[Love of Petals]

[Episode 16]

It's you?

You know each other?

Why have you saved me over and over again?

After all, you are the son of my old friend.

How could I stand by and watch you die?

Your mother, Jiang Li,

was not only the former Flower Goddess

but also my senior fellow disciple.

[Jiang Li, Former Flower Goddess]

Back then, she violated the Heavenly law

by falling in love with the Demon King, Bai Yu,

and then gave birth to you.

After that, Bai Yu's demonic nature erupted.

He massacred the creatures of Shouyang Mountain,

and Jiang Li was implicated.

They were both executed by the Heavenly Emperor.

You were still young at that time.

I couldn't bear to leave you alone on Shouyang Mountain,

so I brought you back to the Celestial Court and looked after you.

Bai Yu massacred the creatures of Shouyang Mountain,

but the Heavenly Emperor was merciful

and granted you the Soul-Exempting Water.

Lyu Gengyun,

if Immortal Yuxiao had not

considered your mother's relationship with him,

you wouldn't even have the chance to stand here.

I'd rather not

have this immortal root!

But unexpectedly, at the Immortal Assembly,

you were so impulsive.

You irritated the Heavenly Emperor

and were banished to the mortal world.

What exactly do you want to do?

It looks like you still have prejudice against me.

Fine.

Rest well.

I won't disturb you any longer.

Master.

Take a good rest first.

I'll be right back.

I'm leaving.

Just now, you used

such precious petals to save my master.

I really don't know how to express my gratitude.

My master

is just tough on the outside with a soft heart inside.

He doesn't mean to target you.

Please don't take it to heart.

He is my senior fellow disciple's son.

I know more things

about him than you do.

But...

Why is he so severely injured?

To be honest,

back then, in the mass grave,

I accidentally encountered my master.

By chance,

his Flower Spirit entered my body,

but we couldn't take it out.

Because of that, his physical condition

is so severe now.

His Flower Spirit is actually in your body?

You are the Flowers Immortal Lord.

I wonder whether you have a way

to help my master.

Did Lyu Gengyun actually wake up

because of her rescue?

Surprisingly, this person could even absorb Lyu Gengyun's Flower Spirit.

She's truly a prodigy.

So the Moonlight Peony was planted by you?

Yes.

Then do you know what is

the highest level of flower cultivation?

Cultivating flowers with flowers.

I thought you were going to say that

extracting the essence of Heaven and Earth for nourishment

was the highest level.

The essence of Heaven and Earth

is indeed very important,

but a field will be formed around the place

where hundreds of flowers are gathered.

Within that field,

the spiritual power of all flowers and plants

will be interconnected.

Their interconnected spiritual power will be very strong.

It'll be more effective than our usual care.

Therefore,

cultivating flowers with flowers

is the highest level of flower cultivation.

However,

I originally thought that

the Moonlight Peony

could be used to cure my master.

But now it looks like

the effect is minimal.

I've never heard of this method before.

But it's worth a try.

Your Excellency,

do you have any way

to save my master?

If you can help us,

in the future, if you need anything,

as long as you ask me to do it,

I'll do my best to fulfill it.

Fine.

I came here this time

just to help you protect the Moonlight Peony.

As for saving your master,

let me think of a way.

Thank you, Your Excellency.

How about

you live here temporarily?

I'll prepare a room for you.

No need.

I'm accustomed to cultivating myself in nature.

If you need anything,

you can find me at the nearby pavilion.

Alright.

Master.

How come I feel that

you have some hostility towards Immortal Yuxiao?

I don't like immortals after all.

Moreover, he's an incarnation of plum blossoms.

What's wrong with plum blossoms?

I'm an incarnation of peonies.

Then which of them

do you think is the King of Flowers?

Of course, the peony

is the King of Flowers.

Flower King, it's time to take the medicine.

I can do it myself.

Gu Qingcheng?

Your Excellency.

Qingcheng.

Have a seat.

What is this?

This is called

Plum Blossom Beverage.

It's best to use melted snow and ice for the plum blossoms.

This is a secret recipe left by my father.

I made it myself.

You can drink it now.

It's very nourishing for your body.

Thank you, Miss.

This will be very useful for me.

Then I won't stand on ceremony.

That's wonderful.

You can just call me Qingcheng.

Miss Qingcheng.

I suppose you're here

not just for this Plum Blossom Beverage, huh?

You're perceptive, Your Excellency.

I know it's not the right time to bring this up,

as you haven't fully recovered yet.

But my master's current condition

is indeed quite urgent.

I'd like to ask you

whether there's any way to save him.

You've come at the right time.

I've already found someone who knows how to save Mr. Lyu.

Tomorrow at noon,

he will come with the life-saving method.

Really?

Thank you, Your Excellency.

Then I won't bother you any longer.

Remember to drink it.

Bye.

Bye.

[Plum Blossom Beverage]

Why did my master suddenly faint again?

Ye You, do you have any solutions?

Wasn't he getting better previously?

Why has it suddenly become so serious again?

He has neither the immortal root

nor the Flower Spirit.

He can't convert the spiritual power by himself at all.

Even if his life is saved,

his condition will continue to be unstable.

In short,

while he's chatting and laughing with us at a certain moment,

he might pass away at the next moment.

It's almost noon.

According to the Flowers Immortal Lord,

when will the expert

that can save my master arrive here?

My Lord?

My Lord!

Who are you?

You must be Gu Qingcheng.

Yes.

Immortal Qingluan

is my supervisor.

He's also your master's close friend.

Hello, Your Excellency.

May I ask you

whether you're here today

to save my master?

Indeed, that is my purpose.

However,

you need to make some sacrifices.

As long as you can save my master,

I'll do anything.

I've heard that you've successfully cultivated the Moonlight Peony.

Your ascension to the Immortal Realm is not far off.

Are you sure about this?

Originally, the purpose

of my immortal cultivation

was to see my parents in Heaven.

But there are priorities in matters.

Now that my master's life is in imminent danger,

saving him is

the most important thing right now.

This white pill is called the Blood Coagulation Pill.

With it, the essence blood in your body will coagulate.

Then we can take the Flower Spirit out of your body.

However, the process of essence blood coagulation is extremely dangerous.

Your immortal power is weak,

so there's a high possibility that

you might lose your life because you can't endure it.

This brown pill

is called the Cliff-Breaking Pearl.

After taking it,

you will forget everything related to Lyu Gengyun.

After that,

you can live your own life well.

You still have a chance to make a choice.

You can make a careful decision.

I want to choose the white one.

If Lyu Gengyun finds out about this,

he'll surely kill me, won't he?

Do I just need to take the pill now?

It's necessary to protect you with my spiritual power.

Come with me.

Yes.

I've already surrounded you

with the spiritual energy of flowers and plants to protect you.

It may help alleviate your pain.

Thank you, Your Excellency.

You just need to relax.

I will guide the essence blood

in your body to coagulate in your pubic region.

After that, I will take the Flower Spirit out of your body.

Okay.

Surprisingly, the essence blood cannot be fully integrated.

Your Excellency.

Have you taken the Flower Spirit out of my body?

The Flower Spirit is already integrated with your vessels and meridians.

No one can take it out now.

How can this be?

The only one who can make the Flower Spirit integrated with an outsider's vessels and meridians

is the master of the Flower Spirit.

It looks like Lu Gengyun

was worried that you would sacrifice yourself to save him,

so he preemptively eliminated that possibility.

But

my master once told me that

when the Moonlight Peony was in full bloom,

I could transplant its root

and save him.

Why did he have to take this unnecessary step

by completely integrating his Flower Spirit with me?

Transplanting the flower root is not an easy task.

He probably lied to you intentionally

so that you could stop worrying.

I suppose the person Lyu Gengyun is most concerned about now

is you.

Master, you're awake.

You're here.

You two can chat first.

I'll go boil some water.

Why are you looking at me like that?

Immortal Qingluan

told me everything.

I really didn't make friends carefully.

I know you're easily swayed.

I didn't expect you to be such a fence-sitter.

This isn't my fault.

Both of you wanted to sacrifice yourselves

to save each other.

Why did you put me in such a dilemma?

I'm the one who didn't make friends carefully.

Master,

this really isn't Immortal Qingluan's fault.

I begged him to do it.

You see?

Using people's lives as a choice

doesn't seem like your style.

Someone must have guided you behind this.

When I was examining Lyu Gengyun's inner power,

I found that you had

planted the Sun Grass in his body.

That's what he has stayed alive till now.

So all these years,

you've been looking after him.

As a Celestial Lord in the Heavenly Realm,

how dare you secretly look after the half-demon, Lyu Gengyun?

Do you admit your crime?

Please punish me, Your Excellency.

If I had truly wanted to punish you,

I wouldn't have asked you to bring the Blood Coagulation Pill

to save him.

Thank you for your mercy, Your Excellency.

But...

Asking Gu Qingcheng to decide

whether to let herself or her beloved one die

is a bit cruel.

Depriving others of their rights to choose

is something truly cruel.

Only when Gu Qingcheng is willing

to sacrifice herself

can the Flower Spirit be kept alive.

If it's taken out forcibly,

it will damage the Flower Spirit.

By that time,

even if it's taken out,

it won't be possible to save Lyu Gengyun.

Then...

What's the reason to bring the Cliff-Breaking Pearl?

Gu Qingcheng has a gift for flowers and plants.

If she gives up on Lyu Gengyun,

I still hope that she can take the Cliff-Breaking Pearl.

By that time,

she will forget everything completely

and won't be troubled by the past relationship anymore.

Qingluan.

Immortal Yuxiao was the one

who came up with this method to save you.

These immortals

consider mortal lives as insignificant ants.

Why would he be so kind as to help me?

Regardless of his motives,

your act of integrating the Flower Spirit with Gu Qingcheng's vessels and meridians

was truly unexpected by everyone.

The Blood Coagulation Pill was wasted, too.

Is there any other way

to save my master now?

I can't think of any good solutions.

However, Immortal Yuxiao

might have a way.

I'll go find him.

There's no need to find him.

I won't accept

his help.

Master.

If you continue to be so stubborn,

I'll try to forcibly take the Flower Spirit out of my body again.

Your Excellency, thank you

for being willing to help my master.

I've already heard that you were willing to

take the Blood Coagulation Pill to save Lyu Gengyun.

But I'm very curious.

You're clearly weak and ordinary.

Why were you willing to

risk your life to save others?

One day,

if you meet someone you love,

you will surely understand this feeling.

Well,

do you have any other way

to save my master?

Master.

Master, look.

These are some new snacks I've just made.

Taste them.

Is it delicious?

What is this?

It's so fragrant and delicious.

This is made from corn.

I thought

corn should be more fragrant than ordinary rice,

so I stir-fried the corn which was coated with sugar and ghee.

Isn't it delicious?

I didn't expect that

you could even make a creative dish with corn.

If corn can even turn into a creative dish,

what else

is impossible?

Master.

The Flowers Immortal Lord has told me that

in the Misty Forest,

there's a kind of flower called Red Spider Lily.

It can be used to form a magical barrier,

which will have a miraculous healing effect on your body.

I want to go give it a try.

The Red Spider Lily is just a legendary flower.

Why do you have to waste your time and energy?

Now that the Moonlight Peony has bloomed,

perhaps we can wait a little longer.

When its spiritual energy is at its peak,

it might be able to cure me.

But previously, didn't Immortal Qingluan

mention that

transplanting the Moonlight Peony would be extremely difficult?

But I've never thought about giving up.

I want to gain more time

to find the most correct solution.

It looks like

she has already guessed that the Moonlight Peony

won't be of much help to me.

That's why she's trying to find another way.

Alright, Master.

Don't think too much.

Just rest well to recuperate.

Since the Flowers Immortal Lord

has mentioned the Red Spider Lily,

he must have a way to obtain it.

I want to go give it a try.

What do you mean?

Immortal Yuxiao

will go with you?

I've thought about it.

In this way, the chances of success will be higher.

I don't know about the Red Spider Lily.

Nor am I familiar with it.

But the Misty Forest is extremely dangerous.

No matter what, I have to go with you.

Master...

That is non-negotiable.

Then we'll set off immediately tomorrow.

Come in.

Wushuang.

What are you doing?

I'm going to secretly follow my master and Qingcheng

to go to the Misty Forest.

I'll be back soon.

Why do you need to go secretly?

My master won't let me go with them.

The Misty Forest is now full of poisonous miasma.

With his current physical condition, he can't resist it.

If he can't control his demonic nature,

I'm afraid

these immortals will have an excuse to kill him.

I'm worried.

I have to follow them.

Then I'll go with you.

Why are you going with me?

You're just a mortal.

You'll only hinder me if you go.

But I...

No buts.

My main purpose is to protect Qingcheng, too.

Don't you also want to keep Qingcheng safe?

A bellflower?

You picked this

for me when we were

on the Shouyang Mountain.

I've always kept it with me.

Take it.

It is said that

this bellflower has the function to transmit sounds over a thousand miles.

If you think of...

think of me

or

if there's anything urgent,

you can talk to it.

Thanks.

Wushuang.

Be careful on your journey.

Don't worry.

[Misty Forest]

After we pass this door,

we'll arrive at the Misty Forest.

To obtain the Red Spider Lily,

the Misty Forest is the first barrier.

Only by passing through this dense forest

will we reach the Moon-Gazing Well.

It is said that the Moon-Gazing Well

can enlarge the deepest real desire in your mind.

If you cannot get rid of such a desire,

you will be trapped in illusions forever.

Only by getting rid of such a desire

can you reach the other shore

and obtain the Red Spider Lily.

What's that sound?

The Misty Forest is full of poisonous miasma.

If we can't find our way out,

we'll be poisoned by the miasma.

Eventually,

we'll be like walking corpses and become

living dead people.

Let's go.

Stay close to me.

There's a lot of miasma inside.

It's easy to get separated.

Don't be afraid.

Stay close to me.

So,

these living dead people

came to the Moon-Gazing Well previously?

Yes.

These people became like this because they couldn't

get rid of their desires.

But you don't need to worry.

They have no sense of hearing or smell.

As long as you don't get close to them,

you'll be safe.

Are you feeling unwell?

I'm fine, Master.

Why don't we rest for a while?

The miasma is too strong here.

I...

Master.

I'm fine.

I'm really fine.

Now I can't even handle such a trivial matter.

The meridians have already appeared on the surface of his body.

His markings as a floral demon are emerging.

It'll be hard to suppress his demonic nature.

This Jade Hairpin

is a magic weapon from the Heavenly Realm.

It can absorb the miasma around you.

However,

I only have one.

Since you have such a good tool,

why didn't you mention it earlier?

Master, you...

You are a mortal.

You need it more than I do.

Let's go.

Red beans grow in the southern land.

How many branches will sprout in spring?

May you pick more of them.

Because these beans are symbols of longing.

My Lord, as for what you've arranged,

I understand it all.

I guarantee that Gu Qingcheng and Lyu Gengyun

won't be able to get out of this Misty Forest.

Well done.

You will be rewarded accordingly.

Thank you, My Lord.

Who's there?

Qingcheng, stay close to me.

Let's go.

Qingcheng.

The miasma ahead is getting thicker and thicker.

Stay close to me. Got it?

Qingcheng!

Qingcheng!

Qingcheng!

Gu Qingcheng!

Master!

Master!

Your Excellency!

Master!

Is this the Moon-Gazing Well?

Flower Goddess.

Flower Goddess!

Flower Goddess!

Flower Goddess, please don't be angry.

I've disturbed you while you're resting.

What is this place?

This is your celestial mansion.

Celestial mansion?
