As you can see, today I have a

little bit of a hangover, a little bit

of fatigue, because this weekend we had a

wedding and, like the rest of the year,

it was a pretty crazy wedding.

It had to be celebrated on Saturday and

finally it was celebrated on Sunday due to

Covid issues.

And not only that, but it changed location

several times.

First, it changed community, it had to have

been in Catalonia, and finally it changed to

Aragón.

In Aragón, first the couple chose a farm

and then later they chose another one, so

it was a bit crazy and we spent

two days that we did not know if

we were going to photograph them, if yes,

if not.

It was a wedding of 150 guests, yes,

150 guests, crazy.

So nothing, but a good report came out,

a good session came out and we will

show it to you.

I think it was a very nice wedding,

but in this video I am not going

to tell you about what this wedding was,

nor do I want to tell you about

the balance of the year.

I want to create a video to tell

you a little about how the balance has

been or how the year has been for

2020, which, as you well know, has been

a bit chaotic, bitter at times and crazy

in others.

But I want to dedicate this video to

telling you about this photo.

Not long ago, when I published it, there

were several of you who wrote to me

in comments, both on Instagram and Facebook, hey,

So, nothing further than that, this video is

designed to tell you about this image with

all the luxury of details.

First of all, I must tell you that

this image was taken in a building that

is in Calpe, it is called Muralla Roja

and it was built in the 60s by

an architect named Ricardo Bofill.

This building is a set of apartments where

people live, okay?

It is not a museum or anything like

that.

And it is designed or it is a

little inspired by what would be the Casbah

or the Medina of a small Arab city,

okay?

In which it simulates a little the labyrinthine

form of moving between the streets.

Also the painting, how it is painted, because

the exterior of the building is all red,

hence the name of the red wall.

But inside they are all courtyards that are

distributed, as I have told you, in a

labyrinthine way, in which each courtyard is painted

in a different color, right?

It can be pink, for example, light blue,

as has been the case in which we

take the image, or other types of colors,

okay?

And all that is perfectly designed to exert

a contrast with the sky or if not

to mimic the sky.

It is like a paranoia, but it is

an incredible place to take photos of the

pre-wedding session that we did to Manu

and Luna, okay?

But hey, I would like to show you

several images in this video so that you

can see a little how the idea arose,

how we solved it, how we executed it

and what we are also going to show

you videos that we recorded with the GoPro

so that you can see a little bit

of where we were, right?

Because I must tell you that this session,

sorry, this series was the last one we

took after having been almost more or less

for five hours of session, okay?

And simply, when we were about to finish,

I asked the couple that, well, I wanted

them to stand together on what was just

the railing or what was the outside side

of the stairs, right?

So then, first I asked them to stand

together.

As it did not fit, I tried to

force a little, but you see that the

ear was meowing with laughter, his ass was

breaking and well, I mean, I already saw

that the photo did not work, right?

So I directly asked Manu to come with

us.

Of course, if I say that I asked

Manu to come with us, it was because

we were taking pictures from our apartment.

I mean, our apartment, one of the windows

gave to what was the interior courtyard that

you are seeing, that is, with which we

were face to face, okay?

Of course, when I told him, please Manu,

I want you to come with us, I

saw that she was left alone there, that

is, only Luna, with which I clearly saw

that there was a pretty interesting photo, right?

Why interesting?

First because of the composition, it is a

super interesting composition, you see that it is

crossing in X and then because of the

color contrast, right?

If I say color contrast, it was because

the whole background, as you are seeing, is

blue and she is in warm temperature, so

there would be a super super interesting contrast.

In addition, as I am going to talk

to you later about the position that she

adopts and all these things, okay?

Well, I mean, once I took several, notice

that I had doubts, right?

If I took an image in which Luna

was with her eyes open, or if I

took an image in which Luna was with

her eyes closed.

Obviously I wanted something super dreamy, something super,

super pleasant, super relaxed, super calm, so that

was it, right?

Notice that also, when it was time to

pose her, when it was time to direct

her, I asked her to adopt her body

a little, to feel comfortable on that ladder,

right?

I was interested in an elbow falling here,

that is, a hand falling here, leaning on

the stairs, and the other falling here.

For what?

To form two triangles, right?

To form that triangulation.

Notice that they are all triangles.

Well, I also wanted her to take care

of that.

And notice that when we ask a girl

for this, her hip moves to one side

and the best comes out of the woman

as such, right?

From the female figure, which was what I

wanted to capture there, okay?

I was already taking several.

Notice that there is also one in black

and white.

Why?

Because when I started editing, I thought that

the final photo would be in black and

white, right?

And I rejected it for two reasons.

One, because with black and white there was

not as much contrast as in color.

And two, because the whole report was thought

out and conceived to work in color.

With which, then, placing a black and white

one aesthetically broke a lot, right?

So, for those two reasons, it was the

ones that I rejected, okay?

And finally it was in color.

As you are commenting, with open eyes and

already with closed eyes, okay?

Once I shot several, right?

And I already made sure that I had

more or less the photo that I was

looking for.

Ah, sorry, before I continue.

The photo was taken with the 45mm Teenshift,

okay?

I have already told you a lot of

times about this lens.

As you already know, it is perfect for

architecture, it was perfect to play with the

lines that were not put on, that is,

they were not totally mother.

For this, I raised what is the axis,

as you are seeing, okay?

You see that it has risen, okay?

With that, I already made sure that everything

was straight and, as you already know, for

portraits it is one of the lenses that

I simply love, right?

Because it creates an air, it creates a

super, super interesting atmosphere.

Remember that I had asked Manu to come

to the apartment because I wanted to have

Manu on one side of my frame and

my friend Luna on the other side, that

is, in the background, right?

I mean, play with two perspectives, one close,

one far.

Of course, being Manu right inside the apartment,

he hardly had texture, he had no light

on his face, so I asked Erika to

illuminate me, right?

Of course, I also asked Erika that the

light was warm, that the temperature was warm,

for what?

As you can imagine, right?

So that there was contrast between one thing

and another, I mean, between Manu and Luna.

So then we had a super interesting contrast,

okay?

Simply, the reason why I told Manu to

look this way was because Luna looked that

way, right?

I mean, so that there was, in a

way, a certain connection between the two.

Well, I was already taking several, until I

got on a sofa to have them almost

at the same height, because if not, Manu

would look a bit like that, and as

you know, if we shoot in a certain

way upwards, it will not look good at

all, and the composition knew that it was

not going to work.

Well, although the image did not turn out

bad, it is not a bad image, it

is not one of my absolute favorites, and

in fact I rejected it, and in fact

I have not published it, for several reasons,

right?

The main reason is because aesthetically or visually

it does not work, since the entire report

is worked with natural light, so using artificial

light aesthetically, as I have already told you,

I mean, it did not end up working,

so I ended up discarding it, right?

And well, finally, as you already know, I

stayed with this image, right?

I think it is one of the most

iconic images of the report, and that not

only me, of course, as it is obvious,

I liked it, but I saw that everyone

seemed to love the idea, right?

Or that he loved the photo, right?

Now I would like to show you a

little bit, in a quick video, how we

edit it, right?

Well, how I edit the image, and how

it was solved.

The first starting point was to use bochorno,

as you know, bochorno is part of the

package of the presses of develop, and once

I have more or less bochorno, I'm just

going to adjust the contrast a little more,

and now it comes when I'm going to

apply an intelligent object, because notice that I

have all the perfect background, okay?

And once my mission is, once I have

the background right, with the blue that I

want and all that, once I have done

this, I want to make an intelligent object

to edit it separately and give it a

color temperature higher than it, I mean, a

much warmer color temperature so that it stands

out, so that the contrast between the background

with it is much, much greater, do you

understand me?

And now, well, you see that I started

editing it.

To finish, I just straightened it, you already

know that it is CTRL A, CTRL T,

and we are going to straighten all the

lines, and once we have that, we will

cut it, because as you can see, the

part on the right is left over, and

the upper left part is also left over,

okay?

Remember the importance of clean backgrounds, of neutral

backgrounds, that will make our characters, our couples,

stand out much, much more, okay?
