We took the following shots on the eighth floor.

There was a pool and everyone was like:

"This is the nicest spot from the hotel"!

We didn't use it to make it so obvious

but, I saw some very interesting props there.

The sky in Concepción is magical.

Its blue color was amazing.

We had this life buoy

which is like... a complementary color.

So, we grabbed it and I used the hands

of 2 workshop participants to focus the couple.

We took a little ladder that was there

to shoot through it.

Can we move here, guys?.

I don't know if you notice...

...that your arm is more down?.

F*ck...!

I tell you, my work is not fun.

I'm tired. To be honest.

The composition of geometric figures and subjects

makes the eye see where it needs to see.

And many times we talked about it during the workshop...

Sometimes it is creating too much

and we can take away natural manners from the process

but you have to fight that

because we have faith that this final image will be worth it.

And I know many times we make people uncomfortable,

or ask them to do strange things

but... for this particular image

I took...

55 shots to achieve the photo that was worth it.

So, it's about fighting that laziness

longing that the final photo will be worth it.

With this f*ckin light...

What we need to be careful here...

(as our light is very high)

...careful with the high lights on the f*ckin noses.

That gives us away that we were in not so cool light conditions.

The sun was extremely hard

and I wanted to take a romantic photo.

The floor was made of wood, like a repeating pattern.

I put them up against the light and brought the camera closer

to fill the frame with their faces

and not show the place

just to show the interactions between them and that's it.

I love that flying hair.

When we were almost leaving,

there was a glass door

and some spaces that created geometric figures.

There I chose a very low angle,

I asked them to stand in a corner,

and to hug each other and talk.

As you can see, in this series of portraits

you never notice that we are in a hotel,

a generic / nice hotel.

We have a harsh, troublesome light

but we found solutions.

We found these magic corners.

Wherever you go,

if your radar is to look for minimalism, light inputs

and decontextualize, you will find all of those.

It's just practice previewing

and little by little, once we find a goal,

it becomes easier.
