[Battle Through The Heaven]

[Episode 16]

According to the map, one more day of walking will take us to the site of Soul Destroyer.

Brother Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan?

How come? Why can't my Fighting Energy be activated?

Emperor Seal Technique? What happened?

Xun'er.

Brother Xiao Yan, the Emperor Seal Technique has been triggered. So, we're connected.

Is there anything wrong on your side?

Mu Gu did a sneak attack on Jianan Academy, and I can't mobilize my Fighting Energy.

Can you help me with it?

Got it. Just feel free to fight.

I'll transfer all my Fighting Energy to you and give you a helping hand.

Emperor Seal Technique.

Peak-breaker Seal.

Mu Gu, get ready to die!

Mu Gu. Hall of Souls. I'll definitely find you out one day!

Brother Xiao Yan.

- Xun'er. - Brother Xiao Yan,

once we share Fighting Energy and wield the Emperor Seal Technique,

we can't connect with each other for a month.

Please take care of yourself.

Xun'er, thanks to you.

Xun'er.

Mu Gu has made it to Jianan Academy.

He must have come for the other flame.

Luckily, the Emperor Seal Technique helped a lot.

But it's a special technique of Gu Clan. It shouldn't be...

Hall of Souls runs rampant. Let's keep going.

- Headmaster. - Head-Headmaster.

Headmaster.

Today, you'd done a much better job

than in the Strong Ranking Grand Competitions.

Headmaster, we will protect Jianan Academy.

Hall of Souls has made a comeback.

As Fighting Practitioners,

you must fight for the world's sake.

Hu Qian,

take care of the Academy...

and these kids.

Headmaster.

- Headmaster. - Headmaster.

- Headmaster. - Headmaster.

Detach the Fallen Heart Flame? Why should it be detached?

It belongs to Jianan Academy.

It underpins the Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower. It fuels students' practice.

I borrowed it from Headmaster to save my father from the Misty Cloud Sect.

The murder of my father has been avenged, so I should return it to the academy.

This is what I owe the academy.

It can't be detached from you. Otherwise, you'd be dead.

Flame Mantra can subdue the flame which means it can detach it as well.

Besides, no one knows it better than you.

As long as I have your guidance, I will definitely succeed.

Promise me that the newly detached Fallen Heart Flame

will continue to be guarded by me.

Okay. I promise on behalf of Headmaster Hu Qian.

It's time.

Headmaster Su Qian, I'm giving it back to the academy.

Look.

It's Fallen Heart Flame.

Look. Fallen Heart Flame.

Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower is equipped with Fallen Heart Flame now.

Only with Fallen Heart Flame

can the academy be called Jianan Academy.

The extreme heat of Magma World

and the refining by Fallen Heart Flame

can temporarily suppress the once-active Poison of Calamity Body

and keep it stable.

How long can it hold on?

It's hard to say.

In such cases, it will be unstable once she leaves here.

It's better to find the Bodhi as soon as possible to address the root problem.

If you don’t know, just say you don’t know. Don't lie to me that they've perished.

Who said I don't know?

Then tell me what happened exactly.

Bodhi Trees never grow in isolation.

They were distributed across the Douqi Continent

in rarely-visited places.

Their entwined roots reach inaccessible places in various places and are intricately connected

with each other for thousands of miles underground, just like an underground palace.

That energy is distributed

around the whole Douqi Continent.

Were they really that powerful as you said?

It's a pity that 50 years ago, they died away suddenly.

People speculated it had something to do with the Hall of Souls.

Hall of Souls?

Anyway, it's useless even if you go there.

They have withered, so there's no Bodhi Heart.

There won't be anything, let alone Bodhi Incarnation Saliva.

Please take me there if you truly know.

- I won't go. - Why not?

I've been in this tower for a long time.

All my skills and techniques

are integrated into this tower.

In other words, in this tower,

I'm respected as Flame Sage.

Outside the tower, I will simply become

a mediocre, useless old man.

I got it.

You don't know. You're lying.

What? Who's lying?

I'm going to take you there now.

Apologize to me if they really perished.

You're desperate for Bodhi Incarnation Saliva.

Do you like that girl?

Who? Little Fairy Doctor? She's my friend.

Friend?

Oh, no, no.

You can't see or touch her.

It's of no use even if you find the antidote.

Why?

Bodhi Incarnation Saliva must be applied to naked bodies.

You're joking.

I'm not joking.

Fine, believe it or not.

See? This is a Bodhi Tree.

Bodhi Trees produced the strongest energy on the Douqi Continent.

There is no chance of life now.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

It's still standing straight here.

Who said it's dead?

It's the same as death, isn't it?

Kid, you see the tree now.

Apologize to me. You must apologize to me.

What are you doing?

It's a sacred tree from ancient times.

Could it have a heart as well?

If I try my heart flame on it, could it be revived?

No. No one is able to revive it.

The way you mobilize the flame costs a lot of Fighting Energy.

If this tree is not helpful,

I can find another tree in the Central Plains.

I must find Bodhi Incarnation Saliva.

It's of no use. Don't waste your energy.

This is the stronghold of the Black Submerged Army.

Demon General Gu Hao, pays respect to the Clan Lady and Devil General.

This is the Bodhi Tree.

I heard they were all over Douqi Continent and shared the same root.

When Soul Destroyer was sealed here,

all the trees on the Douqi Continent became withered.

Yeah. If we want to enter the tree to check the seal,

we need to trigger the energy of the tree.

What's this?

Where is he?

There's a Bodhi Tree inside the tree!

Are you asking me to refine the seed with flame

to dissolve negative feelings?

It's working.

Is this the remains of Soul Destroyer?

Yes. He was a Demi Fighting Saint before dying.

During the past 50 years, his flesh decayed, but not his skeleton.

So, the Gu Clan can't let thei guard down.

The hexagram is the sign of our seal.

No, I can't hold on. I'm so tired.

Have you finished practicing this time?

Bodhi Heart?

Bodhi Hearts are in Bodhi Trees.

The tears shed by Bodhi Hearts are Bodhi Incarnation Saliva.

- Within and outside the Three Realms, only the Dao is supreme. - Within and outside the Three Realms, only the Dao is supreme.

- The shining golden light covers my body. - The shining golden light covers my body.

- Evil spirits are suppressed and unable to be revived. - Evil spirits are suppressed and unable to be revived.

You reached the Fighting Venerate level?

Senior Brother, your sensitivity is still really good.

I finally gained something from this trip.

Why don't you ask me from whom I absorbed Fighting Energy?

It seems Xiao Yan resisted the attack again.

He's just lucky.

He was unable to save Su Qian.

Did you kill Su Qian?

His Fighting Energy was pure and intense.

It helped me break the bottleneck at once and return to the Fighting Venerate level.

So, you didn't win over Xiao Yan.

It seems you have to wait longer for your formation.

There's not just one flame in the world.

The black and white one

is Yin-Yang Twin Flame ranked 21.

The green one is Ghostly Poison Flame ranked 20.

I sent Han Feng to Blazing Sky Qi Refining Tower

for the Fallen Heart Flame ranked 14.

But instead of capturing it, he found you.

If I get the Bone Spirit Cold Flame,

I can achieve my goal immediately.

I set the trap in Misty Cloud Sect for your Bone Spirit Cold Flame.

But you gave it to Xiao Yan.

Is your goal just for the formation?

Certainly.

Flames are powerful, but they are not a must.

I need them to trigger the formation and bring back Master

so that I gain stronger power.

Today, I will let you witness the return of the palace master.

It looks like the two flames, though ranked low,

are more powerful in terms of energy

than the Bone Spirit Cold Flame when combined.

The power you need...

is adequate now.

Yao Chen, witness with your eyes

the real strength of the Hall of Souls.

Hall of Souls is immortal.

Hall of Souls lasts forever.

Hall of Souls is immortal.

Hall of Souls lasts forever.

Seal!

Xun'er!

What's going on?

Yao Chen, did you see that?

You...

You broke the seal of the Soul Destroyer!

All these are the untold will of Master.

I've been chosen by him.

Power is supreme.

Radiance of the sun.

Flowing light of the moon.

Three Thousand Burning Flame must be seized by me.

Who's there?

Who's talking?

Master, is that you?

Radiance of the sun. Flowing light of the moon.

Three Thousand Burning Flame must be seized by me.

Divine revelation.

It's the divine revelation from Master.

Mu Gu,

how stupid you are.

Aiming at strength,

you ignore how strange the formation is.

Before his death, Master had made predictions.

It's his will stored in the Spirit Stone.

He will guide me ahead.

Sister Xun'er.

Brotehr Xiao Yan.

What's going on?

I was beside the Bodhi Tree in the Jiama Empire.

How come I meet you here?

I got it.

The energy of Bodhi Trees flows again.

Their underground roots are re-connected.

That's why we met.

It's such a wonder.

Bodhi Trees in the Jiama Empire should have died away.

When I came here, I felt a wave of energy.

Then, I was sucked in.

It turns out we're meant to meet.

When I removed the seal in the Central Plains,

other ancient trees on the Douqi Continent were also unsealed.

So, you could enter the ancient tree.

Xun'er, you saved my friend.

Thank you.

Xiao Yan, Soul Destroyer broke free from the seal.

I don't know if Mu Gu is involved.

The dark time brought by the Hall of Souls might return.

Please be careful.

Xun'er, let's meet in the Central Plains.

I should have said, "I miss you."

I miss you...

Xun'er, I was about to find you inside with them.

Soul Destroyer's skeleton disappeared. His spirit broke free from the seal.

We must go back now and inform the Gu Clan.

Let's go.

Dad.

How was your trip?

Is the seal under the Bodhi Tree intact?

When we arrived at the Bodhi Tree, something went wrong.

The seal was destroyed by an unknown power.

Soul Destroyer's remains became a puff of dark smoke and disappeared.

What?

In front of you and the Black Submerged Army?

I'm sorry.

Dad, don't blame him.

This odd incident happened suddenly.

According to my guess, it was planned by Hall of Souls long ago.

Mu Gu.

Mr. Gu, even if Mu Gu destroyed the seal,

it's of no significant use.

Soul Destroyer died after being badly injured.

What Mu Gu has done at most increases their morale,

as there's no such thing as revival.

Simply for that purpose,

why must he remove the seal on his remains?

For centuries, the Hall of Souls can't be eradicated.

The secrets behind this were never clearly known to us.

Summon Black Submerged Army.

Investigate their activities in the Central Plains.

We must find Mu Gu's den in case of more trouble.

Do it now.

Yes.

Dad, I saw engraved patterns on the stone wall sealing Soul Destroyer.

There are eight patterns.

Are they Clan Tattoos of the Eight Ancient Clans?

What Clan Tattoos?

You told me that

the Hall of Souls was created a thousand years ago.

An ancestor of the Xiao Clan defeated the Soul Heaven Emperor.

Such ancient legends are too ulterior to prove.

The Xiao Clan has disappeared.

Have they disappeared or have they become ordinary families?

What's your point?

Some things have indeed passed for a long time,

and perhaps only legends remain.

But some things have remained. Right?

Each of the Eight Ancient Clans possesses a Tuoshe Ancient Emperor Jade.

The Xiao Clan must have one, too.

Is the one from the Xiao Clan the ancient jade of the Xiao Family?

The Xiao Family is just an ordinary family.

In that case, why did you send me to the Xiao Family?

Why did you ask me to find the ancient jade of the Xiao Family?

The Xiao Family has nothing to do with you.

Dad!

Dad, I'm waiting for you to tell me what this is all about.

Even if you keep silent,

I will find the answer by myself.

I've indulged you enough.

From now on, stay in Gu Clan.

Don't go anywhere.

The Xiao Family has been in the dark for years.

Even till death, Uncle Xiao knew nothing about the ancient jade.

Dad, now that you let me protect the Xiao Family,

why are you keeping it a secret?

Gu Yao, take Xun'er back. Keep an eye on her.

Dad!

Yes.

Gu Yao, what are you doing?

You also heard what the Patriarch said.

So what?

I'm afraid I must disobey you this time.

Gu Yao, you know me well.

On matters related to Xiao Yan, I will try my best by all means.

You know me well, too.

On matters related to you, I will try my best by all means.

You!

Freeze!

Who are you?

It's me.

General Gu.

I was not the only one outside your room.

Mr. Gu wouldn't believe it if I didn't pretend.

I understand.

Good for you. I was so freaked out.

Why are you so insistent in front of the Patriarch today?

Do you still remember the carved patterns at Soul Destroyer's site?

Among the eight Clan Tattoos, I've seen one of them.

It's the same one on Brother Xiao Yan's ancient jade.

So, I suspect there's a connection between the Hall of Souls, Gu Clan, and the Xiao Family.

To find out the answer, we have to search this place.

This place? Any clue to the ancient jade here?

All confidential documents are hidden in the Light Hall,

including the history of ancient clans.

The battle against the Soul Heaven Emperor must be recorded in a document.

Find that scroll, and we'll know about the ancient jade of the Xiao Family.

Got it. Let's split up.

Soul Heaven Emperor gathered...

I found it!

"Soul Heaven Emperor gathered Hall of Souls members.

The world was in misery and lives suffered.

The Xiao and Gu Clans made a blood agreement to eradicate the Hall of Souls."

"Soul Heaven Emperor was executed.

Xiao Xuan, the leader of the Xiao clan, died for his clan.

After the battle, Xiao Clan hid themselves in the Central Plains.

Eight Ancient Clans dispersed."

Clan Tattoos of Eight Ancient Clans.

Hold it.

This is the pattern on Brother Xiao Yan's jade.

He told me that every patriarch of the Xiao Family

would have a direct link to the jade.

Tuoshe Ancient Emperor Jade is a valuable weapon for the entire clan.

It's connected to the clan patriarch and shares the same fate.

The Xiao Family is the Xiao Clan.
