you a very, very short tip, but surely

And all this comes because I've been receiving

for a couple of weeks more than one

email in which you ask me what is

the maximum ISO that I usually use and

all these things.

In addition, it coincides with the fact that

recently we had a one-to-one course

in which a kid from Panama came here

and I realized that he also had those

doubts and, in fact, he is not the

first person to ask me about it in

the last few months.

So I thought, well, I think it will

be interesting to share this with you, right?

And it is that last week, oh sorry,

last week, in one of the previous videos

I already commented something like that, a piece

of the phrase in which, if I'm not

mistaken, I think it was made by Kappa

or Ansel Adams, now I have my doubts,

but it was something like that, there is

nothing worse than a clear image of a

blurry concept.

What do I mean by this?

It is very easy, in quotes, to take

images with good brightness or with interesting light

conditions, as it could be during the day,

right?

In which the ISO can be adjusted to

100 ISO quietly or to a very low

value.

We can adjust the camera levels in a

perfect way and it is super simple, in

quotes, to shoot, right?

But of course, what happens when we are

working under very complicated light conditions in indoor

places, at night parties, what happens, right?

What I want to get to, and I'm

going to finish quickly with all this, is

that gentlemen, the cameras that we have are

already prepared to work with really incredible ISOs,

okay?

Therefore, it does not hurt you if at

some point you have to go up to

8000 ISO.

Be careful, everyone knows that I am always

in favor of working with the lowest possible

ISO and in fact, in a church with

very little light, or at a party with

very little light, I do not like to

go over 4500 ISO.

But if at any given moment I am

in a small hermitage, I am in a

place that to take that photo forward, that

is, to be able to photograph it correctly,

more or less, I have to raise the

ISO as far as necessary, I'm going to

do it.

And let's see, have something very clear, where

is that shot going to be exposed?

Let's say 10,000 ISO.

Do you think it will be exposed in

the MOMA?

Maybe in the future, who knows?

But do you remember the photos, or do

you remember the photos of the landing in

Normandy, in the Second World War, the films

that were negative and on top of that

they were forced?

And they are works of art, that is,

those photographers, all masterful, or the vast majority,

forced the film, for what?

To be able to take a graphic document

forward.

We, the same, I do not want to

compare the wedding photograph with the day of

the landing, okay?

But that's what I want to get to,

And I do not neglect, as I say,

to upload or do whatever is necessary to

get ahead.

And remember, it is more than likely that

that photograph ends up printed on an album,

at most, size like this, that is, 20

-30, or on an Instagram that is going

to be small.

Although you give a couple a photo at

increase it?

I already tell you that, as you know,

I am not a supporter, or it is

not very common in my case, that we

upload neither Erika nor I of 4,000

and 5,000 ISO, okay?

But having said that, I should clarify it.

Then, to settle all this very clearly, I'm

going to show you a few images.

They are one of my best images, all

of them, all of them, or they are

moved, or they are out of focus, or

they are trepidated.

But, as I said at the beginning, the

pithy phrase.

There is nothing worse than a clear image

of a blurry concept.

it really works, okay?

focus.

Well, not completely out of focus, but a

little out of focus.

Gentlemen, it is one of my favorite images.

I do not care if the bride's face

is not perfectly focused or all this.

The important thing was the moment.

I was inside a church with very little

light, but I thought that even if it

was out of focus, it was a good

photo for me.

And take a look at the groom's feet.

They are mutilated, that is a very big

mistake for me.

But for me, the moment as such or

the meaning of the mere image is more

important than technical aspects.

But if we go for this pose, for

example, it is not out of focus either,

I mean.

And look, the light conditions were not bad

either.

But I suppose that the nerves of the

moment, the pressure of the moment, makes that,

like every human being, the pulse trembles or

the thing does not finish working.

But nevertheless, if we go to this party

photo in which I was possibly shooting, shooting

at 4 or 5mm, the same thing happened.

I suppose that, in addition to the movement,

in addition to the little light that I

had there, well, it does not finish being

fully focused.

And if we zoom in, for example, to

the bride's face, you will see that the

grain is quite severe, but nothing happens.

As with one of the photos or my

favorite photos throughout history.

I have to admit, I mean, if we

zoom in on the hands, they are also

out of focus.

But I do not worry.

I mean, I had to shoot at a

very, very low speed, I had to adjust

the ISO very, very high.

We were talking about a place where there

was almost no light.

Nothing happens, gentlemen.

Like this one at the party.

There was almost no light either and I

had to manage it.

I mean, this moment emerged almost out of

nowhere, running, I had to get this forward

as I could, even though I was able

to bounce a flash, but the photo came

out moving.

Does it worry me?

No, not at all.

I think it clearly represents the intensity and

the party of that moment.

And let's go for the last image, one

of my most iconic images.

Let's bring the shot a little closer to

the bride's hand or the bride's face.

Believe me, when I saw it on the

screen, I said, no, no, how can you

focus this?

But no!

I'm a human being like all of you.

Look, the conditions there were favorable.

Although you see the black background, I mean,

I was shooting at 100 ISO, the stream

of natural light fell to death through that

church door.

I mean, everything was in my favor, but

I had my coccyx broken, I had an

incredible pain, the nerves of the moment, I

had to crouch and I almost couldn't.

Well, excuses like the ones of everyone.

In the end, what did I do?

De-focus a little.

along with the one of the hands.

I mean, are they out of focus?

Yes.

Does it worry me at the moment?

Yes.

Does it worry me now?

The only thing I think is, fuck, Víctor,

you could have focused, right?

But does it transmit what I want to

transmit?
