video and always, since 2012 was the first

time I started recording audio at a wedding.

Then I left it for a while and

lot of time to dedicate to it and,

of course, with the pandemic, with COVID, well,

as you all know, well, it has been

very hard for me, especially all my weddings

are of destination, all my clients are from

abroad, so last year I shot a wedding

of Second Shooter and that's it.

And, of course, that, I am a person

who, I am very restless, I think that

this last year I have worked more than

ever, I have learned a lot and, well,

I have had a very bad time, I

have had anxiety attacks, I have had a

very, very bad time, I have tried a

million things and, first, I started doing mini

family sessions and I came up with the

crazy idea that, although I only had 20

minutes for the photo session, apart from taking

photos, I carried my tripod with my second

camera and I started recording video and, with

this, I started to make mini videos to

have more things to sell, right?

So, then people could buy, apart from buying

more photos, they could also buy the mini

video that I made.

And I tell this because, with this, what

I did was that all this other madness

last summer when I was able to travel,

I traveled again to France and we were

invited by some former clients of Frank, Frank

Boutonnet, my boyfriend, in case someone doesn't know

him, wedding photographer, and...

Because I've already done it, like, many episodes.

first job, from that job I got another

job in France, also with another company, and

then, of course, with all this situation, it

was cool, I get jobs in France, I

have jobs in France, but I have to

solve the local issue, because I don't have

a local I moved from the city six

years ago when I was already doing destination

so I don't have a business here and,

of course, I said, well, it's cool, I

liked telling stories, I realized that, in the

end, what I like is telling stories and

I said, great, with this I can tell

stories, I make videos and I take photos

and I offer something different, but when you

think, well, and what Victor asked me, how

do you do it?

You take the phone and call someone and,

thinking a lot of things and I spent

a couple of months researching on Facebook which

companies moved the most here in El Bierzo,

where I live, and it occurred to me

that if I called a company and told

them that I made a video for free

because I needed a portfolio in Spanish, I

was going to screw it up a lot,

because, of course, how do you start?

Well, offering something for free, but if I

offer it like this, how do I charge

for it?

So I came to an agreement with myself

and I said, well, if I make a

personal project, it's different, because I'm inviting someone

to be part of my project and, being

my personal project, I can do whatever I

want.

So I invented a personal project called Con

Vida, which is a word game for COVID,

Con Vida, and the idea of Con Vida

was to share stories of small entrepreneurs who,

like me, were suffering from COVID and they

had seen themselves being forced to work.

In this process, the video that Victor is

showing, they gave the Michelin star to a

restaurant here, and I said, wow, I have

to work with him, but I said, wow,

this guy is calling everything God.

So first, I have to start with other

people and have someone take me to him.

And so I started with a bar that

moves a lot here in Bonferrada and I

talked to the guy, he said, man, of

course, delighted, I made a very cool video,

I haven't sent you Victor, but I have

them on Instagram, which is rociovega-storyteller, there

are the videos of Con Vida, and he

told me about some guys from La Miel

who did, and of course, when he told

me about the bees, my first thought was,

them, we started talking, but the season of

the contact, he spoke to the restaurant, he

a video of these deliveries that they did.

I would like to take pictures of you,

but you know, we took pictures of Mexican

food that I was making for that weekend,

but it wasn't about Estrella Michelin.

And of course, the guy told me, but

I'm just talking about the restaurant and closing

the restaurant for this, but when he saw

the video, he loved it.

And just after watching the video, they called

him from the Bass Culinary Center to give

a talk.

And then he told them, and if I

take a video, could I put it?

They said, well, nobody does it, but if

you want, yes.

Then he called me and said, Rocío, would

you be able to make a video of

El Bierzo products, of my restaurant, in 10

days?

I said, yes.

And this guy talked to those of Tierra

de Sabor, and he sold it to the

guy, he told him, I'm going to go

to the Bass Culinary Center, it's a spectacular

opportunity to sell the products of El Bierzo,

and I have a girl who's going to

make us a video of the host, and

let's see if they pay for it.

So there I was already paying.

What you've been in charge of, of doing

a fieldwork, of trying to get to the

whole fabric, you've tried to be a little

bit, as if it were weddings, that as

a result of a wedding you take out

another, and another, and another, you try to

find out about the suppliers, the wedding plans,

all this, at the end of the day,

taken to your field, until you find, well,

until you get to do this.

And nothing, we did this video, it was

10 days of madness, being with him, going

to a supplier or something, we made a

video that was very cool, which was a

part that you have taught now, in Lemuna,

he presented it at the Bass Culinary Center,

he loved it, he had his presentation from

10 to 10 and a half, and he

presented my video, the last one, at 10

and 32 minutes, he received a message from

the guy from Tierra de Sabor, I mean,

what a piece of video.

Then you say, cool, you know, because you

get in well.

And then, as a result of that, in

the end, more people find out, the guys

from La Miel were waiting for him to

do the project, and a company called them,

a Catalan bank, to buy their product, they

were among themselves, and another, and it's like

bank always works with suppliers, he was tired

of his supplier, and he said, well, let's

look for someone, and they asked the guy

from La Miel, hey, is there anyone left

And that contact, from the bank, is through

a girl, who, as I say, is the

wedding planner of the companies, and in the

comes out of another, and I'm very happy,

I make photos, videos, and the video, I

take it from a photographic point of view,

a bit like I'm taking a photo, but

in motion, and as a result of all

this, every time I have a new company,

I immerse myself in the world, I've done

another piece of architecture, so I immerse myself

in the whole world of architecture, learn everything,

in food, I saw all the shows on

Creative Live about food, and now I can

take photos of a lot of things, and

the truth is that it's very interesting, because

every time it's a different world, in which

you have to immerse yourself completely.

Sorry, but of course, it's not just about

what it is to expose yourself, but as

you said, you've had to soak up all

of Creative Live to know how it works,

because the equipment you had, was it worth

it to record videos?

I mean, the equipment, like photographs you already

had, was it worth it to make videos

or not?

Yes and no, but I had to buy

a lot of things.

At first, the little money I earned was

to reinvest in equipment, and obviously with your

own camera you can make a video, but

of course, if you want to get a

good audio, which is the most difficult thing

in the video, then you have to buy

a good recorder, then the good microphone for

the tie, the microphone for whatever, then others

that are wireless, it has been a progress,

and I started first with a small, simple

Panasonic camera, and then I realized that Fuji

had just released the X-T4 for me.

And well, it was a complicated moment, the

truth is that it was a moment that

we were working well and enjoying it a

lot, and it stopped well.

And now I work with the X-T4,

and my usual X-T2 is my support

camera, it is the camera that I usually

work with, I put it in a tripod

to make a fixed shot, or it is

the camera that I put to take the

shot from above, and so on.

I combine two cameras, one that I have

in my hand, in motion, I just bought

a gimbal for the work I did in

architecture in Barcelona, that is, it's all...

It has been a little bit, little by

little, and at the same time, super fast,

you had time for all that in the

Yes, I'm a geek, and when I get

into something, I get completely into it.

This is the last job that I have

done now in Barcelona, for a company that

does interior design.

This company is doing interior design in the

clients, because their idea was to convey a

weddings.

like as much as weddings.

People ask me a lot, I'm not going

to make a wedding video.

I'm not that crazy.

But I do want to.

I consider weddings to be my summer job

and in winter it's going to be more

corporate.

And in that way, my future plan is

a little more relaxed, calmer.

I don't need so many weddings, you know?

Before, I had to shoot between 12 and

15 weddings, because I don't like that the

number is much higher.

And you're always suffering, I only have five,

I need two more weddings.

And in this way, my approach is, okay,

I need fewer weddings, so I'm going to

be able to get jobs that connect much

more with me, that pay me what I

really value and what my job is worth.

And also, I have the corporate for winter,

also to do projects that fill me up.

Because if you look, the videos I make

are very artistic, very personal, very telling a

story.

And this is not worth it for any

company either.

From my point of view, all companies should

do it, of course, but not all companies

want to teach themselves in this way.

And I don't want to make a video

for a company that tells me, it's super

technical and you have to do this.

I want to maintain my creative freedom.

So I think that with both things, I'm

going to be able to make a balance.

That's my idea.

For me, like 90% of my work

are destiny weddings, or either me of destiny,

I had 50% of my season canceled,

canceled weddings, two have been postponed for next

year, the only two local weddings I had

were postponed for next year, I mean, it's

more complicated, you know?

And the five weddings that I have this

year, well, until the day the wedding arrives

wedding I had two weeks ago, they canceled

illusions there, because emotionally I can't deal with

learning, and I have a lot of energy
