Hello friends, how are you?

How are things going?

How is the summer going?

How is everything going?

I hope the weddings go as well as

possible.

Well, here we are busy now with the

editing, selection, delivery, hiring, photographing weddings.

This week we have a one-to-one

with a girl from Panama.

So we can't complain because things are going

well and we're going to touch wood because

everything continues like this.

In today's video I'm not going to talk

about photography or weddings.

Well, about weddings, yes, because it's related, but

I'm not going to talk about any technical

aspect or anything like that.

I would like to share with you a

reflection that I have been thinking about for

a long time, but that after what I

have experienced a few days ago or a

few weeks ago, I think it is a

good opportunity to share this.

First of all, I have always tried to

give a positive character in all the videos

I have made.

You can see that in none of the

videos that I have posted on Patreon in

the year and a half or a little

more that we have with all this stuff,

I have not shared a negative experience with

you because I have always tried to be

positive.

But in the pandemic it was not to

create a negative halo of all this that

surrounds us.

But I think it's time to share with

you some of the experiences that sometimes make

you rethink many things.

I also have to say that the experiences

that I am going to tell you, as

everyone knows, are related to couples.

And everything is related because maybe sometimes we

get more involved than we should with some

couples.

It is true that these not so positive

experiences are with a minority, that is, it

is not good to generalize because it would

be false or it would be bad to

say that all our couples create negative experiences

because it is just the opposite.

But that little minority that makes you think

a lot about all this.

And you also have to say that the

culprit of all this, there is only one

culprit, which is me, for having gotten more

involved than I should and for having thought

that perhaps those people were going to correspond

in the same way that I thought they

were going to correspond.

What do I mean?

And you will understand it right away.

A few days ago we took a picture

of the wedding of someone very close to

us.

I remember that when he hired us, he

was super happy and all this, and I

told him, hey, I give you the pre

-wedding and I'm going to give you a

discount on the albums.

And also, and also, and also, perfect, the

wedding came out, the lovely couple, but what

a curiosity that person has a business that

I am not going to mention, but when

we wanted to request the services for such

a business a few days ago, I thought

it would correspond.

I mean, I thought that those discounts that

I made, those gifts that I made, in

a way, that is, it would have benefited

now that I wanted to have the services

of that person.

I was surprised when there was no facility,

no help, no discount, and I looked like

an asshole.

I said, fuck, I was not like that,

when he hired me, I did not, I

mean, I tried to do this.

And it is that, I repeat that this

is our thing, I mean, not ours, that

I cannot generalize, because I do not know

if you do the same nonsense that I

do.

When I mean, for example, nonsense, it is

that when sometimes I have a couple in

front of me that I think we are

super connected, sometimes, I do not know if

it's like good Latino, and I do not

want, no, let's not talk about race either,

but about the stupidity of the human being

as such, because sometimes when I come up

and I think that couple is, and I

start to tell him, when the rates pass,

well, I'm going to, if we need to

stay for one more hour, well, we end

up staying for one more hour.

And if it is necessary, I do not

know what, I mean, to include an album

sheet, we include it.

And I will not be hypocritical, that on

some occasions, few, but there have been, we

have come to give away a casual pre

-wedding session several days before the wedding, and

then it is some, not always, of those

couples, you arrive later, as an example, right?

I mean, recently we arrived at a wedding

that we gave everything and beyond, and at

the moment I remember how the boyfriends gave

details or gave gifts to all suppliers, to

all, to the makeup artist, to the hairdresser,

to the maître, to the chef, to the

wedding planner, except for the photographers.

I was not looking for that, but you

look like an asshole, you say, damn, so

that I have made so much effort, so

that, I mean, so that I have given

you, or I have told you this, or

I have told you that, so that later

you do not correspond.

I mean, we are not looking for that,

because maybe if there had not been a

detail for all suppliers, I would not have

realized that.

But, and because I was not looking for

it either, as I was not looking for

them to invite me to eat, in a,

I mean, the same food as the boyfriends.

And what's more, I mean, at a wedding,

we don't have time to be able to

taste a menu like a lobster.

We are not looking for that.

We are not looking for them to give

us hugs constantly, saying thank you, thank you,

thank you, thank you.

But, damn, what the hell, right?

I mean, it's a little bit, I don't

know, it's a little bit of education.

Like, it's education for me, as a manager

of a business, to clearly mark.

When you are going to buy, when you

are going to buy a car, when you

are going to need a service, we are

already knowing what we are going to pay.

And it is very rare that they give

us something, because the photographers or because I,

sorry, I don't speak in plural, because you

may never do that.

But, because I have to do it, right?

It does not mean that I have to

be pissed off with the customers.

Because, as I have already told you, the

vast majority are usually incredible people, who make

our lives very, very easy.

I mean, they accept everything we ask for.

Then, after the wedding, I mean, the next

day they usually write to us and such.

But, sometimes, you get like the big blow

or the big blow for saying, damn, I

don't know why this, right?

Well, it is not only with couples, but

it has even happened to us with wedding

photographers.

Getting to photograph the wedding of a photographer,

make him a mega discount for being a

photographer, and suddenly you get to have dinner

the day of the wedding, and he takes

out a children's menu or a children's menu.

And the boyfriend is aware of all that

because he sees it, and he stays so

wide.

And you say, damn, I know it is

a matter of education, perhaps from the client,

but it is a matter of education on

our part.

As I say, it is possible that none

of you do it, but after a few

slaps, I mean, you say, this is ending,

right?

And I remember, very recently, we were in

a mentoring talk or something similar that was

organized by the online conference Vigiar Project, where

we were Fer Juaristi, Carolina and someone else,

but in particular I want to stay with

a pithy phrase of Carolina Guzik, in which

she said something like this, and that made

me feel like an idiot, but for good,

right?

It was something like this.

It is that the photographers, when we get

in front of the boyfriends, we say, look,

this costs 5,000, but I'm also going

to give it to you.

What do you mean, give it to me?

No, no, no, this costs 5,000.

That's it.

If later on the day of the wedding

you want to stay for an extra hour,

for you, for that, but why start going

halfway?

I mean, look, this is 5,000, but

it's like a thriller game, right?

I mean, I give you 5,000, but

it's a bit of wanting and not being

able to.

It's like going with the handbrake off and

it's like going with the tail between the

legs.

What the hell?

Why?

I mean, why do we have to go

like this?

If it's because of the experience in recent

years, and I'm not talking about the past,

but the recent years in which you realize

that up to one more minute of free

bar costs more and the farm or the

avenue is not reduced.

And if they want such a roof or

an extra chair, they're going to pay for

it.

There's not going to be a discount.

And if they want this, and if they

want the other, and the same thing happens

with all kinds of suppliers.

And in the last crisis, which we are

still in, in the pandemic, there have been

couples who have been amazing to us.

When I say amazing, be careful, I don't

mean that they give us money, but when

they wanted to postpone their wedding, they offered

us dates, not one, but several, to see

if that wedding, I mean, they wanted to

work with us, but there were others that

you think, damn, is this your way of

proceeding?

I mean, this is how you come to

me?

I mean, after what I have tried to

be nice to you at all times, cordial,

suddenly you are a chief who is screwing

me to the maximum and on top of

that you ask me for this and that.

As I said at the beginning, they are

always a minority, they always are, but that

minority makes you ask a lot of things.

And one of the things is that, without

being a bastard, I mean, I don't mean

that a couple comes to my house and

fucks you alive, that's not the way it

goes with me, that's not the way it

goes, but this is over.

I mean, why give away?

Why go halfway?

Why go with the tail between your legs?

Are we one more supplier?

Or am I one more supplier who works

the same or more than the rest and

who has a qualified job?

Therefore, why not go like this?

If you want something, pay for it.

As simple as that.

I mean, I think that by contributing your

degree of professionalism, by contributing that positivism that

always surrounds us on the wedding day and

that we always transmit, for example, to the

couple, and that they always thank us for

that, I think that's enough.

Being professional, by contributing that positive degree, I

mean, so that you are not a guy,

a snob, that you are there, quiet, serious

on the day of the wedding, but you

are working, you are giving a good experience

to your partner, and that's the maximum you

can give, or that I think we have

to give compared to other things.

This, as I say, is like a little

reflection.

As I say, I have always tried to

be positive with most of the videos.

It does not mean that this video is

a negative video, but it is a video

a little bit, or at least for me,

to say, pa, pa, pa, pa, that happens

to you because you are stupid, Victor.

Do you understand me?

I mean, as I have told you, by

giving the best of us, by putting a

smile, by doing the best job, by being

creative and giving the best that we have,

and transmitting that positivism, we are giving even

more than we should.

But giving what?

Are they going to value it?

Sometimes, no.

I already know that it is the minority,

but that minority makes me rethink all this

a lot.

So, I do not know if this video

is illustrative for you, or if it seemed

good to you or not, but I just

wanted to share all this with you, because,

as I say, they are experiences that enter

our business, and, at least in my case,

I have made and I still make many

mistakes, and I hope they are less each

time.

So, nothing else, friends, I just say goodbye

with this dark episode, but I hope it

has been helpful.

So, nothing else, friends, until next time, and

keep hiring bitches.
