[Love of Petals]

[Episode 15]

How can I return the Flower Spirit to you?

How did you know that

my flower spirit is within you?

Drink this cup of tea,

and I'll escort you back.

That day in the Cave Paradise,

after I drank the tea given to me by the Flower Immortal,

I saw…

Master?

Wait a moment.

I'm not Lyu Gengyun.

I am the Flower Spirit.

But in your inner world,

I've taken his form, that's all.

Flower Spirit?

Is this within my inner world?

Have you forgotten?

Back when Lyu Gengyun was still a peony,

you absorbed me into your body.

So,

it was at that moment...

If you still can't remember,

he'll die.

What do you mean?

The Flower Spirit's function

is to absorb the spiritual energy of nature.

His immortal root was already damaged;

losing the Flower Spirit

would make it nearly impossible to replenish his spiritual energy.

Once it is depleted,

he will surely die.

Master never told me about this.

Then,

did he tell you

how to return you to him?

I am already bound to your bloodline.

If you forcibly remove me,

your essence will flow in reverse,

your five senses will be lost,

and you'll become a hollow body with only a heartbeat remaining.

Maybe he just

didn't want you to suffer a fate worse than death.

The Flower Spirit is inside me,

but I don't feel anything.

It has neither helped nor hindered me.

Why would removing it have such dire consequences?

How could it be useless?

Mortals struggle to cultivate immortality.

You searched for so many paths to cultivate immortality

and failed to take even the first step,

yet after meeting Lyu Gengyun,

your progress skyrocketed.

That's because I've been helping you.

Then…

Will growing the Moonlight Peony

save Master?

Qingcheng!

Qingcheng!

Enough.

You should go back now.

When I opened my eyes again,

I was already back at the Mountain God's Mansion.

I never expected

you to be able to communicate with my flower spirit.

It seems your connection to immortality

is deepening.

One day, you will surely fulfill your wish

and attain the path of the Flower Immortal.

Master,

if I achieve immortality sooner,

does that mean I can return the Flower Spirit

to you sooner?

Haven't you already obtained the Qionghua Twig?

If you successfully grow the Moonlight Peony

and transplant its roots to me, that will be enough.

Master,

I will make sure it grows.

I'll start planting it as soon as I return to the flower nursery.

Master,

let me fetch you some water first.

It seems

I don't have much time left.

[May the children be safe and everything goes as they wish.]

Look,

do you know this character?

It's "write."

Smart.

Take it over.

The rice cake is here.

This color looks really nice,

so vibrant and festive.

Master,

you're finally back.

Are you tired?

Put the wine on the side.

That's good enough.

Good.

Pingkang.

Let it get closer to you.

Put it here.

Qingcheng.

Master.

Master is back.

Master,

did you find the Qionghua Twig?

Yes.

That's good.

I thought

you wouldn't make it back in time for the New Year celebration.

Why are there

so many red fabric strips here?

Young Master Sun arranged them.

He said that

if we write our New Year wishes on the red strips

and hang them on the tree,

they will all come true.

This is

the first New Year we're celebrating together;

we have to make it lively!

Yes!

So what are your

New Year wishes?

As for me,

I hope that

I can travel far and wide

with Lan An next year.

I just wish for

everyone to be safe and healthy.

What about you, Wuyuzi?

I hope that every New Year,

we

can all be together like this—happy and joyful.

The nine of us,

not one less.

What about you, Shan Xiao?

I...

I want to find a beautiful wife this year.

Shan Xiao has been enlightened!

-That's a good wish. -What about Pingkang?

Wushuang's wish

is my wish.

My wish

is

for my master to be safe and sound.

I also hope that Master

will overcome adversity and find good fortune.

We all hope Master stays safe

and sound.

I hope Master will be safe

and sound.

Well...

Isn't anyone going to ask about my wish?

I'll keep it simple.

My first wish

is for everyone to stay healthy

and live a long life—

uh, a thousand…

no, ten thousand years!

My second wish

is for less conflict in the Three Realms,

so fewer innocent lives will be lost.

My third wish

is for Immortal Qingluan

to give me more treasures

and more personal space.

I don't want to be summoned and dismissed at will all the time.

As for my fourth wish,

I want...

This is delicious too.

Here, try this. You should eat too.

Eat more.

I wasn't finished talking, why are you...

Try this.

It's delicious.

This is for you.

It's snowing!

It's said that

wishes made during the first snow

are more likely to come true.

Master,

what's your wish?

My wish

is right before my eyes.

Here goes!

Alright, put me down.

Master,

I can see that

the spiritual energy within you is faint,

and I fear it may be difficult for you to maintain your human form.

Your meridians are becoming visible;

if this continues,

not only will it be hard to keep your human form,

but you might even directly demonize and lose control.

I will find a way to suppress it.

How will you suppress it?

You used to have spiritual energy,

but now that it's gone, how can you control it?

I have my ways.

For now, don't tell Qingcheng

about this.

Do you think you can hide it from Gu Qingcheng?

She cares so much about you,

so she's bound to find out sooner or later.

♫Get love in the world of mortals♫

♫Listen to the words of flowers through the years♫

♫Having eye contact with you, it's like we've gone back to the moment we first met♫

♫I fell in love with you at first glance. I've been looking for you for thousands of years♫

♫Evergreen like the bond we share♫

♫Liuli grass sways, carrying my longing♫

♫Fate turns, time flows like a waterwheel♫

♫Peonies bloom, stars shine deep in the clouds♫

Qingcheng.

Master!

Master, look.

The Moonlight Peony

has finally budded.

The Qionghua Twig truly lives up to its reputation.

But now that all the power of the Qionghua Twig

has been infused into it;

when will it finally bloom?

Please bloom soon.

It takes time

for the Moonlight Peony to bloom;

it won't happen that quickly.

I'll try harder.

You need to grow up quickly.

Moonlight Peony,

Master is counting on you.

Once the Moonlight Peony blooms,

she will realize that doing this

is completely meaningless.

Master,

what will you do after that?

I just don't want to see her worried all day.

Giving her hope

can make her happy for several days.

And then what?

When she finds out you lied to her,

she might end up hating you.

If only the Moonlight Peony

could really save Master.

Miss,

you seem to have something on your mind.

Pretty lady,

are you unhappy?

Because I

worry about my master every day.

I'm so worried that I

can't sleep well

or eat properly.

Miss,

your master

surely

wouldn't want you to be unhappy,

right?

Who...

Who allowed you to guess my thoughts?

How do you know what's in my heart?

Even my master doesn't know.

Because I

am always paying attention to you,

of course I know what you're thinking.

You're always paying attention to me?

Could it be that...

Could it be that you still hold a grudge

against me for leaving without saying goodbye last time

and have been watching over me?

But I'm completely fine now.

Forget it.

Let's

continue to worry about whether Qingcheng

can grow the Moonlight Peony

to save Mr. Lyu.

You bookworm.

Don't worry needlessly.

I also believe that Qingcheng

can definitely do it.

The Moonlight Peony has finally bloomed;

[Qingcheng Flower Nursery]

Master can be saved now.

Master can be saved now.

♫The dimming lamp still yearns for the moon by the door♫

I can't let you get soaked.

♫The tea has cooled, yet I still recall that night♫

We went through

so much trouble to grow you.

♫A lifetime of love, carried by one heart alone♫

♫Gone in the blink of an eye♫

You know how to hold an umbrella for the flower,

♫No escape from illusion’s end♫

but why don't you hold one for yourself?

♫Vermilion marks, silver bells, and a flowing robe—lost to sight♫

♫A crimson-stained sword holds a single thought♫

Master,

♫With one thought, I am lost to the dark♫

the flower bloomed!

♫From that moment, my soul drifts astray♫

♫Leaving me alone to wander this vast world♫

No wonder I felt much better

when I woke up this morning.

♫Beneath the Stone of Three Lives, we vowed never to meet again♫

Are you really feeling better?

Of course.

Didn't you also say that

that this Moonlight Peony is a rare treasure?

♫The vows of youth have long faded from memory♫

Its spiritual energy is the most abundant.

♫Three lifetimes, three fates—forgotten once reborn♫

Master.

Your lips...

♫Only the memory of that final glance remains♫

♫Beneath the Stone of Three Lives, we vowed never to meet again♫

Why do you keep staring at my lips?

I'm not staring at your lips.

♫The vows of youth have long faded from memory♫

I'm just checking your complexion.

♫Three lifetimes, three fates—forgotten once reborn♫

Master, a rainbow!

♫What haunts me is the curve of your face♫

Did you see it?

Yes.

♫A love severed in this life, yet bound for three more♫

[Flower God's Mansion]

Flower God,

I have something to report.

I'm currently nourishing the flowers with music.

If it is not urgent,

report to me later.

[Maid of the Heavenly Realm, Tiandong]

The Moonlight Peony in the mortal world has bloomed.

Would you like

to take a look?

Centuries have passed in the blink of an eye,

yet such a talent has emerged in this world.

Interesting.

I shall go and meet this person.

Don't hurt the flower.

Gu Qingcheng,

you actually managed to grow

the Moonlight Peony!

Move aside.

My peony thrives in the shade and fears heat.

The sun is so hot today;

let it breathe some fresh air.

Never mind about it being hot;

I can barely stand the heat myself.

How is it getting hot again

in this season?

Indeed.

The weather has been acting strange lately.

Exactly.

What are you doing?

Master,

this is my new design.

How is it?

With this,

the Moonlight Peony shouldn't

have to endure the sun all the time anymore.

But

I've been shading it for several hours now,

and it still looks like

it's lacking water.

Is the umbrella not thick enough?

Or is there a missing section?

I'll go get another one.

Wait a moment.

This Moonlight Peony

absorbs heat through body temperature.

No matter how many umbrellas you use, it won't help.

Then what should I do?

I can't just leave it under the sun like this!

I have a solution.

What's this?

This is an ice barrier I've set up.

It can isolate all the heat.

Your body hasn't fully recovered yet,

and you used your spiritual power again.

Don't worry.

As the Moonlight Peony gradually recovers,

so will I.

Really?

Stop overthinking.

Come with me

to the swing and let's talk.

Master,

after I

win first place in the Floral Competition,

I'll be able to transplant

the Moonlight Peony's roots to you!

Then,

we can travel the world.

I want to watch the sunrise over the sea

and

see the aurora in the desert.

Or we could stay close

and go to West Lake

to listen to the rain—that sounds nice too.

Okay,

then let's go to West Lake first

to listen to the rain,

then watch the sunrise.

And then head to the desert.

I want to plant the Azure Cloud Flower

in every place we visit.

Master,

I also want to learn

how to cook the local delicacies from every place we visit

and make them for you.

Though I don't know if I can learn them all.

Master,

which dish do you like the most?

Master.

Master?

What's wrong with you?

I'm fine.

It seems that

I won't be able to go to the desert with you.

Then we won't go to the desert.

The desert isn't a place where the Azure Cloud Flower can grow.

We won't go.

Master.

Qingcheng.

Master.

Don't cry.

I'm alright.

I'm not crying, Master.

Is it that the Moonlight Peony cannot save you,

or is it that I failed to grow it properly?

Or is it the flower of the Ice Barrier...

You grew the Moonlight Peony very well.

In my heart,

Qingcheng

is the best little gardener.

And I believe that

as long as Qingcheng wishes,

even in the desert,

the Azure Cloud Flower can bloom.

Master,

without you, there would be no Azure Cloud Flower.

The "cloud" in its name belongs to you.

Qingcheng cannot bring it to bloom.

Master, please don't say such things anymore.

♫A flower blooms, a thought arises♫

♫A thought descends into the dust of fate♫

♫Fate stirs, whose gaze lingers with longing?♫

♫Stirring dreams of joy deep within the heart♫

♫Light, still lingering♫

♫For the days and nights are too brief♫

♫Before we share the rain's refrain♫

♫A falling star, two eyes embrace♫

♫In this world, blossoms fall like dreams, countless as the stars♫

♫Yet no radiant light compares to the grace of your gaze♫

♫Through storm and snow, love carves its trace♫

♫Reluctantly, I take one last lingering look♫

♫I vow to stay, through time and tide♫

♫Like morning dew, unswayed, untried♫

♫A single tear, a thousand words♫

Qingcheng,

I hope you will always be happy and safe.

I've left a letter in your heart.

♫Enter your dreams♫

When the time is right,

you can open it.

♫Then, I know you love me♫

♫I suddenly have a thought♫

♫Love means I should protect you♫

♫In the mortal world♫

♫The longing you planted♫

♫In your memories♫

♫You have experienced joy and sorrow♫

♫I'll wait to meet you again in the thousands of times of reincarnation♫

Master.

♫Don't forget the previous life when petals are falling like rain♫

♫We've met again after a long separation and you sound the same as before♫

Master!

♫I long to look back so that my life can be complete♫

Master!

♫I travelled across the River of Forgetfulness and it was like a dream♫

Master, what's wrong with you?

Master, wake up!

♫The memories of the past almost drowned me♫

Master, don't scare me!

♫I've been missing you and I thought we could stay together forever♫

[Qingcheng Flower Nursery]

Master!

♫I vow to stay, through time and tide♫

♫Like morning dew, unswayed, untried♫

♫Never forget this eternal bond, for all time♫

♫Never forget this eternal bond, for all time♫

So it's you who have grown the Moonlight Peony?

You are...

Every household in Pingcheng worships me;

why do you not recognize me?

He's the Flowers Immortal Lord,

why do you still not pay your respects?

Tiandong,

mind your manners.

[Flowers Immortal Lord, Yuxiao]

Your Excellency,

I beg you!

Please save my master.

I beg you!

Your Excellency,

why hasn't my master awakened yet?

His body is too weak to absorb any nourishment.

No matter how much spiritual power I give him,

it's useless.

What should I do now?

Your Excellency,

this...

This is your primordial spirit—Plum Blossom Petals.

A hundred years have passed,

and the world has long been at peace.

There have been few occasions where such power was needed.

It is said that the petals of the Primordial Spirit

can save lives.

You do have an eye for things.

The Primordial Spirit cultivated by the Flowers Immortal Lord

is a five-petaled red plum blossom.

Each petal

holds immense power,

They all carry the Hundred Flowers Immortal Lord's

surging and pure spiritual energy.

Not only can it heal and save lives,

but it is also a formidable artifact.

Tiandong,

step outside for now.

Yes.

Master,

you're awake?

Thank you, Your Excellency.

It's you?

You know each other?
