the hallway.

I was an embedded photographer with the team.

We had started out by going into the shut-down portion

of the second-floor hallway,

which were dressing rooms that had experienced the fire,

and these dressing rooms had never been renovated.

You could still see the charred remains from the fire

in these dressing rooms.

And the team were trying to get some EVPs,

or electronic voice phenomenon,

and it was then that we moved out into the hallway

and we experienced a very unusual event.

That unusual event began

when the team took out a thermal imaging camera

and pointed it toward the end of the hallway.

Looks like the shape of a freaking person.

See the cold spot in the middle? It's black.

Mm-hmm.

Can you move for us?

As an investigator, this is what you're looking for

on an investigation.

What you're seeing here is, somebody is picking up

a cold spot on a thermal imaging camera.

The thermal imaging camera is a huge tool

in ghost investigation.

Any time that you can cut through foliage

or even darkness,

you can see into places that you normally couldn't see

by using temperatures as images.

And now, the theory behind that and why it's so exciting

to pick that up as an investigator is

because it is believed cold spots are left behind

by energies drawn out of a specific location.

So what they're seeing is the aftermath of a manifestation.

It's actually a beautiful thing to catch on a FLIR camera.

Oh, my freaking God!Cool.

That is standing right there, looking at us.

Don't tell me that's the freaking wall.

That's the shape of a person.Yeah.

Can you move, please? Just move sideways.

That is the shape of a freaking person.

Theaters are places that reenact tales of comedy and tragedy,

and the fact that an actual tragedy occurred here,

doesn't surprise me that activity has popped up

even to this day.

Oh, see the feet? Yeah.

Can see him forming a head.

You could see the wall and everything behind it.

Can you tilt it up towards my lens

so I can get a good shot of it?

It was very sobering to go in there

and know that somebody lost their life

in that space right there.

It was shocking, it was chilling, and it was exciting.

The team attempted to get closer to the cold spot.

We're coming down to you.

But before they could, it disappeared.

Mm.

The wall's got warm spots on it.

You got a little cold spot up there,

but that ain't what we were seeing.

We tried to duplicate it two or three more times

with totally different people

to try to do it as a kind of a blind test.

I mean, and then we told the rest of the group,

and we showed everybody what we found,

and nobody else could duplicate that.

That the cold spot suddenly disappeared

without any obvious clues as to why meant

one thing for the team -- what they caught was legitimate.

And we walked right past whatever it was,

and we cannot re-create it in any way, shape, or form.

Therefore, that validates what we picked up.

We captured it on tape.

But even if this particular experience

was just a one-time thing,

theaters will seemingly always be a hotbed

for this type of activity.

I've always been compelled as to why theaters would be haunted.

I've investigated some incredibly haunted theaters.

I've seen shadow people onstage.

I've seen them in the foyers and things like that.

It just goes to show that the human emotion

could really leave an imprint on a location

that would be considered a paranormal phenomenon.

Oh, my freaking God!

Cool.

A natural by-product of a finite life

is an innate desire to question life's very meaning,

and since the dawn of time,

mankind has looked to the heavens for answers.

Most of the time, those answers remain ambiguous.

But if you look hard enough, there are instances where

the skies might just give you exactly what you're looking for.

Human beings have, throughout history,

looked to the skies and especially the clouds

for signs from above.

People see angels.

People see animals.

People see faces.

People see UFOs.

And I believe that this is a natural way

that people get synchronistic messages.

Messages like in this clip taken in 2015 in Costa Rica

during Independence Day celebrations as onlookers

speak out in shock at what they're seeing.

Look at the sky.

I have never seen anything like this.

It's like a sign of God.

It's not just Christians.

Many, many cultures see the sky

as someplace where the spirits go once they die.

It's like the Lord is gonna come through those clouds any moment.

As far as that type of phenomena, like,

I like to believe that that's some sort of message

to show humankind that there's greater things out there.

You know?

It kind of inspires people like me and so many other people

to seek more than what you see in your 3-D world,

you know, that there's other things out there to explore.

In the same year, one man looked up

in the Greenwood, Indiana, skies and found something

that utterly astounded him.

Oh, my goodness.

What the hell?

Footage taken during a cloudy day is fascinating because,

of course, there's a lot of electromagnetic energy

going on in the skies behind the clouds or within the clouds,

so it does lead to a lot of different phenomenon

that look to be UFO-like in nature.

What the hell is that?

What the?

This video is mind-boggling.

It looks like something mechanical

is in the sky quickly changing angles

and causing the light to bounce off different directions.

I personally do not know of anything in the natural world

that would cause this.

That was the strangest thing I've ever seen.

It's difficult to find any logical explanation

for what Krystal Washington of Tuscaloosa, Alabama,

experienced just before a severe thunderstorm in 2018.

Watch the hole in the center of the clouds.

Watch again, zoomed in,

as a figure seems to take a stroll across the clouds

in the middle of the hole in the thunderstorm.

The woman filming certainly seems very excited

by what she's seeing.

It almost seems like she gets a sense of serenity from it.

My name is Krystal Washington, and I am the one the video.

I had family coming to Tuscaloosa, Alabama,

so I went out there and just started recording

because they were already on their way,

and I was basically just trying to, you know,

let them know how the weather was,

let them see what was going on that day.

And when I seen it, it was just, like, "Oh, my God."

Like, "What is it?"

I've never seen anything like that before,

so of course I took it as some sort of spiritual being,

and I was overwhelmed.

It is interesting footage.

When we see the entity sort of walking from left to right,

it does make me think that maybe there's some intelligent life

guiding this spirit or shadow creature or Jesus.

Who knows?

This seems to be a throwback to olden days

when we would look up to the sky

and assume that's where the creator lives

and observes us from on high.

So this still resonates with a lot of people

that anything that happens up in the sky,

in the clouds, like in this video,

must be heavenly,

and to see this, it makes you wonder,

"Mm, maybe someone was watching."

My grandmother had just passed,

and in my mind, I considered her as my mother or my guardian,

so that's why I think it was just a sign to me

to let me know that she was looking out for me.

Krystal's story is just the latest

regarding humanity's deep connection to the heavens.

We're here on this little rock,

and the clouds are our one little layer

that separates us from all of the cosmos,

so there's a lot to imagine up there,

and the clouds are open to interpretation

however you'd like.

Coming up, the box from hell.

Legend has it that ancient Egyptians carved spells

into their rulers' tombs which foretold certain doom

for those who would disturb the monarchs' peace.

This supposed curse of the pharaohs has been spoken

of as the cause of death for many an Egyptologist,

treasure hunter, and thief.

These days, obtaining a potentially cursed artifact

no longer involves following antique maps.

All it takes is the simple click of a mouse.

There's definitely something in here.

Casey Nolan is a YouTuber whose channel focuses on electronics

and, more recently, the paranormal,

including the unboxing of a dybbuk box.

Apparently, these are boxes with demon spirits

trapped inside them, sealed with candle wax.

So a dybbuk is a ghost in Jewish mythology,

and the dybbuk box is basically an enclosure to trap the spirit

and to keep it from harming anyone, essentially.

A dybbuk box is an attractive item

for collector of the macabre and the paranormal,

so I'm not surprised that it is a desired item.

Now, that being said, like any other dangerous

or devious collectible item,

it's best kept on a shelf and not touched.

I'm Casey Nolan, and I'm the one

that recorded a video of the dybbuk box.

People are selling them online on eBay,

and they look like just a box covered in candle wax,

but they're supposedly cursed

and they have a spirit attached to them.

I wanted to somewhat debunk it,

so I thought it would be a cool video

if I ordered one and made a video about it.

I'm pretty sure this is fake,

but there's always that "What if?"

in the back of your mind.

What if there really was a spirit captured

and I have it sitting in my house right now?

I also received a little letter inside the package.

"This dybbuk box was put together

by a practicing witch of the black arts.

Dybbuk boxes are not toys.

They contain evil, dark, and dangerous energies to have

around you, your household, or life.

Please do not open."

There is a long history of capturing spirits in vessels

or containers, usually evil or malicious spirits.

It goes back to ancient times.

Casey began to run some tests on the box.

The first test that I wanted to run on it was the EMF detector,

which is an electromagnetic field detector.

This is a "ghost meter,"

but it actually does detect electromagnetic frequencies.

And I am going to scan around the box.

And if it starts beeping, that means that it's picking up

some kind of electromagnetic energy.

I can't explain why that particular EMF meter

would respond to a wooden box.

It shouldn't.

This thing is very accurate,

and I am a little bit nervous right now.

The thing that's really, like, creeping me out is,

when I move the box away, it stops detecting it,

so I know it's not, like, any of my camera equipment or anything.

Check this out.

Stopped.

And when I put the box closer, there it is again.

The next test that I wanted to run is a Spirit Box.

I heard something right there.

It's scanning. It's scanning.

And there are some sounds that make you think,

"Okay, well, something is inside the box."

If this is a spirit trying to communicate,

do you want to hurt people?

That point, I was getting a little bit freaked out

because I've used a Spirit Box many times

where I've gotten absolutely nothing,

and when something comes through on it,

it's always hair-raising, definitely.

With his curiosity irrevocably piqued,

Casey couldn't wait any longer.

He decided to open the box.

I'm cutting the wax right now.

Okay, the wax is broken.

And it smells really bad.

When he opened the box, the EMF meter actually stopped.

Okay, the wax is broken.

So it almost seems like whatever was inside of the box left.

So that was really crepy.

There's a crystal in here.

The object inside of the box was a selenite crystal,

which is used for purifying energy.

And so whoever prepared this box

probably put it in there to keep whatever it was at bay.

Is this what was making it beep?

No.

If this dybbuk box is legit, then most likely,

the crystal inside of it was used in the capturing

and subduing of the spirit.

The box itself is just a vessel, and the wax was used to seal it.

But soon after opening the box,

strange things started to occur in the room.

A plaque on his wall started to move.

It's always been hung right there in that same spot.

It's been there for about three months.

The air-conditioning was off in my house.

There's no reason that that thing should have been moving.

And I just -- I started getting extremely uncomfortable

at that point.

Suddenly, there was no doubt something

was in the room with him.

If, in fact, the box contained a malicious spirit,

the person who opened the box would be in a lot of danger.

One of the first things the spirit might do

is jump to a person that it could attach to,

and that would be the person who opened the box.

Spirit attachment can lead to possession.

It can lead to all kinds of serious problems,

and it's not something to be taken lightly.

Yeah that. I'm out of here.

Thoroughly creeped out,

Casey decided to abandon the box

and his apartment for the night.

All right, successfully in the car.

I am heading to my brother Chuck's house

for the rest of the night.

I am not comfortable staying in my house at this moment in time.

I didn't think about taking anything at that point.

I just wanted to get out of the house

because I had seen enough signs

that there was something up with this box,

and I felt like I might have let something out at my house.

I can't come up with a logical explanation in my mind

as to how that could have been moving.

If there was an evil entity in there,

then he got off pretty lucky.

If you believe in demons and evil spirits,

things could have gone a lot worse.

Casey later returned to the apartment

and had a ritualistic cleansing performed,

which he hopes has put to rest any spirits

he may have disturbed.

But should others heed the warnings of Casey's

experience with the cursed artifact?

If you tell a person not to do something,

the first thing they're going to do is do that one thing.

So when people acquire these --

and many of them are sold on the Internet,

whether they're real or not -- for some people,

the first thing they're going to do is open it up

and see what happens.

No. Demon box is done.

Won't touch another one of those.

a mysterious sea creature ready to kill.

The sunny Florida coast

may seem like the perfect spot to soak your troubles away,

but just below the waves, there are things that will turn

even the most golden-tanned skin white.

For one couple off of Sanibel Island in 2013,

their leisurely afternoon boat ride

turned into a terrifying encounter

with a visitor to the Florida waters

that was definitely no average tourist.

Patricia and Dave Carlin were fishing off

of Sanibel Island, Florida,

when they spotted something in the water beneath their boat.

And we were on the boat.

I grew up in South Florida my whole life,

so I've always been on the water,

always been fishing.

Spent my entire childhood in Sanibel.

We were down there for about a month.

I want to say it was like our fifth time renting a boat.

We were going fishing, and at that time,

we were just heading back.

It was probably like -- What do you say?

Like 4:00?

And we were passing by a little cove, like,

right before the inlet, before you get in.

All of a sudden, we see a pod of manatee.

So we're like, "Oh, let's slow down the boat."

And that's when we saw a huge commotion in the water,

and that's when we started filming.

The creature's underwater movements

unnerved the confused couple for a few tense moments...

...before finally...

it showed itself.

Aah!

The woman taking this video reacted perfectly.

That is horrifying.

I would have gotten out of there immediately.

Aah!

A lot of times, you can look at these cryptid videos

and the reaction of the videographer

often lends some credibility to the sighting.

In this case, the woman obviously seemed very upset

and very concerned about her own safety,

which to me means that she didn't know what it was

and she was afraid that it was gonna come closer to her.

I've been surfing my whole life.

She's from Florida.

So I mean, we've seen everything that's out there,

and there's tons and tons of wildlife there, but nothing --

Yeah. I mean, nothing like --

I mean, I've seen a million alligators,

and I'd never seen anything like that before.

I never --This thing was --

It was just -- It was larger than the boat.

And some people are like, "Oh, it's an oarfish."

It's just -- I mean, it just -- it's not even close to --

It wasn't. Wasn't a whale.

Wasn't a dolphin. It didn't have any fins.

It didn't have any dorsals.

It didn't have anything like that.

It was a smooth, thick, cylinder-shaped trunk body.

Aah!

Watch again in slow motion as an unidentified creature

breached the surface of the water with another animal

seemingly wrapped within its grasp

before disappearing back beneath the waterline.

It had a manatee.Yeah, we actually --

We saw it.

When you ta-- If you take the video

and you slow it down,

you see two coils out of the water,

and to the left, you actually see what looks like a baby --

It was a manatee.

Well, it is a baby manatee in the one coil.

And when it came out of the water,

it all wrapped around that manatee.

It's hard to see in the video,

but she says that it's attacking a manatee.

Now, we know what a manatee looks like.

It's easily identifiable.

But what's around it and what's grabbing on to it,

if we can't identify that, what is it?

Aah!

Obviously, when we saw that happen in person,

that's why we were like, "Let's get out of here."

Because, you know, we're in a,

what, 19-foot boat.Yeah.

And the thing was much larger.

How much larger?

It looked like it was a gigantic serpent,

and it was the size of if you took a utility pole

and put it horizontal, and it was so thick.

Yeah.

I mean, its girth had to be this big.

I mean, it was like the size of a tree trunk.

It was black on top and white on the bottom.

Yeah, black on top, white on the bottom.

It looked like a tank.

It looked like literally a tank going through the water.

And the speed -- So it was, like, pretty much

just if you took a football and threw it as fast

as you could, that's as fast as it moved

from one spot to the next, you know.

Aah!

With global warming and with climate change,

things are moving around

in a way that they didn't normally do.

So if you see something like this,

it actually can be pretty darn terrifying.

Patricia and Dave are clear in their stance.

They hope they never have to find out.

We were terrified.

These are waters we've chartered a million times,

and after that, I would not even put a toe

in that water in a million years.

Why risk it? No way.

And we hope to never, ever see it again

because it was -- it was insane.

Coming up, a family's close encounter with a backyard ghost.

Poltergeist activity can itself be frightening to witness,

but at times, even more distressing can be its ability

to manifest in the most unexpected of circumstances.

That's what one woman discovered on a summer afternoon

when she took out her camera phone

to record her family playing in her home's backyard,

but instead captured something seriously spooky.

Oh, my God. That is weird.

In 2016, Lyndsey Evison of Armthorpe, England,

was broadcasting her daughter and nephew

to friends on Facebook Live.

My name is Lyndsey Evison, and I filmed the video.

- Quick. Want to get in. - Do I need to call Ghostbusters?

I thought this was a really interesting clip,

seeing the clothing line shake so violently.

I find that if a place is really haunted

and has a lot of energy, regardless of the time of day,

whether it's day or night, activity will happen,

even in broad daylight.

Ohh!

When I first saw this video, I was a little bit skeptical

just because she wasn't showing the entire clothesline,

but then she showed the bottom of it

and it's very clearly shaking with, like, nothing touching it,

and I've personally never seen anything like this before.

There's definitely something sinister about this.

So, what is it that causes these types of hauntings?

Experts focus on the house's history.

You've had generations of kids playing in that yard.

You've had backyard barbecues.

You've undoubtedly had people who have gone off

to war and not come home.

If you're gonna look for reasons

why there would be paranormal activity in a place like this,

I'm sure you would have a very fertile ground.

The woman does mention that her home

is near a demolished church,

so that certainly could add some ghostly activity to the area.

And given that this is in the UK,

there's tons of history to pull from.

But even if Lyndsey and her family

did move out of the house, is it possible that a spirit

could follow them to their new place?

Maybe someone in a family who's had a track record

of paranormal things that break out wherever they go,

they may be what we call trigger people,

who have something in their energy field that --

we don't know what it is --

but something triggers whatever might be present.

For her part, Lyndsey is still questioning

what she has experienced since that day.

Coming up, weird alien blobs fall from the sky.

It is often said that people fear what they don't understand,

and sometimes that's for a good reason.

When confronted with the unknown,

especially when it comes from the sky,

there are instances where it might be practical

to suspect a genuine threat.

After all, if you don't know what it is,

how can you be sure it's harmless?

That's why one particular unknown substance

is raising so much alarm.

People are always suspicious about stuff

that falls from the sky.

The chem trails or contrails that they see in the sky,

there are all kinds of conspiracy theories

that the government is somehow

dropping some sort of biological agent to control people's lives.

We've had documentation of many weird sky-falls.

Charles Fort was an American journalist

who collected stories of this kind in the mid 20th century.

They started being called Fortean phenomena

because they were unexplained,

and these would be unusual things

that shouldn't be raining down on people,

including animals -- live toads, frogs, fish falls.

Some of them could be explained by an upsweep of air

that might catch something and carry it a distance

and then drop it, but there are other substances

that have fallen that have eluded explanation,

like these jellylike substances.

Indeed, mysterious blob-like substances have been found

in several places throughout the globe.

And its origins and composition have left people baffled.

From a man in Queens, New York, in 2018...

It fell from the sky. I saw it in the snow.

It's soft like jelly.

...to a couple at their getaway property in West Virginia.

There's some kind of jelly fungus

here at the base of our raspberry bushes.

It's just really weir--

Looks like crystals, but it's soft jelly.

Diane and Randall Wingett discovered

an unidentified jellylike mass on the ground

near their home in 2014.

Look at that.

- What is that stuff? - Somebody dumped something here.

Very strange.

Hello. I'm Diane Wingett, and this is my husband,

Randall Wingett, next to me.

I'm the one in the video checking my garden.

For about 12 years, we owned 15 acres of undeveloped land

in West Virginia in a location called Hidden Hollows.

We'd go out to our property almost every weekend,

and this particular weekend,

we encountered this weird substance.

It was cold.

It was really cold.Yeah, very cold to the touch.

And it felt wet, but it wasn't wet.

We washed our hands quickly after that

because we knew we probably shouldn't have touched it.

I knew it had to come from the sky,

the way they had landed on the ground in two spots.

This was on the top of our property,

where it's very dry ground,

so it couldn't have formed in the soil itself

'cause it's just too dry, so it had to have been put there,

plopped there somehow.

Watching this video, I didn't know what I was looking at.

The general theory is that it came from the sky.

And at first, people thought it's just waste from a plane,

but it's an F.A.A. rule that anything dumped from a plane

from their waste systems has to be dyed blue,

so it would have been easily identified were it that.

The fact that it was gelatinous and clear, almost,

and it seemed to all be bound together.

They would touch it, and the whole mass would move.

It could be a colloidal substance

that was meant to carry something.

Some of the theories that I've seen are that

this was meant to carry a virus,

this was meant to transmit something to the population,

and it's a conspiracy theory, of course, until we know more,

but it's a scary one.

We've had small planes fly over our property,

and we've had helicopters, military planes.

We've had satellites go over.

It didn't look like anybody had been in my garden

and threw it in there.

I just thought the only way it could have gotten

to that spot was dropping from the sky.

This video reminds me of something

that took place in Washington state in the mid-'90s.

During a rainstorm, some strange substance fell from the sky,

a globular, jellylike substance.

A lot of people ended up handling this and got very sick.

And in fact, pets, cats and dogs,

that came in contact with the substance

actually ended up dying.

And they never did find out exactly what it was

or where it came from.

The Air Force in Washington did say

that they were doing testing at that time,

but they denied a connection

between that and the jelly substance.

It's just really weir-- Looks like crystals,

but it's soft jelly.

That was the only time the Wingetts personally

came into contact with the substance.

By the time we came back the next weekend,

it was gone, not a trace of it.

But as long as there have been no definitive answers offered,

the conversation continues on.

Things that fall from the sky and cause sicknesses

and are mysterious never give us superpowers.

Nothing ever good comes out of things falling out of the sky.

There's a lot of thought around this

that lends itself very well to conspiracy theories.

Maybe this is something that the government is testing

that they really can't be on the books about.

Maybe this is something extraterrestrial in origin

that's meant to subvert the population

and weaken us for an invasion.

Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe.

The possibilities are endless, but the facts are few.

for a reason.

In addition to being lovable companions,

dogs are often asked to be our eyes and ears

on the guard against physical threats.

But protecting against physical threats

might not be the only utility that our canine pals

are uniquely suited for.

One Canadian man knows this firsthand.

You okay? What is it?

Guys want to go pee-pee? Okay, let's go pee-pee.

In 2008, a man in Ontario, Canada,

was filming his two dogs in his bedroom

when he placed the still-running camera on the bed

before taking the dogs outside.

What the camera caught next may have served

as a sinister forewarning.

A shadowy figure appeared to cross the doorway

of an adjacent room.

Watch again in slow motion.

The shadow moved with such energy that a nearby picture

frame suddenly swayed by itself on the wall.

You can actually see some sort of entity

that's actually moving across the doorway.

So perhaps this gentleman has some sort of haunting

attached to his apartment.

Six weeks later, in the same spot in his bedroom,

the man started to notice some strange behavior

from one of his dogs,

specifically, that it was petrified.

What's the matter, girl?

What is it?

Animals don't respond

irrationally or fearfully for no reason.

They don't reach that level of anxiety

unless there's some sort of cause for it.

or it's energized by the land.

a house cleansing.

Does something need to be convinced to relocate

All these things need to be taken into consideration

in evaluating why some activity is occurring.

Even if he did eventually rid the house

of his poltergeist problem,

his dogs will be on the case.
