we had, to get to shoot a wedding

this year seem to be dissipating.

It seems that ...

I don't know if in the end we

will be lucky enough to photograph a wedding

in September or October.

But hey, after the storm comes the calm,

and already returning to the storm, there is

nothing better than for a rainy day to

start editing.

And so we are going to take advantage

of today's chapter to tell you a little

about editing.

And first of all, to clarify that, like

other colleagues, they are not convinced or they

do not like to sit on the computer

to edit.

For me it is a pleasure, I have

always loved it.

Of course, I'm not going to be a

hypocrite and I'm going to tell you that

I love to sit down every ten hours,

but when I have images that have been

shot with all the love in the world,

then sitting down and editing them for me

is perfect.

I would also like to tell you that

the tools you use to edit, whether it

is Face One, Photoshop, Camera Raw or Lightroom,

what I want to make clear first of

all is that the main thing is to

have a good image.

If you don't have a good image, even

if you put editing in it, it's going

to end up being a disaster anyway.

The tools we have today, and in this

case, what you are going to see in

today's chapter, for example, both Bridge and Camera

Raw, as well as Photoshop, are tools that

will help me to enhance.

And if I say enhance, it is because

I also want to make it clear that,

before each shot, that is, seconds before we

press the button, that we have that final

photo, we already imagine, we already intuit how

the final result will be.

Therefore, keep in mind that it is shot

according to what we are going to reveal.

It is prepared.

In today's post I want to talk to

you about color editing.

We need a chapter just to talk about

color.

I know that many of you have asked

me to please create a video about editing

and I already anticipate that I will not

be responsible if any of you get bored

or end up falling asleep before the video

is over.

But let's get to it.

I want to go over a little bit.

I just want to show you some of

the images, how they were captured from the

beginning to how they were edited.

You see that my main mission is to

leave the images as neutral as possible and

then simply, for example, enhance them.

In addition, I would like to talk to

you in this video about a couple of

different types of revealing, or I would like

to divide it into two parts, one of

which I want to talk about how I

edit my photos using my presets.

As you all know, the Develop platform created

some presets just a year ago.

They are inspired by my way of understanding

revealing or my way of understanding editing.

First, I will use my presets in several

of my images.

And then, so as not to seem sectarian,

I would also like to show you, for

people who do not have my presets, I

would like to show you how I edit

an image from the beginning.

As I was saying, I'm going to use

Bridge and Camera Raw so that no one

is scared.

Lightroom is absolutely the same.

In fact, Lightroom and Camera Raw have the

same revealing engine, but with a different interface.

I want to tell you that even the

palettes or the controls are in the same

place, both in one and the other.

So let's get started.

Let's start with our presets, how we work

with them.

There are three types of presets, but the

main ones we use for color are the

so-called Bochorno and the so-called Tramontana.

Starting with the latter, Tramontana is designed for

images, for example, like this one, in which,

as you can see, I want you to

look at the histogram that we have at

the top right.

As you can see, the histogram is perfectly

balanced to the right.

There is no burnt area, neither in the

highlights nor in the blacks or in the

shadows, just an intrusive light that we have

here, but it will be corrected very quickly.

In this case, in this type of images,

what we are going to do is, as

I was saying, is to apply, for example,

Tramontana.

You see that the impact it gives is

quite severe and the image does not finish

at all, but whenever I use Tramontana, I

lower a little light and practically the image,

as you can see, is already finished.

Next, I'm going to reframe a little more

and load that part with more light that

we have at the top left.

It would be almost ready.

Now, to enhance what we have in the

center, the two girls walking, I'm going to

darken the environment a little and then I

will focus on them.

This is important.

Do you see the brush tool below?

Do you see that I have here both

contrast and multiply?

Well, if I want to darken, I'm just

going to use the multiply tool and, as

you can see, I'm going to go up

a little more, and I'm going to go

a little darker here, another one over there

and another one here.

In the same way, I want to put

it a little bit here, I want to

put it a little more here so that

it has a little more density in this

part and even give it a little more

light.

And now I will add a new one,

also in brush, but this time it will

be in contrast.

And notice that right away you are going

to see that the yellow of the dress

is, you see, with much more body.

Here I am also going to give it

a little and here I am also going

to give it a little more.

Practically, we already have the image practically ready,

so we could save it.

I would like to go through another of

the images to continue using the Preset Tramontana

and that you take a look at it

too.

I want you to compare one with another

and since it is a game of reds,

it is an image that is perfectly dedicated

to red and we are going to open

it again so that you can see how

easy it is to edit with this preset.

So, let's go through the Tramontana quickly.

You see that it has gone completely wrong,

but again we go down and the thing

is already taking color.

Above all, what does not convince me is

that red that I have out there that

is at the limit of being burned.

I'm going to lower the brightness a bit.

There it is perfect and I'm just going

to reframe because clearly that tree that we

have to the left, upper left, look, I'm

running out.

Sorry, first of all, excuse me.

You see that from the shot I already

decided to cut, for example, the same groom's

head.

That's why I wanted to make it clear

to you that Photoshop or Camera Raw or

Lightroom is not going to save you from

your problems if your image is not correct.

What Photoshop or Camera Raw is going to

help us in this case is to enhance

and above all when we enhance that image

I try that it does not smell like

digital, but that it seems in quotes natural.

I'm going to leave it more or less

a little thing like this.

Simply what I had told you, I wanted

to darken all these chairs a little bit,

but only darken the sides so that it

had a little body, okay?

Simply if I want to darken, well, you

know, I'm going to go to the tool,

sorry, to the tool multiply, sorry, we're going

to leave it there.

Okay, one more, another one here.

As you can see, we are already darkening,

I'm going to give a little more light,

sorry, and I'm going to put a little

bit here, a little bit here too.

I'm going to remove a little bit of

light, there, perfect.

I'm going to put a little more here

and I'm going to put a little more

around here, okay?

On the sides.

And as you can see, the image would

practically be almost finished, okay?

That would be the way to use the

Tramontana preset.

And now I would like to show you

what would be the preset that I usually

use the most and that is called Bochorno.

I mean, let's go for this image.

I would like to show you the place

where it was made, so you can take

a look.

It is a completely blue wall in which

there is a white circle, it is painted,

there is the white circle, so let's just

adjust it.

You are going to see that practically with

the Bochorno tool, you see, practically the image

is totally ready, okay?

So let's put a little bit of cane

around here, let's frame it until more or

less the whole background is neutral.

And this works, I'm going to raise it

a little more until the circle is almost

centered.

Once I have done this, I'm going to

give it a little more contrast, okay?

And now I would like to make the

blue have a denser color, have a slightly

higher saturation and for that I am going

to apply the brush again, and in this

case, as you well know, it will be

Multiply.

Both the Multiply brush and the Contrast brush

in the case of Multiply contrasts and darkens

and in the case of Contrast lightens and

darkens.

Let's paint a little bit, let's see what

happens, let's leave it more or less there,

without making it look very false.

I'm going to paint a little bit down

here and I'm just going to paint a

little bit up here.

I think the image is practically ready.

Again, I'm going to put a little light

on it to see what would happen and

I would like to see that, okay, there,

a little more contrast, okay, the image is

ready, okay?

You see that really, well, using both a

preset and another, it advances very, very fast.

The good thing, both the preset, for example,

of Bochorno and the preset of Tramontana are

making my work easier, because you see that

actually pressing the preset and a little bit

adjusting a little bit with what would be

brushes to contrast or to multiply the thing

already advances a lot.

I would like to show you one more

image with this preset, simply analyzing quickly, for

example, this image, look how well it works,

right?

That each of them, the light touches the

exact place that does not bother them in

the eye that the image, you see that

touches the surrealism, right?

Simply what I had explained to you, let's

go for the Bochorno tool, you see that

it has darkened a little, I will lighten

a little more, I will give it a

little bit of color temperature so that it

gains a little bit of strength, you had

already seen that it had 5000 ISO, okay?

I'm just going to give it a little

bit of focus and I'm going to remove

a little bit of noise and now, what

am I going to do?

The usual, right?

I want that this area that we have

here, the bride's dress, that for my taste

is a little bit above the rest, I'm

talking about lighting, right?

It seems that the blow of attention goes

directly for the dress and I would like

it to be a little more towards the

whole image, right?

So, as I had told you, I'm going

to multiply, everything is getting darker quite well,

you are not seeing it, I'm going to

go a little bit in this area, I'm

going to lower a little this here and

I'm going I'm going to go down a

little more, okay?

And above all, this red that we have

here, that you can read, I want to

lower it, I want to lower also here,

okay?

And now, I would like to get a

little bit in what is the ground, as

we are seeing, I want to give it

a little more force, I mean, I want

to give it contrast and lighting, therefore, what

I'm going to do now is add a

new brush and I'm going to contrast, okay?

Just as you are seeing, now here a

little bit and you are already, you see

how it wins quite a lot of body

and also I'm going to give the girl's

blue dress okay?

There I have gone a little bit, so

I'm going to erase it because it is

not convincing me at all that and what

I'm going to do then is simply to

darken it give the tool multiply and you

are already seeing it is going to go

down there, perfect!

Okay, more or less we would have practically

the image ready I was just going to

do a little vignetting to leave the image

ready and I think that we are almost

about to have it, a little bit of

contrast and a little bit of lighting and

that's it, okay?

explain to you for people who do not

have my presets I would like to tell

you a little bit how the workflow would

be we are going to start from the

beginning just look again the frame that I

use lighten I will use contrast and also

I know from experience that the contrast tool

want to do is darken a little this

lighten and darken is that if we use

darken it will never burst black and if

we use lighten even if we paint over

white it will never break the white it

will simply lighten with which it is perfect

it is as if it were a tool

and in quotes intelligent once we have done

this I'm going to give it a little

contrast here very little and you are already

to be perfect I just give brushstrokes to

lighten, contrast and the thing is over just

to give it a little touch stronger a

kick of contrast what I'm going to do

is select with a link all this area

I'm going to make a layer of levels

and I'm going to give it a little

light there and I'm going to give the

tool to contrast and also in the midtones

a little to the right but be careful

what I'm going to do now to gain

saturation is the fusion mode put it in

luminosity and now you see that this is

enough to gain a little more density just

remove these imperfections so that the image is

I used to reveal in which I focused

as you are seeing by the image in

general and then I focus to highlight even

more I'm going to go for the last

image well, let's open it ok first of

all I'm going to frame it a little

more until it looks like this I'm going

to show you the trick of the photo

you are going to see it I simply

exposed the highlights and as you are seeing

in many of these images with such hard

lights what I do is expose the highlights

and I remove two points of diaphragm I

mean under two points of diaphragm in quotes

I'm making a mistake to later reveal it

because I don't want to show the guy

do contrast from good to first you see

that I have almost loaded it I give

it a little light the highlights are going

to go down the shadows not much up

the whites down and the blacks a little
