All language subtitles for 10 ediiting

Hi guys, welcome to the editing part of

this workshop.

We'll be going over multiple pictures from the

whole wedding, so you will see us editing

in the different lighting situations.

So this is a selection of pics which

we're going to do together.

We choose about 100 pictures and we'll edit

them with our C&R preset.

However, I'm going to show you how we

tweak the preset in each pic, so you

can also use this information for the presets

you're working with.

Before we import the pictures into Lightroom, we

use Photo Mechanic to select the pictures.

This is an amazing tool as the pictures

show up very quickly without any loading time.

I'm going to show you.

So these are our pictures and when I

double tap here, you can just go through

it like bam, bam, bam, bam.

No loading time.

Yeah, so here we rate the pics by

pressing on the numbers like one for one

set, two for two and so on.

After that, we're going to import the pics

to Lightroom.

So here we go.

After the import to Lightroom, you can sort

the pictures for example by capture time, edit

order.

Yeah, we always press custom order here.

Oh, just saw that I have to reset

these two pictures to default.

So yes, perfect.

So here we already have brought the pictures

in the right order, so we will start

editing right away.

Yes, as you can see, this is really

colorful.

So wish me luck.

Editing this wedding was pretty hard and it

has cost me a lot of time.

By the way, we both do editing, but

yeah, I edited this one.

So usually a full wedding coverage takes us

about two days editing, but this one has

cost me four days or something.

Yes, you will see what I'm talking about

as the lighting conditions were really hard.

Okay, now we're going to the develop area.

Just a side note, we always use the

automatic white balance of our camera in each

and every situation.

As you can see, that mostly works pretty

well.

And as for the editing, we basically use

just only one preset.

This is our C&R basic preset, which

we have created during the last years and

use it in each and every picture.

So everything is based on this preset, but

we have tweaked it for the different lighting

situations.

So we actually have four different color presets

in this preset pack.

So here we go with the C&R

basic.

This pic was photographed pretty dark, so we

just have to increase the exposure here.

Also, I will crop it and turn it

like this.

Perfect.

Okay, same here.

I just use the C&R basic and

then increase the exposure a little.

As you can see, the preset makes your

pic a little darker by scrolling over this

triangle.

Here you can see the amount of black

in your pic.

So here I would reduce the blacks a

little.

Yes, it's a matter of taste.

For me, it doesn't matter if there are

some blue dots here.

Yes, here I would use a black and

white preset and crop it a little bit.

If I would decide to block this picture,

I would retouch this lamp in Photoshop.

Yes, we also use the slide room tool,

but here Photoshop would work better.

Yeah, next one.

Here you can see that there's some green

light reflecting from the window and the preset

even increases tons.

And you can see it in the neck.

There's a lot of green and yellow on

the skin and I'm gonna fix that by

decreasing the saturation of orange, green and yellow.

Mostly it's yellow that creates those shitty tones,

as you can see here.

Also look at this.

I would set this controller a little more

to orange.

Yes.

And now it's getting better.

And if you change your white balance to

reduce the yellow, you have to be careful

to not get a blue shirt here.

But in this case, it works pretty well.

Now the settings for the sliding saturation are

good, so I would copy and paste it

to the other pics.

And yeah, that looks pretty cool.

Gonna show you the before and after.

Yes, that's the one where Chris has put

the blanket at the window, as you can

see here in the reflection in his eyes.

Before, it was without the blanket.

I think it's pretty cool.

Maybe I would decrease the magenta tones a

little here.

Yes, and the shades and the blacks a

little down.

I just copy and paste it to the

legs and and I would crop it to

not have the TV in the back.

It was a tiny room, as you can

see.

Yes, sometimes it's better to not copy and

paste and just start with a basic preset

again.

If you think it's too grainy, as the

ISO was pretty high here, you could use

a noise reduction here and also I would

decrease the shadows and I would brighten up

the highlights here a bit.

Yes, let's see.

And I would desaturate the orange here and

increase the luminance of the orange.

Yes, perfect.

This would be a good one for black

and white as well.

So here we go with the girls getting

ready.

I also use the CNR Basic here.

If you're not sure about the white balance,

you can use this tool here and click

on a white pixel in your pic.

Here I also had the problem with the

green window light, but yes, you already know

how to solve it.

Perfect, it's getting better.

Great, now I'm gonna copy and paste it.

Here I would definitely remove the socket by

using this tool.

Yes, also I would desaturate the orange a

little and increase the noise reduction a little

bit.

Yes, cool.

Now crop it a little.

Cool, great.

What I always do is using the copy

and paste short keys to copy the basic

preset easily.

Here I don't tick the white balance button

as the lighting is always different.

Yes, same here.

I just copy and paste the basic preset

here and decrease the exposure.

Yes, now we're getting a little faster.

Here we also have these bad crittons in

the picture, so you can always check these

controllers here to solve problems like this.

Doesn't matter which preset you're using, these controllers

are the best to correct colors.

And when we tweak our preset, we mostly

change these basic controllers and the color area

here and sometimes here, where we don't touch

the curves and as the curves give the

special look.

And yes, that's it.

Now I'm gonna copy and paste it to

all the other Getting Ready pics.

This one I would keep a little bit

darker.

Yes, and I would increase the noise reduction

a bit and also I would decrease the

saturation of orange here.

Perfect.

I really love this one.

However, you can see the messy background here.

Yes, it was pretty hard to shoot in

the other direction in this room.

So I would take this brush tool here

to darken the background a little.

Here we go.

So the focus is much more on our

beautiful bright now.

I would increase the contrast here and also

I would have to remove the shitty bucket

by using this mask tool.

Yeah, I love this one.

Now, we always rate pictures with three stars.

If we want to use it for our

blog posts and pictures that we need to

photoshop, we rate them with five stars.

Here, for example, you could retouch her skin

a little bit by using the brush tool.

Yes, so this brush is perfect.

Okay, before and after.

I would decrease the highlights here and also

I really don't like the curtain rod, so

I would remove this also with the brush

tool.

Okay, awesome.

And if you're really a perfectionist, you could

remove this edge in photoshop in order to

get the pic more clean.

And here I just need to crop a

little and increase the exposure setting a bit.

Yes, she's so cute.

Next one.

Yeah, I also need to increase the exposure.

Pretty.

Here we are at the wedding venue.

We just used the Sienna Basic here.

Same here.

That's pretty quick.

And this one, I would remove this red

thing in the background.

We mostly use the brush tool here.

Usually we try to avoid to have stuff

like this in the background because then we

don't need to add it a lot.

Yes, here you can see that the light

chains create a really yellow light, so we

have to correct the white balance here to

get the pic a little colder.

But also we've had window light from the

right side.

This mixture of different light temperatures was really

tricky.

I would desaturate the blue color here.

Yes.

Yes, it was a light mixture during the

ceremony.

I'm gonna copy and paste it again.

Let's see.

Yeah, here we need the white balance even

more cold.

Yes, you can see we don't like it

too yellow, but we like warm tones of

course.

And I would increase the highlights here a

bit and also add some more white to

make it a bit more shiny.

Yes, here I just use Sienna Basic.

You can see it's pretty quick if there's

a consistent light situation.

For example, the summer wedding which we went

through together before was super easy to edit

and just has cost us like 10 hours

editing.

Our live wedding here was really the hardest

wedding of the year in terms of lighting

conditions.

But yeah, guess there are even more learnings

for you guys.

Here you can see we use ISO 3200

at the ceremony.

Let's see how the preset works.

I choose a basic here and now just

use this white balance brush and click on

his shirt.

And you can see what happens.

It's pretty good.

I would add a little more magenta here

as it's a bit green.

Yeah.

You could use this tool really good

to get a feeling for the white balance.

You could also crop this pig to be

more focused on the crew.

Also, I would decrease the highlights here, increase

the luminance of the orange, and then I

need to increase the noise reduction.

If it's too grainy, you can also change

the amount of grain here.

Yes.

Okay.

Okay, now I'm gonna copy and paste it

to some pigs.

Okay, this time I take the same white

balance by taking the small box here.

Yes, I like it.

But you can see the blue light coming

from this left side from the window.

Here I'm gonna show you.

You can see where the blue lights hit

the room.

So I will decelerate the blue here to

solve this problem.

Also, I would increase the warmth by changing

the white balance a bit.

Perfect.

Sweet.

Here, same lighting situation as we had before.

I would crop it to have the focus

more on the couple.

You can do it right this way.

In this one there's a lot of magenta,

so you have to decrease the magenta.

Increase the green.

Yes, it's getting better.

I will show you before and after.

I would decelerate the blue here, I think,

and also would remove the breacher's hand here.

But first, decelerate the blue.

And here we go with the breacher's hand.

All right.

Once the settings are done, I always use

the think button and synchronize settings.

Oh, here's the breacher's hand again.

I would crop this one too.

Yes, here you can see that her skin

is a little bit magenta.

You could decelerate the magenta here a bit.

Yes, checking how it works.

A little bit is okay.

That was too much.

Okay, we'll let it like this because her

face has a nice color.

And yes, here I

would add a little bit more green.

That was already too much.

Really nice.

These guys didn't have an exchange of the

rings.

They got tattooed and here they revealed the

tattoo.

I would just crop this a little closer.

They are so cute.

If the picture isn't clean enough, just crop

it.

Okay, now the iMac is loading because of

the video.

Here's a before and after.

As you can see, the picture is much

clearer now and we also decelerated the blue

on her dress.

But you have to be careful to not

get too close.

Okay, here we also just use the C

&R Basic and then I take this white

balance brush again and click at a white

pixel like his t-shirt here.

Of course, this doesn't always work perfectly.

So here I would edit it a little

bit warmer.

Also, I would crop this a little.

Yes, so pretty.

Here I'm going to synchronize the settings to

the pictures.

Okay, let's see how it works.

I really often crop pictures like this.

At the wedding I didn't want to disturb,

so I decided to not comb that close.

But I really focus on the hands, so

I can crop it later to have that

beautiful close-up on her wedding tattoo.

Yes, and I need to decelerate the orange

a little bit.

But first, yes, and it's getting better.

Perfect.

Also here, I just crop this to get

them a little bit more in the middle

of the picture.

So good.

Yeah, the next one is already perfect.

Okay, here you just have to decrease the

exposure level and also I would crop the

pic like this, just to get the pic

a little bit cleaner.

And now there's the exit.

It looks also almost perfect with the settings.

Just increase the exposure.

That's it.

Now, as you can see, they are walking

outside again.

So it's natural light again.

Here we can use the C&R Basic

and you may already know, I would remove

this red thing in the background by using

this mask tool.

Just decrease the saturation here and bam.

That's perfect.

The full focus is on the couple now.

Here just the basic and lots of rain

on that hand.

Okay, after that, we went inside the tippy

tant.

It's with available light.

It's the picture Chris already did before the

ceremony.

Check your white balance pipette.

Everybody who already shoot in a tippy tant

knows that it's like a yellow umbrella.

It reflects yellow everywhere.

Now it looks better.

Yes, I can sync it with the other

decoration shots.

All right, it works well here.

This one I'm going to crop so it's

more symmetric.

Wait for it.

Beautiful.

I like this already.

Here we've used flash.

So I would use the C&R Flash

Plus over here.

The available light here.

Yeah, that's just the perfect fit.

I crop it a little.

Okay, in this group pic, I use a

basic preset and then click with the little

pipette here.

Yes, we use flash here.

That makes the editing way more easy.

So we could have used the other preset

as well.

Here outside, I use the C&R Basic

and then just increase the exposure a bit

and add a little bit more shadow here.

Just grab it.

Awesome.

Now I just copy and paste it over

here.

And it's working.

Here you can see that this 50mm lens

from Sigma Art is a bit warmer than

my Canon lens.

So you have to be careful when you

sync the pics, because sometimes different lenses create

different colors.

Yeah, at least from my experience as well.

All right, this one I would crop a

little closer.

Perfect.

I would add a bit more white here

to get the picture more shiny.

Yeah, also here it's already perfect.

So you can see, if you have a

consistent lighting situation and don't change your camera

settings, then it's pretty easy to edit.

Okay, and I'll copy the settings over here.

Okay, just a little brighter.

Here I also use C&R Basic and

the pipette again.

Here I definitely have to decrease the saturation

of orange.

Okay, and crop it.

Okay, the basic one also works in this

one.

I also de-saturate orange.

Inside the tent it's pretty hot.

If I use a basic one, it's just

too orange.

I really like the pictures without flash.

So this one is without flash.

So I use a preset here and then

I take the white balance pipette and just

click here.

Yeah, super pretty.

Also we need the noise reduction here, all

right.

Yes, the ISO was pretty high.

Now I can copy this to all the

other indoor pics.

These should be without flash as well.

Yes, just a little darker here and a

little bit warmer.

Perfect.

Same here, some details.

Yes, they had a table buffet.

Really like that.

Awesome, love this pic.

And as you already know, we went outside

again at dusk and it was quite dark

already.

I use a basic preset here and when

I use the pipette, you can see where

the white balance goes.

You can see we already had ISO 800.

I would decrease the amount of crane and

also would use the noise reduction in this

one.

Also I would add a little bit more

magenta and a little bit more white.

Okay, great.

And this little white tent in the back

got retouched in Photoshop later.

Now I gonna sync the settings.

Okay, as you can see, it was pretty

dark already.

Also here in the before and after, you

can see light was not easy here.

And even the best preset can't save you,

but I really like the pictures as well.

And if you don't like this dark

vignette, you can decrease the vignette here and

yes, get the exposure down a little.

And if the colors might become a bit

too dark at dusk, you can decrease the

contrast here a little bit.

Yes, now I'm gonna synchronize the settings.

Beautiful.

I would crop this a bit.

This one should be a bit brighter, so

just increase the exposure.

Yes, and here you could turn the controller

more into yellow, as the skin is too

creamy in my opinion.

Also, you could decelerate the green a bit

if it's still too creamy in the back.

Also, you could play a little bit with

this luminance here.

Yeah, but we need a little bit more

saturation here, especially more orange.

Okay, then I'm gonna copy and paste this

over again.

But we need a little bit more saturation

All right, as you can see, in the

end, we already photographed with ISO 2000.

Then we went back to the tent.

I think these two outdoor bakes here.

And inside the tent, I use the C9

Night Available Light preset, and then use the

pipette again to get the right white balance.

Okay, I would edit this a little warmer.

Okay, here we go with ISO 20000.

So we definitely need the noise reduction here.

I retouched this white tent later again.

As you can see, it has rained that

much that the road was completely full of

mud.

Then inside the tent again, we do the

same as we did before, Available Light preset,

and then click with a pipette on his

shirt.

All right.

So you could decrease the saturation of red

and orange here a little bit.

That's it.

Great.

Same here with our bridal couple.

Again, with the white balance.

That's really awesome, isn't it?

Then I'm going to copy the settings to

the pics with a similar lighting situation.

Great.

This one is a little too magenta.

Also, I would crop it a little bit.

I love this pic.

Yeah, I would desaturate the red a bit

as her skin is really red.

And also, we definitely need to use a

noise reduction here.

Here, I'm gonna try this, you know, basic.

And now I just change the white balance.

Okay, this one is pretty black and white.

And I would try to remove the small

tent from the background by using this mask

tool.

Ah, it's working.

Okay, inside the tent again.

I need everything a little warmer here.

So I just changed the white balance a

little.

Here, I'm gonna click on the cheese with

the white balance pipette, and it works.

Next one.

Here, we use flash.

So I take the flash plus available light

preset, which we use for the dinner and

party a lot.

And you can see it's a bit cold.

So just change the white balance a bit.

Here, we also use flash.

As it's really orange in the background, I

would decrease the saturation of orange here.

Here we go.

Then I'm gonna copy and paste again.

This one is too dark.

So I just increase the exposure here.

Also, I would brush over her face here

and brighten it up a little.

Also, I decrease the saturation a little bit

here.

Again, with the orange in the back.

That's always hard if you use flash.

Here, we use harsh flashlight.

So that makes editing easier.

I just copy this here now, basic here.

All right.

Here, we use indirect flash.

The colors look pretty good here.

Here, we use harsh light again, a harsh

flashlight again.

So I just use a basic preset and

add a little bit more warmth to the

pic by increasing the white balance.

This one, we shot with available light.

I use a night available light preset.

And as you can see, we always use

the white balance pipette in the evening and

add a little bit more warmth to it.

All right.

So here's the first dance.

It's photographed with available light too.

So I'm gonna sync the settings over to

this pics here.

And don't forget to use a noise reduction

here and add a little bit more warmth

after that.

And I think we also need to add

a little bit white to this pic.

Yes.

Okay.

And here, we need the white balance pipette

again.

Yes.

Just increase the exposure a little.

Sometimes, I just need to start again with

a fresh, untweaked preset.

I use the C&R basic.

And as for the white balance, I press

a shot.

I take the pipette again and click here.

Increase the exposure a little.

And I add a little white and de

-saturate the orange.

And maybe we need to add a little

green here to counteract the red phases.

And decrease the contrast a bit after that.

Yes.

And also decrease the highlights a little.

Now, I like it.

Once you have found the perfect settings, you

can just sync the settings to similar pics.

Great.

This was so fast.

As you already know, during the party, we

just use harsh flashlight.

So, this will be pretty easy to edit.

We use our C&R basic here.

And it's almost perfect.

Just increase the exposure a little.

Now, I can sync the settings to the

rest of the pics.

Yeah.

And they are perfect.

The last one is a little bit too

bright.
