Neya, Unzha, Poksha, Vokhtoma,

Viga, Mera, Vaya, Sogozha -

these are beautiful names,
left from Merya -

a Finn tribe, completely assimilated
among the Slavs 400 years ago.

Villages-orphans, a couple of rites
and rivers with forgotten names -

that's all that's left of them.
