to a new concept of video in which

they are going to be called Lags 3

and these videos are going to be much

more direct and somewhat shorter than the rest,

but surely you will get the same or

more out of it than the previous ones,

okay?

For this first video we are going to

start by talking about this image in which

we are going to use, first, to tell

you who was the winner of the previous

contest that I launched, that is, remember that

it was a contest in which the one

who got all the camera values right was

going to take an hour of mentoring with

me and, in addition, we are going to

take the opportunity to describe this image a

little bit so that we can see how

it was done, right?

And here is the image that you are

seeing, it is a moment of preparations, it

is just a girlfriend in the back, in

which there is just a make-up artist

and that girlfriend, as you are seeing, is

reflected together in the two windows that we

are seeing, both on the right and on

the left, right?

I was lucky or, well, I don't say

that I was so lucky because I think

that to get this image I think that

I almost photographed or took almost 100 photos,

at least, or more, until it coincided, as

you are seeing, that bicycle that crosses the

street and that mainly gives all the strength

or part of the strength to that image,

right?

Let's go a little bit first to what

the subject is, okay?

And what I would like to show you,

right?

How was this image made?

It was made with a 20 mm, the

one I use is the original Nikon, it

is with which it has an aperture of

1.8 diaphragm.

The ISO that I used was 1250 to

get a little texture, both inside and outside,

to continue preserving the environment a little, right?

The speed is 1250, if I chose this

speed it was simply to compensate, right?

To compensate everything that was outside, I mean,

well, we are talking about the fact that

this photograph was taken in May in Spain,

almost at noon, when there was more light,

so I had to use that, 1250, and

then the diaphragm that I used was 1

.8, so that both the interior and the

exterior remained as focused as possible, right?

So, well, let's see who the winner was,

or the winner, and we see that it

was Viviana Calaón, applause for her, because she

just spent an hour of mentoring with me,

so, well, congratulations Viviana.

Well, quickly, when all this is over, well,

to see how I started photographing and how

I got to the final image, remember that,

I mean, for me, or in most cases,

I do not get to the final image

by pure chance, but it has been an

exercise of working or starting from a first

photo that surely has little to do with

the final, but as I always say, this

is as if we were building a building

in which it is about starting with an

idea or with a first idea and little

by little working on it, building the building

until in the end we get to that

final image, right?

So, let me show you the video first,

it is a video that lasts only 30

seconds and then we continue with everything, okay?

So, I would just like to start now

a little bit, well, that is, to tell

you how it was done very, very quickly

and well, as you are seeing, that is,

this image was with a 20mm vertical, at

the end of the video I will tell

you why in vertical, okay?

But it is strange that I used a

20mm and the truth is that I started

working with a 35mm and well, well, my

mission was to try to play with two

perspectives, that is, or split the image into

two parts, one in which the bride was

seen making up and the other to try

to tell the viewer where the scene was

happening, that is, first, as you are seeing,

I started with a led light, as you

are seeing right next to the bride's face

and you see that it is burning, you

are also seeing that on the right all

the sky and all the landscape is burning,

I don't like it, I already changed to

a flash and you see that the thing

starts to frame, but hey, you see that

I did not, that is, although I asked

the bride's sister to come a little closer

to try to contextualize, to try to give

a little meaning to all that, because simply

taking out a window with buildings in the

background did not quite convince me, for example,

and I keep working with 35mm, I kept

working with a flash, then at the end

of the video you will see where I

put the flash and you see that I

tried to get so many, so many different

photos or different possibilities at the same time,

in front, behind, above, below, I even got

out of the room, I want you to

take a look at how I placed a

curtain behind the windows that serve so that

we do not wake up in the hotels,

as you well know, if a glass, if

we put it behind and something opaque, it

becomes a mirror, and I just started playing

with a flash, as you are seeing, to

get the reflection and what to try to

be seen, the makeup artist in the center

and the girl reflected in the windows, I

continued with 35mm, I kept shooting, I kept

shooting, always trying to compensate what was outside

with what was inside, notice that that motorcycle

arrived with two people and it already gave

me the idea with which I could imagine

that I could get a balance between the

interior and the exterior, I mean, humanize both

the interior and the exterior, here you are

seeing the flash, that is, the place where

I put it to compensate, here was the

first time that I worked with 20mm, but

you see that in horizontal, the photo does

not work, and what I already decided to

put it in vertical, but of course, to

put it in vertical it had to have

a sense, and the sense for me is

when I use a composition in verticals to

join both the earth, that is, the ground

with the sky, as was the case, that

is, for me it was to try, sorry,

here, it was to join what was happening

below, what was happening in the makeup area,

with what was outside, I had to shoot

like a hundred until it really, well, this

image has arrived, right?
