the St. Pete Starlight Ball

is about celebrating
our incredible community

and the incredible people
that we have here in it.

And tonight, I'd like
to call attention to

and honour
a very special person.

Ms. Peyton Hilliard.

Now, Peyton's delicious pastries
and treats

are legendary in town, some even
say that they're magical.

[quiet clamouring]

But we all know that the magic
is in how she effortlessly

touches so many lives
with her kindness.

So I've invited
a few folks up here

to say some words
about her tonight.

- The thing about Peyton is,
you can tell her

what's going on in your life
and she always knows

just the right thing to fix it.

It seems silly that cookies

and cakes could solve your
problems, but sometimes a person

just needs a little something
to make them smile.

And that is Peyton's
special talent.

[soft piano music]

- Peyton has always been like
a sister to me.

I've never known anyone
that listens like she can.

And she never gets bored
or thinks that you're silly.

And she always has time, no
matter how busy the bakery is.

- I hadn't spoken
to my father in years.

For some reason,
I told Peyton about it.

You know, she's the type
you can tell those things too.

She gave me a batch of her
Mending Fences Cookie Bars

and told me to take them over
to his house.

We sat down over those cookies,
and couldn't even remember

what we were fighting about.

I got my dad back.

She's helped me and I know

been there for me.
