to talk about a wedding photographer.

You already know that I don't usually talk

a lot about wedding photographers but this one

is especially worth it and surely some of

you will get to know it but surely

others will not.

So let's get into it and I'm going

to tell you a little story.

Last week the International Directorate of XP Photographers

announced the results of the last round called

Game 5 and well, here they tell us

a little about the judges, the rules, how

they were corrected and all these things.

We are going to sit down and we

are going to go directly through the winning

photos.

The first one, possibly many of you know

who is Kafa, me too, he is a

great photographer, yes.

The truth is that I don't know about

you but I hadn't seen this photo yet

and I think it's amazing.

The lighting, the framing, the composition, how he

played with the circles, I mean, with the

hats, but above all, you know, wow, that

eye, that damn eye, it's brutal, right?

And then, how he accompanies it, both one

hand on one side and the hand on

the other and we can still see the

liquid in his mouth, which seems outstanding to

me.

And this image is from our friend Sergio

Nogueira from Portugal.

The truth is that I didn't know Sergio,

nor did I know him for his work,

but as I say, this photo seems brilliant

to me.

And I'm not going to talk about Sergio

Nogueira, of course, but about the photographer I'm

going to talk about and who was ultimately

the winner of this round in XP Photographers,

I'm talking about, I hope to say it

right, Kenram Siraliev.

I'm sure I didn't pronounce it right, but

that's the least important thing, the photographer is

what matters, right?

I met, or I met, sorry, the work

of this incredible Russian photographer a couple of

years ago when I saw his work in

some directory and the truth is that I

was really amazed.

At that time, this photographer was really a

specialist or what surprised me was how he

used the double exposure technique.

At that time, it's true, I'm talking about

a couple of years ago, well, no, maybe

a little more, three or four years, sorry.

For me, this technique, the double exposure, no

longer contributed much or did not seem so

interesting to me, but, curiously, Kenram's double exposure

photographs did seem interesting to me.

They were totally different or fresher than what

I had been doing or even had been

seeing from other colleagues, right?

But photographers can have or can develop a

technique, they can do it very well, they

can stand out for a year for the

effectiveness of their work, for the brilliance, but

many are brilliant for a year but few

are brilliant for many years and already many

less are evolving and continue to have a

work just as inspiring as a few years

ago, just as consistent, just as powerful, creative,

and you can even say, as is the

case of this photographer I'm talking about, over

the years, he has still been evolving and

doing his job better.

What I like about him, or what I

love about him, sorry, is that he is

not only good at photographing or capturing, playing

with soft lights, but he is also really

good with body language or photographing, sorry, girlfriends

or couples, knowing how to perfectly combine body

language with light, femininity or female figure, sorry,

connecting perfectly with the viewer, understanding perfectly how

the hands work, how the eyes work, I

mean, everything related to body language.

And he also has points, which are the

ones that I personally, as a photographer, that

I like, that he makes use of resources

such as moving the camera, shaking the photo,

adding grain, they are elements that I would

never do, although I don't usually do, because

I'm not attracted to them, but when I

see them in other colleagues and I see

them so well executed, I really love it.

And also, as I was saying, he is

not only good at controlling soft lights, but

he is also incredibly good at exploring hard

lights and, in addition to that, exploring or

already mixing hard light perfectly with flash or

with other types of resources, as we are

seeing, for example, in this one, in which

he perfectly combines all this.

I wouldn't know if it's a double exposure

or not, but I don't care, what I

care about is the result, which is a

really, really brilliant result.

And as I was saying, he not only

combined perfectly or worked with hard lights, but

he knows how to work perfectly with soft

lights.

It also seems that he is getting into

the editorial aspect, as we are seeing.

And also, let's go to the beginning for

a moment, where we will be able to

see some of the photos that were awarded

in XP Photographers in the last game.

We had already seen this one.

You see, there are both hard lights and

soft lights.

This man can be said to be one

of the greats.

I think it's an editorial for a wedding

company or for a designer or an atelier,

but let's see it, because it's only a

The thing is that I don't know about

you, but in my case, since I started

as a wedding photographer, I had always been

bombarded by the work of a multitude of

North American photographers, and also as a Spaniard,

because I was influenced by Mexican photographers who,

when I started, were at the top of

the list and with a super interesting speech.

What I wanted to say is that Russian

photographers, I assure you that I didn't receive

much information, and the truth is that in

2014 or 15, I don't remember well, I

think it was in 2015, I was invited

to one of the first MyWebParty.

At that time, MyWeb was a directory or

it was the embryo of what it was

going to be, and they invited me and

Mauricio to go to Moscow, to teach several

workshops there, and we met several colleagues, and

by then I already saw that what was

being cooked in Russia was really incredible and

really powerful.

And in short, thanks to MyWeb, and thanks

to more stories, I suppose that a community

has been created, just as it was created

in Spain years ago, and surely in many

countries, as is obvious, but as you can

see, creating a community helps to create colleagues,

and not only that the community is created

and that colleagues come from the same country,

or from the same continent, or whatever, but

also that other photographers, as in the case

of me, we are inspired not only by

Ken Ram, but there are other Russian colleagues,

like Ivan Troianeski, or even like this man,

Igor Bulgak, surely I did not pronounce it

well, but the truth is that I don't

know if it sounded to you, or if

you knew Igor, but if I show you

this image, surely now everyone knows or remembers

the photographer I'm talking about, I'm talking about

this image, oops, it has gone there, this

one.

The moment I saw it, I thought, damn,

who is this?

I say, what a crack!

Well, Igor's work, I'll leave it to you

so that everyone can see it, but they

are incredible photographers, both him and Ken Ram,

and Troianeski, and surely there are many others

like him, because, as I say, Russia is

the great unknown, so from here thanks to

the whole team of XP, for giving me

the opportunity to recognize, or to be again

aware of great colleagues, such as Ken Ram

or Sergio.

I don't know if you knew XP Photographers,

the truth is that a few years ago,

I thought I was going to leave almost

completely, well, for the contests, because I was

not quite comfortable, and I decided to let

go, and I decided to just stay with

the only one that gave me a satisfaction

or a security of knowing that at some

point, couples were going to find me thanks

to that directory and what companions were going

to find me.

I'm talking about fearless photographers, that is, years

ago, three years ago, I decided to just

be part of fearless because of what I

have told you, because of what the directory

offered me.

The rest does not mean that they are

not good, obviously they are not, but they

did not attract me so much.

The truth is that they contacted me, the

people of XP Photographers, and at first I

was not sure to be part of this

directory or this great directory, and when I

saw the staff and I saw the people

behind, how they take care of everything, not

only with the image, but how they organize,

for example, the contests, they are not contests

like the ones we are used to, but

they have added rules, they have created another

type of competition that really seems interesting to

me and it seems complicated to me and

everything complicated attracts me and ultimately, in the

end, I was part of it.

Last year I decided to be part of

this directory and the truth is that the

last competition that I had to compete with

a full wedding and that does seem interesting

to me, because competing with a single photo

sometimes may seem simple, but competing with a

full wedding we are already talking about another

level and it seemed interesting to me.
