Geez, it's freezing.
Wow, I can't believe people are swimming on such a cold day.
That was when I saw her. . .
Stretching out behind her
the vast savannas of Africa.
Wandering Student
vol.4 ^Swimming in the Sea of Love^
Her eyes contained an animalistic glint.
I felt as though the beast that lurks within us all
would come oozing out of the body hidden beneath leather garments.
And that awakened the animal lurking within my heart!
I wanna see!
I JUST GOTTA SEE!
The untamed wilderness kept within those clothes!
What do you want?
Oh, I was. . .
I was hoping I could work here.
I was hoping I could work here.
I was just making up stuff to say,
but I sure was glad
that this swimming school was looking for instructors.
Wow, she's cool !
Swimming like a killer whale at sea.
This was. . .
This was the beast that I had sensed in her.
It's brilliant!
Yes, yes!
The streamlined beauty of her trim body.
Plus. . .
Plus, to top it off, no nipple covers!
Well, let's have you swim for us now.
Okay!
Damn it all !
So? How's my swimming?
You know, you ought to be taking swimming classes, not teaching them.
Here, this is a brochure for our school.
Oh, please! Let me work here!
I'll do anything ! I'll clean your pool ! Your ears!
Launder swimwear! Underwear!
Oh, to hell with this!
Bring me the person in charge of this swimming school !
That would be me.
This wild lady is. . .
I'm the chief instructor and I'm in charge of this school.
I can't hire you as a swimming coach for this school,
and all the janitorial and clerical positions are full.
Yes, but you could. . .
Please, leave now.
Okay?
+Okay?
Oome on, you could. . .
Please, leave now.
Today, I may be a weak little bug that gets tossed in the wind,
washed away by the currents, and drowns,
but tomorrow, I may become the butterfly
that spreads its colossal wings and flies the open skies!
She's not buying it.
That's why you should learn how to. . .
I challenge you, Ohief I nstructor!
One month from now, I'll beat you in a race!
What?!
J ust because I'm not good at it now,
doesn't mean I might not become an awesome super-swimmer some day!
But you cast me away without a thought!
You're not qualified to be instructing others!
Hey, you, that's going too far!
It's okay.
Oontinue.
I'll study while I work here!
You don't even have to pay me!
And in one month's time, I'll beat you!
When I win, please hire me as a coach!
That's very interesting.
And what if you lose?
I'll work free for a year on any chore you see fit to assign me.
Put my nose to the grindstone.
All right! A match in one month!
That gave me the chills! Those are the eyes!
Her wild, killer instincts scored a direct hit on my heart!
I think I'm going to come!
Are you sure this is all right, Ohief?
It's fine.
Don't you know?
The chief won the gold medal
in the 200-meter individual medley at the Olympics.
She's Ayuko Hayami.
A gold medallist?
My name is Kintaro Oe.
I'm twenty-five years old.
I'm an easy-going, job-hopping part-timer.
Right now, I'm a coach at a swimming school.
This school has an advancement system
based on the student's swimming capabilities.
+Okay, let's bubble bubble. . .
The first class is Level O. +Okay, let's bubble bubble. . .
The first class is Level O.
+. . . bubble bubble. . .
Once you can hold your face under for three seconds, +. . . bubble bubble. . .
Once you can hold your face under for three seconds,
you move on to Level B.
After that, hold under for ten seconds up to your ears puts you into Level A.
Stay afloat for ten seconds puts you at Level 1 2,
and flutter kick for 25 meters brings you to Level 1 1 .
And so on, and so on.
Since I can't swim properly,
I'm teaching kids in Levels O, B, and A.
I started this job because I was attracted to the Ohief I nstructor,
but I've found that the kids are really cute and fun.
Many of the other teachers are women,
Many of the other teachers are women, +Hey, that's pretty good !
+Hey, that's pretty good !
and they teach me how to swim when they have time.
Loosen the muscles in your shoulders and relax.
Okay!
They've all got great figures.
And the racing swimsuits they wear sure are thin!
All that cleavage. . . All that crotch. . .
It's all there to see!
I don't know if it's because they don't like the pool or something,
but some kids suddenly throw up,
and the smell of that stuff makes me gag.
You get snot-drippings. . .
Wettings. . .
Dumpings. . .
And they all smell like kids.
But after you get used to it, it's not too bad !
Hey, I'm a sea lion!
Bye-bye!
+Bye-bye!
+Oe!
Oh, the Ohief's calling me! +Oe!
Oh, the Ohief's calling me!
Is she going to praise me?
Yes, what is it?
Well?
Well? +Your manner of teaching is too childish.
+Your manner of teaching is too childish.
Wow, she's pissed !
This is not a day care center!
The parents aren't bringing their children here to play.
They're paying us good money to teach them to swim.
Well, but. . .
I thought it might be better to get familiar with the water first.
You have far too few students that advance in your class!
Are you really even trying?
+That's not it at all !
Our educational goal is to nurture topnotch athletes. +That's not it at all !
Our educational goal is to nurture topnotch athletes.
+Yes, Ma'am! I will nurture topnotch athletes!
It's pointless unless you can produce results.
+I will produce results!
Life is a race! There's no room for losers! +I will produce results!
Life is a race! There's no room for losers!
+There's no room for losers!
Do you really think so?
No, actually I don't!
Well, you know. . .
When the one month is up, if I were to win against you,
and you became the loser, I'd feel kind of bad, so. . .
I mpressive confidence. . .
I mpressive? Really?
Whatever! Keep practicing as best you can.
Yes, Ma'am! I'll do my best and produce results!
Okay, now let's put our face in the water!
There, there. . .
It sure is tough to get results.
Okay, that's it, flutter those legs.
With the kids who can't do it,
if you have to, put your hand on their heads and force them under.
They'll learn.
Oh, really?
Okay, let's bubble bubble!
There!
1 . . .
2. . .
3. . .
4. . .
5. . .
6. . .
7. . .
8. . .
9. . .
1 0!
There! You did it!
And wasn't that so easy?
Is that a good idea?
It might make them hate the pool.
Oh, it's all right.
The Ohief's told us that if the kids can't handle it,
they can just quit.
I see.
How educational.
Those over the time limit,
do it once more!
Wow, the competitive course is strict.
And everybody's giving it their best!
Their eyes all shine with enthusiasm.
No matter how hard it is!
I get it!
That's it!
That's it! That's it!
+Yes, Mistress !
Ohief! Boss me around too!
No running on the sides of the pool !
Please, let me join in too!
Oome to think about it, it's been nearly a month.
All that blowing steam about a match race. . .
You must be getting anxious and want to brown-nose instead !
Well, you won't get anywhere,
but I'll teach you as a reward for your eagerness.
All right, get in the pool.
Thank you very much!
It's. . . It's almost like another person, you've improved so much!
It's amazing that you could advance this much in a month's time.
Still, you're no match for me.
Thank you for your instruction!
You still want to swim?
It's a tough workout,
but somehow, I find swimming to be absolutely captivating.
What the. . .
If you can keep up with me, I'll admit you've got guts!
Ohief!
I love this!
I'm right behind you!
The Ohief's crotch. . . .
I can see it all !
AH'M VERNI N' H UP!
Oh, my God !
You sure it's okay to spread your legs out so far?!
I'm. . . I'm burning up!
You've gotten quite fast,
but don't think you can win against me!
I'm just adjusting my pace to match yours right now.
The Ohief's crotch!
What?!
I'm sorry.
You're pretty good.
I'll admit you've got guts.
Thank you very much!
But that speed was only half of what I'm really capable of.
Don't think that you have me beat.
Sanctuary. . .
The pool's sanctuary. . .
What were you thinking about in the pool's sanctuary?!
The wild beast within you has awakened the wild beast in me!
The eyes of a beast!
Damn it!
Man, I am so totally fired.
Oh, well, maybe I'll come back once things calm down.
We have a lot of students advancing out of the novice classes this time.
Yes, we adjusted our curriculum slightly.
How did you change it?
Show me.
See. . . We started a game where they pick up rings from under the water.
Even the kids who have a hard time putting their faces in the water
naturally become able to do it
as they have fun playing with the rings in the shallows.
We can make it harder for kids who don't have a problem
by placing the rings deeper, moving them around,
and increasing the number of rings.
And they learn to have fun with their eyes open underwater.
Also, we now teach them to relax on the water facing upwards.
By doing this, we've been able to make it easier for children
that don't like having water go in their ears when they submerge.
The children look like they're having a great time.
They look as if they're really enjoying themselves!
Dad. . .
It reminds me of the first time my father took me to the pool.
I've been in love with swimming ever since then.
Yes. . . Oome to think of it, learning to like water
is the first step toward becoming a topnotch swimmer.
Perhaps my teaching methods have been a little too rigid.
But I don't recall having anyone at this school
clever enough to come up with ideas like these.
By the way, who started this?
Well. . .
It was pioneered by Ooach Oe, who quit recently,
and everyone else started copying it since it was so successful.
Ooach Oe was also working with other tools and music,
trying to come up with more new techniques.
Ohief. . .
There's a parent in the front lobby who wants to thank you!
All right.
I'm sorry to have taken so long.
Ooach, I don't know how to thank you!
My child has finally stopped being afraid of water,
and now she's become a devoted fan of the pool !
Oome, say hello to the coach.
I'm so glad for you.
Where's Ooachie Kintaroo?
I lost!
You defeated me outright.
Kintaro Oe. . .
J ust like you said, I had it all wrong.
You won!
I'll hire you as a coach like I said I would.
No, I would invite you back,
but I guess it's all too late now.
Ooach Oe. . .
Study, study, study, study!
Kintaro Oe, twenty-five years old.
Tokyo University Department of Law dropout.
However, he independently withdrew from school,
because he had mastered the entire curriculum.
Since then, he has been changing jobs numerous times,
Iearning about life.
Studying is his hobby.
He is extremely healthy, both physically and mentally.
And perhaps someday, he may save Japan, or even the world. . .
Study, study, study, study!

I see stars on the back of my eyelids
When I drink milk I put my hand on my hip
Why? What is this? Who started this?

I saw a shooting star on a Kyoto mountain pass!
The wind weaved through her long hair as she rode that Bimota.
Oh, crazy! And sexy!
Please, dear shooting star, let me see her once more!
