I think you already know what I'm going

to talk about today.

I'm surrounded by devices, which all of them

save our lives from continuing to deliver all

the work as God commands and that no

photo is lost.

So, as you can imagine, in this video

I want to share with you what is

the storage system of each of our weddings,

reports or whatever.

I'm going to describe a little bit what

is the way of working or what is

the workflow from the moment we get home

with the wedding photographed until we finally deliver

it.

First of all, it is very obvious, it

has been put together with cards like these.

We work, as you already know, with Nikon,

both with the D5 like the D850 and

both work with this type of XQD cards.

They are very good, they are very fast,

but also the price is a little high.

But hey, if I show you two, it

is because we always work with a double

security slot.

In the past I believed that this was

not important, even some of the first cameras

that I had digital, like the 700, did

not have that double security slot and nothing

ever happened.

But it is true that since we have

a double security slot, it has saved us

from a couple of scares that we could

have lost part of a wedding.

The double security slot, I mean, the first,

sorry, the first security slot will always go

in RAW, as is obvious, and the second

security slot too.

In the past, the second security slot went

in JPEG, but we also had a couple

of scares and what we thought that, after

all, we had to make an investment in

buying quite a few cards.

Ours are 64GB because it is a personal

mania, that is, I do not like to

work with a 128GB one because it is

like I have the whole wedding there and

I prefer to diversify.

The double security slot, as I said, always

in RAW in case the first one fails,

just in case, to have that double security

slot also in RAW.

As soon as we get home, what we

do is simply download both Erika's wedding and

mine.

It will always go in two separate folders.

For example, it will say Pepito and Pepita

Wedding by Víctor and Pepito and Pepita Wedding

by Erika.

We always split that, that is, we always

divide it into two folders, both Erika's wedding

and mine, and once they are already downloaded

on the computer, on the main computer, they

will go here.

What is this?

This is a RAID.

And what is a RAID?

As you are going to see, it is

a RAID in which it is made up

of two hard drives and they are two

hard drives that are in mirror.

I mean, when we flip all the images

to the RAID, it will not only stop

this first disk, which is the first one

that is up, but it is duplicated to

the second.

In other words, we already have a double

copy of security or it could even be

said that triple.

The one on the computer, the one on

the RAID, and this RAID is in mirror.

That is, each file, each wedding or each

session is multiplied by two.

This is always going to stay there.

It will always be recorded and we will

not get into the folder anymore because I

have the main gallery is on the computer

and it is in which I will start

editing, selecting, all these things.

Once we have finished the whole wedding, the

best selected rows, those 600, 700, and their

JPGs also edited, will go here.

I'll tell you later what this little thing

is for.

This is an external 1TB hard drive, but

I'll tell you later why.

What I have told you now would be

the way to proceed in a local wedding,

in which we finish the wedding, we get

home and we download.

I am that kind of maniacal person who

gets home at three in the morning and

starts downloading.

You can just go to bed and leave

all the photos on the cards, although nothing

would happen, as is obvious.

It scares me.

It is something that I do not want

to suffer from losing something or anything.

I forgot.

Once I have downloaded all the photos on

the computer, I will check that they have

all been downloaded.

I will check that all the preparations are

in place, that the ceremony is in place,

that the party is in place.

From the first to the last.

I check all one by one.

That will help me know that everything works

well.

That's how I tell you at a local

wedding.

Let's say we are working in the other

part of Spain.

It is the same.

We work with both cards, as I have

explained to you.

Once we get to the hotel, I'm going

to download it on my laptop.

From the laptop it will go to an

external hard drive.

Once it has been copied here, it will

go to another external hard drive and I

go to bed to sleep.

In the morning, while we have breakfast and

such, it will be copied to another external

disk.

Therefore, I have three copies of that same

wedding, in addition to the cards that are

still there.

I mean, all the photos are still there.

Why three?

Because one of these is going to be

Erika, another of these I am going to

keep.

If I say I, it means that it

is going to go with me, on top,

in my pocket, somewhere safe.

And this third one that is going to

go in the suitcase.

But why three?

Let's say they steal our suitcase, let's say

I lose it, let's say a disk breaks.

What the hell do I know?

I mean, I can't play it.

I'm one of those eccentric people that I

don't want to have, or I would try,

or I would like not to have problems

of that kind.

Once I get home, let's say I get

home or we get home, both with Erika's

gallery and with mine here, what I'm going

to do is download it to the main

computer.

The main computer is going to go here

again, and once the main computer has been

downloaded, edited, selected and everything, it's going to

go here again.

Here, remember that only the best rows of

each wedding and JPEG are going to go.

And now we are going for something important.

Why this?

If I already have this, right?

We are so maniacal, or I am so

maniacal, that all the weddings we have photographed

throughout the year usually go here.

This never moves from my house, never, not

at all, but this does.

All the weddings we have photographed in a

year come here.

If I go, for example, I don't know,

to a wedding with our car, this is

going to be saved in a part of

our car.

I mean, this is always going to go

with us, with all the weddings.

If we go to Barcelona, it's going to

stay at my father-in-law's house, for

example.

If it's a wedding that we have to

stop at my parents' house, for example, because

it's halfway, it will stay at my parents'

house.

I mean, the whole season is saved, and

also here, and also, of course, in the

cloud.

How do we work or what system do

we use in the cloud?

We work with Amazon Prime.

I don't know if you know it, but

Amazon already has a very old system in

which if you are part of, for example,

Prime, which you will all be, you have

access to be able to download on your

server.

You can create it, it's totally free.

You can take as many photos as you

want.

I think I started in 2015 or 2016

and it's super simple.

There we already download, not only all rows,

but also all JPEG.

And it's as simple as if I were

in the other part of the world, I

go into my server and I could, for

example, download.

And also, as you can see, it's super

simple when it comes to, for example, going

to last year, for example, for 2021, go

to the month of November, to the month

of October and review all the jobs we

did, enter one of them and see that

it is in the JPEG gallery.

And simply if you need an image to

publish it, to deliver it, for anything, you

would have it, you would have it with

total ease and I can download it on

the same computer in 0.1 seconds, which

is super practical.

In the hypothetical case that, I don't know,

photos will end up being lost from here,

this will end up being lost, my house

will be burned, I don't know, there would

be an earthquake, there would be a tsunami,

I would always be in the cloud and

I would always be saved.

Of course, as you can see, from the

same wedding I have three or four copies

of security, always.

Finally, on this hard drive, when we have

already delivered the whole wedding, everything is already

delivered, the album, the photos, all this, nothing

is erased from here.

I mean, I don't start erasing or deleting

blurred photos.

No, no, no, that is, if I shoot

5,000 photos at a wedding, they are

here, the 5,000, do you understand me?

And in the other disks that I have

here, they are disks that I say satellites

that are constantly moving, depending on the places

where we move.

And as I have told you, as a

last step, it is always in the cloud.

We no longer keep any kind of secret

or anything else, that's how we do it.

And well, I'm a bit tiki-miki with

this, I don't know if any of you

have a better system, which is almost certainly

probable, or you do it in another way,

but hey, I wanted to share this because

I know that some of you have asked

me, well, once, how do we save, how

do we store, how do we make copies

of security?
