But this time I will show you a full wedding.

Well, it was a renewal of vows.

Their names are Katsumi and Stephen.

She is Mexican, he is French-American.

They told me they would renew their vows.

5 years of marriage.

They love Oaxaca.

They have bars and restaurants in Colorado, Denver.

They wanted something relaxed, not so formal.

And they invited me to be part of this wedding.

I met them 4 or 3 years ago

while I was doing another wedding in Oaxaca.

Many times people ask me: Where do your clients come from?.

And this is where they come from.

From the energy you have at some wedding,

from giving all you have,

from people that feel your energy

and not being with a long face just doing what you where asked to do,

also connecting with all the people who are there.

I really love that.

Also, eventually put my camera down,

have some conversations

and, over the years

that turns into more bookings and more events.

They did a little ceremony,

non-religious, it was a spiritual ceremony.

Katsumi's sister was the Mistress of the Ceremony.

It was very pretty and simple.

I spent 2 days with them.

I took the first day for: 1. Connect with the people,

and to go out to take pictures of the details of the city,

of all these textures and patterns

that tell a story.

The normal story is a linear story

but we can also tell the parallel story and tell about the place,

what it feels like to be there

and not only be another guest of the wedding.

So, I try to arrive a day earlier to make these little records.

They did a little mezcal test.

I also was there with them.

When I have a chance and I know there is going to be an event,

to introduce myself,

and that the wedding day people are more relaxed.

Another special fact:

they didn't want any arrangements,

we just went to a market

to buy the things they were going to use during the ceremony.

for me, working extra hours or working a little more,

to tell a "not so standard story"...

I really love that.

And people see that as a plus

and they really enjoy your presence.

Also, you give them material that is not only about

the ceremony, the ring, the party...

You are telling their story

and that will always give more than staying after extra hours.

Personally, I rather work sooner than later.

and to sleep early as well.
