Taking a train to Chamonix in the French Alps,

eight teams competed for first place.

Whoever runs the fastest without falling in the snow

is going to get there first.

When the snow settled, Brodie and Kurt won the leg.

because it's covered in snow all year round.

At 15,771 feet,

it is the highest mountain in Central Europe.

Teams must now ascend nearly 11,000 feet

into the shadow of Mont Blanc to Les Grands Montets,

where they'll battle the thin air

and sudden weather changes to get their next clue,

precariously perched on the edge of this icy mountain.

that are a crucial part of surviving in these unforgiving mountains.

In order to avoid deadly avalanches like this,

ski patrol safety teams use dynamite to set off controlled explosions...

..preventing the accumulation of snow.

Traversing this mountainside, Via Ferrata,

teams must deliver explosives and lunch

to these hardworking professionals.

Once the dynamite is detonated,

they can make their way back to safe ground with their next clue.

To survive in these mountains overnight,

building shelter is an essential mountaineering skill

teams will now learn by setting up camp.

Using this finished example as a reference,

teams must properly pitch their tent to earn their next clue.

and I was very, very careful about where I put it this time.

We went into this leg trying to get to number one,

so the best way for us to do that would be to take a risk,

so we did the 'Campsite' challenge

because we knew, at that point, that no other teams were doing it.

Heights are not my favourite thing

and we're going higher.

Well, just imagine it's like you're going to be up there

and jump down to the bottom,

but, really, it's just mind magic.

So, traversing the mountain was actually a little difficult.

Kurt led the way and he had a rope that connected to me

and we really struggled with that rope the entire time.

build a wall of snow around it.

There had to be about a metre of snow on every side

to protect the camp site from the wind.

Before I was a professional dancer, I was a competitive snowboarder.

I lived on the mountains for 10 years,

and since I moved to LA

I haven't been able to go back to the mountains,

so this is, like, unbelievable.

It was really an amazing thing to come back to today.

It was a great place for him to do a challenge like this.

This is something I'll remember for the rest of my life for sure.

Yeah, definitely when I was paragliding over the French Alps,

there was a moment in there where I was just so grateful

for the opportunity to be here and to be able to do this.
