Patreon channel.

As you all know, Patreon is a platform

that was created a while ago so that

artists could share how they work or what

goes through their heads at all times.

Just now, four weeks ago, Erika and I

came up with the idea of creating a

little hole in Patreon, so we got to

work on it and, in fact, we even

created a promotional video that I'm sure you've

already seen.

And, well, last week, so as not to

take too long, we started creating the first

video.

The first video, which is not this one,

but that one.

I'm telling you this because when we thought

about how to create the first video, the

first idea that came up was that it

was better to tell everyone how we were

going to work, how we were preparing the

first wedding of the year.

Well, the first wedding of the year, which

was going to be just last weekend, just

a few days ago.

Of course, we never thought that wedding was

going to be canceled like many others.

As you all know, we're going through a

difficult time, a damn virus, which I prefer

not to say the name.

It has affected everyone, not just photographers, but

everyone's life.

And, well, as I was saying, the first

wedding of the year, even if you laugh

at me, it's not to laugh at.

And, as I was saying, the first video

was going to go that way.

But it wasn't just the first one, but

there have been many more.

I mean, I want to say that from

March until well into May, if it's not

June, I think all the weddings we've had

have either been canceled or postponed.

And not only that, but also a few

conferences.

We had to go to Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador,

England, France, even Spain.

And everything has fallen apart, as you know.

It's not a matter of moving out of

the house, and we all have to be

here.

Really, at first, we thought, just recently, well,

since the first video had fallen, the situation

wasn't perhaps the best.

So we decided to postpone all of this.

And, well, when all of this is over,

we'll go out with the Patreon platform.

Of course, we've been, literally, or I've been,

a week in which, believe me, the first

days were a bit of a horror.

Because you're noticing, first, what's going to happen

to our health?

What's going to happen to our weddings?

What's going to happen to our partners?

What's going to happen to our money?

First of all, it's a joke from Christ

It's a very, very complex story.

And that was one of the reasons that,

well, honestly, we thought we weren't at 100%,

and we decided to postpone.

Of course, honestly, it's only been a few

moments that we've changed our mind, that we've

changed our opinion, and that we're going out

with everything again.

Why?

Because we need to have our minds 100

% useful, 100% open, and 100%

active, so we don't die here, right?

I mean, we have to be at home

for, I'm almost sure, a month.

So, yes, I keep reading, I keep doing

everything, but I need some movement.

And what's better?

This, which really makes me panic.

And if I say panic, it means that

I had never gotten in, or I had

never been in front of a camera, because

of the fact that it makes me panic.

I mean, it was like a phobia, right?

I mean, getting in front of a camera

and telling you everything that's been going through

my head was kind of too much for

me.

And honestly, I'm going to take all this,

all the videos we make, as an adventure,

and an adventure for both of us, right?

For you, who are probably going to take

hundreds of things, and then for me, to

lose my fears, and that phobia that I

have of being in front of the camera,

which is something that you already know, or

you can already imagine, or as it happens

to many of you, that it's better to

always be behind, right?

When we decided to create our channel on

Patreon, well, the idea was to create a

channel in which we were sharing videos, sharing

videos, and sharing videos, but all that content

was going to be paid for.

We understand that things have changed a little

bit, that you all have to be at

home, that you can't move around, so a

lot of the content that we're going to

create now, at least for this first month,

is going to be totally free for you,

When we decided what to tell you, one

first things that came to mind, also, knowing

that many of you have asked us what

your favorite lens is, what is the lens

you like to work with the most, or

what is ETC, and sometimes when we are

working with the 45mm of the center, with

the 45mm of Nikon, it's the 45 TCE,

when you see us with it, many of

you ask, so we're going to open the

first chapter by telling you how we work

with this pure blood, with this piece of

lens, and we're going to do it, right?

Here we have our battle horse, one of

our favorite lenses, 45mm TCE, the 45mm of

Nikon, just a little clarification, Nikon has created

a 24mm, sorry, a 24mm, 45mm, which is

this one, and the 85mm, okay?

Before I start telling you how we work

with it, I wanted to tell you that

it is a lens that was designed for

architecture, and in fact, when I bought it,

the first photos I took with it, back

in 2010, were always architecture.

And then I discovered, by other photographers, as

was the case back in 2012, more or

less photographers, such as Flanigan, in which they

used it, and I was surprised.

The first thing I want to tell you

is that it is a totally manual lens,

totally manual, I mean that the focus is

manual, and the diaphragms are also manual.

Of course, up to there you can think,

well, it's not that much of a problem,

although you think that, for example, like this,

it would be focused, but believe me, it's

not.

You need a considerable amount of time to

get used to it, and when I say

a considerable amount of time, I'm not talking

about one report, but several, okay?

Because believe me, until you control it, it

will take you a long time.

As I say, it is a lens that

was designed for architecture.

When I say that, it means that it

is a lens, as you are already seeing,

that it is a pleasure to see it,

because it is full of buttons, of threads,

of little things everywhere, and with which it

seems that you touch it and it will

break everywhere.

But first, what I have to tell you

is that it is a decentrable lens, right?

It is a decentrable lens, or also known

as tilt-shift, because we can play first

with what would be this little thing that

you are seeing here, okay?

To create selective refocuses, okay?

I mean, it can be both vertical, guys,

as well as horizontal, as you are seeing

here.

And it could also be something that we

use often, which is the lens displacement, okay?

You see that it goes up and down,

guys.

It is a goal, again, as I have

told you, to correct lines, to correct horizontal

and vertical planes.

And before we continue, or before we continue,

sorry, with what is the chapter, I would

like to show you a video that we

made back in 2012 from a well-known

city, and well, it is a video that

we only made with the 45mm, okay?

that it is a timelapse.

It was a timelapse that, well, as I

told you before, that I made in New

York, back in 2012.

As everyone will know, a timelapse is a

sequence of images, and in this case, I

used 25 frames to create a second, and

the video lasts three and a half minutes,

with which you can imagine the number of

photos that I had to take, right?

The truth is that I had almost a

week to enjoy New York, and I invested

it touring the city, from top to bottom,

and well, trying to take the best perspectives

or the best photos, right?

And having said this, I would like to

go to what is already 100% what

it is, why do we use all this

for weddings, right?

Why do we use 45 at weddings, right?

Even though, if I tell you that the

focus is manual, that we have these little

things and all this, well, it is to

go crazy, but not so much, right?

Because, first of all, I would have to

clarify that it is a lens that we

only use in 1% of what would

be the day of the wedding.

I mean, when is that used?

At the moment that the couple that gives

us a little time for portraits, right?

For the posts, I mean.

If we have 15-20 minutes, well, that's

the time I'm going to use it.

And yes, of course, if we have a

pre-wedding or, for example, a post-wedding,

that you know we have more time to

enjoy, to take risks, and, in short, to

not go crazy when we are trying to

focus or let everything go to hell, right?

Because what I want to make clear is

that when I use this, it is not

to make a normal photograph, but to make

a real madness, right?

45mm, as I say, is perfect for me

to make posts, to separate the couple, and

so that I don't have enough air, as

it could be a 24mm, which, of course,

to make posts with a complicated 24mm and

with 85mm the angle would close quite a

bit.

So, then, 45mm is perfect for me.

I wanted to show you some of the

images that I have made with the 45mm

only, that is, with the focal length, without

doing, without having done yet any tilt or

shift, ok?

So, let's go with the first one, ok?

As you are seeing now, right?

Well, I mean, this photograph, as you are

seeing, is only made with what would be

the objective, I mean, with the focal length,

sorry, with the focal length 45mm, as well

as the second one, right?

As you can see, in the second one,

in which I show you, I am not

a scientist, so I can't be sure of

it either, but the 45mm tilt-shift has

an atmosphere or gives an air that does

not give me the 50mm, and I really

love it, right?

And when you work it later, when you

start, for example, editing the photo, I could

even tell you that it has, or that

it has added some more noise, if we

compare it with other focal lengths, as it

could be a 50mm or as it could

be a 35mm, right?

And also, let's go for the third image,

in which, as you are seeing, it is

perfect to play with the lines, right?

I mean, it is an objective that really

seems like, well, I mean, it seems like

it was created for this, so that the

perspective is perfect and so that we can

play with it and that no line goes

away, right?

So, that is the fundamental value, the first

of all, if it is the 45mm, play

with it only with the focal length, and

now, let's go to what would be the

tilt, ok?

What I had explained to you, it can

simply be the tilt, it can be, or

the decentral, as such, or the tilt, sorry,

as such, it can be in horizontal, as

you are seeing, here now, up, or down,

or the tilt can be in vertical.

If we do it in vertical, the focused

line will be just in vertical, of course,

and depending on the diaphragm that we are

using, it will be a thinner line or

less thin, ok?

I will go first with this image that

I want to show you, ok?

In which you are seeing the first use

that I started giving to the 45mm, in

which I simply focused parts, or up, or

down.

Of course, well, it is very beautiful, the

first time that you have it, you fall

in love with the effect, as well as,

for example, in the second, you see that

the focus goes precisely only to the line,

to the line of the eyes, both of

the bride and the groom, and the rest

completely out of focus.

But of course, if in reality we are

buying a lens like this, that is, we

are buying a 45mm in which I am

telling you that it is pure blood, and

what a better comparison, That is, really buy,

come on, a lens like this, and make

only a blur in tilt, I think you

have to take advantage of it, since it

has huge possibilities, right?

It is like, and again the comparison, it

is as if we were buying a pure

blood and we were going to the trot

with it on the street, it is as

if we had a Formula 1 and we

started not to run, that is, it is

a lens to drive you crazy and it

is a lens with possibilities, well, with infinite

possibilities to do what your talent can do

there, right?

But the 45 tilt shift when you start

We continue with the tilt effect and we

I mean, this objective allows you to focus

in a foreground and focus in a background.

Of course, you could do this in Photoshop,

but with the great work that will cost

equal images thrown with a tripod in which,

together by layers or as, okay?

result.

So, this objective still allows you that, I

focused.

it can be both vertical and horizontal.

sometimes what will help me is to, as

reflection that is, for example, in the image,

I mean, as you can see, the whole

background is full of buildings with which I

had to separate or I had to go

up, to the grooms so that everything was

cleaned.

I mean, so that the background was completely

clean.

For that, I had to bend down, but

if I bent down, the birds didn't come

out so I had to go up the

plane.

Being 45mm, I could correct all the lines

perfectly without them going out of place.

If I had taken a 35mm, in this

case, of course, it can be corrected, but

you can imagine that the result would not

have been the same, right?

Moving on to the other image, as you

are seeing, I mean, this triangle of light

that you are seeing, the shadow was reflected

in it and I had to, I mean,

I had to move, I had to move

the lens again so that it would not

be reflected there, right?

So, you are seeing that it has huge

possibilities, right?

And now, we could, I mean, to finish

with what would be the shift, I would

like to show you an image which is

the one we are seeing now, in which

it is a mirror and in theory, I

should be reflected in it and in this

case, what I used was the horizontal displacement

to get rid of the same arsenal.

So, these would be the two points or

the two most important things of what we

could get out of this piece of lens.

But, also, I want to tell you that

there is something else and that is macro.

I do not use macro much either, but

it is always very, very good to have

it for the time of, well, for the

time of doing some little detail in what

is the groom's house or the bride's house,

from rings, bouquets, whatever comes out of the

head.

Look, for example, in this image, I want

you to stay a little bit with what

are the drops of water.

The drops of water, in each of the

drops comes out the groom reflected in them.

Of course, being macro and having, for example,

a diaphragm of 32, as you will understand,

almost everything comes out focused, almost, almost all

hairs.

So, it's perfect.

And so, then, these are the three most

important points of the piece of pure blood

that I have here, but it also has

negative points, and the main negative point is

that, as I have already told you, we

only use 1% of the wedding, with

which, as you can imagine, carrying with him

all day, because we are talking that it

almost weighs a kilo, carrying with him all

day, for maybe one photo, two photos, five

photos, wow, you have to think about it,

right?

But of course, those five photos or that

photo really makes the difference, so, with which,

well, it's just awesome, right?

More bad things, so to speak, it's full

of potholes, as I have told you, of

tips, of threads, of course, you have to

be careful with all this, simply because you

can break it or you can load it,

look, I have already bought two and they

are not cheap, that is the third bad

point, right?

It is not a cheap it is a

lens quite, quite, well, with a fairly high

price, so this, of course, now, with the

amount of people who are migrating to mirrorless,

it's a good time, in fact, I bought

this one new, but the one you have

here, I was lucky that someone took it

at a fairly low so it was a

luxury to be able to buy it at

such a so, so cheap, and well, and

it was to buy it, to receive it,

and so on.

If I still have two, it is because
