=Episode 9=

Sneaking around all the time.

Secretly filming?

You got what?

Let me see.

Hand it over.

Buddy, you sure aim high.

You're back.

Have you eaten?

Enjoy your meal.

Xiaotang told me

that on the Horror Night at the bar,

someone pushed her into the river.

I was recusing myself then.

Do you know what happened?

Back then, Liu Ang's case hadn't been closed,

and Jiang Xiaotang was still involved.

Can you talk about it now?

That night, Jiang Xiaotang

was wandering around.

She said someone pushed her into the river.

There are no security cameras along the way.

Our tech team looked into it.

But they couldn't find any useful clues.

Xiaotang,

let's have dinner tonight.

I'll pick you up.

When you paint, don't be distracted.

Feel it with your heart.

How is it going with you and Jiang Xiaotang?

I've looked for her several times

and even sent gifts.

But it doesn't seem to work.

What you want is her forgiveness.

Does it really matter

how you get it?

I'll do my best.

I'll use whatever it takes.

This painting is a big improvement.

You know,

all good people have one thing in common.

They sympathize with the weak.

Do you think Jiang Xiaotang is a good person?

(Jiang Xiaotang)

(Sorry. The number you've dialed...)

Are you okay, miss?

Yeah, I'm fine.

Let's go to the hospital.

It's okay. You can go.

Thank you.

Then be careful.

Xiaotang.

Geezer Gu.

What happened to you?

Did anyone bully you?

No one bullied me.

I fell while skateboarding.

Let me see where got hurt.

Nothing serious.

You silly girl.

I was worried sick.

I've called you many times.

But no answer.

What did you do?

I was playing with my phone in class

until it died.

So I missed your calls.

Look at you.

Real impressive, huh?

Playing on your phone in class. Seriously?

I'm sorry. Sorry.

Don't just stand there.

Get on.

Stop pretending. Hop in.

I'm not faking it. I'm really in pain.

I'm in pain

and I can't endure this bumpy road.

Fine, get down.

I got an idea.

Hop on.

I'm not used

to you being nice like this.

I'm just looking out for you.

This moment

is so touching.

I feel like saying something from the heart.

Buy me an electric skateboard.

With that brain of yours?

You can't even handle this one.

An electric one?

You would probably fall on your bum.

When you graduate

and start making your own money,

you buy whatever board you want.

Right?

You're just stingy.

Can't you just get me one?

Push harder, Geezer Gu.

Full speed ahead!

Captain Gu, I was looking for you.

A letter for you.

Thanks.

I was about to get it.

You look all dressed up.

Another blind date?

You should marry yourself off quickly.

Just worry about yourself.

I'll get married before you.

(I've been watching you guys. X)

Captain,

I have something important

but nothing serious to tell you.

What is it?

Jiang Xiaotang is in trouble.

(Life has been so hard for you. Don't you want revenge? X)

Hello?

Who are you?

Are you content?

I just realized something.

How did you know

that she's in trouble before I did?

Jiang Xiaotang, you're really something.

You think you can hit people because your brother's a police?

He messed with me. He deserved it.

You've got some nerve, huh?

He bothered you.

You could've told the teacher.

Why resort to violence?

Jiang Xiaotang, did you cause trouble again?

He... He was following me! Secretly filming me every day.

Freaking creep!

A stalker, huh?

Hey, you! Why did you follow my sister?

But I won't hurt her!

I just... I like her.

Oh, look.

Li Qi.

As a man,

can't you even lift this?

Don't tell me you're already weak in the waist at your age?

Wang Qian, don't you have anything better to do?

If you're so capable, ace the next exam

like Li Qi and score a scholarship.

If you're so tough, lift it!

No, you do it.

Not bad.

After that day,

I just wanted to...

I just wanted to be around her

because she was so cool.

I admired her so much.

Listen.

Next time, speak up earlier, okay?

I'm sorry about that.

Sorry.

Great taste.

Great taste.

Students should focus on studying,

not dating.

Stop following her.

Do you know stalking

and secretly taking photos are illegal?

I only wanted to protect her.

You? Protect me?

How about protecting yourself first?

Xiaotang,

there is this guy who has been following you.

Following me?

Geezer Gu,

you scared me.

Let's go home.

Sneaking around? Secretly recording?

What did you get? Let me see.

Hand it over.

Buddy, you sure aim high.

Wanna hook up with Jiang Xiaotang?

What?

Are there more?

There's another time.

Miss.

Are you okay, miss?

Yeah, I'm fine.

Go to the hospital?

It's okay. You can go.

Thank you.

Then be careful.

Xiaotang.

Geezer Gu.

What happened?

Did anyone bully you?

I fell while skateboarding.

Can't you just get me one?

Go, go, Geezer Gu!

Full speed ahead!

Li Qi, what is this that you're taking?

Your photography skills are too bad.

Jiang Xiaotang, don't joke around.

So you went to warn Jiang Xiaotang today

but ended up getting beaten up?

But it's not her fault.

I just didn't explain myself well.

Too bad your photos aren't very clear.

All right.

I'll check the nearby security footage later.

Here.

Captain Gu,

could someone be trying

to get revenge on your family?

Li Qi,

can you send me those photos?

Sure.

You can send them to me.

I'll add you to my contacts.

Next time, just tell me directly.

Stop sneaking around.

Okay.

I won't do it again.

Ms. Shen,

Sorry for causing you trouble again.

I'm truly sorry.

Don't worry.

Well.

I'll take Xiaotang

home myself today.

And I will leave our brave student

to our brave officer.

He need someone to escort?

Of course.

Let's go.

You can get up now.

Come with me.

Geezer Gu

Stop looking all so serious.

Maybe a guy has a crush on me, like Li Qi,

and that's why he was following me.

Maybe.

You might actually be growing up

and catching the attention of all these boys.

From now on,

I'll pick you up and drop you off at school.

Really?

Don't joke around.

You won't have the time.

I'm a man of my word, okay?

Gu Zhen!

- Your sister. - Say something!

Sis,

why are you calling Geezer Gu this late?

Do you still have feelings for him?

Jiang Xiaotang,

you'll get yourself killed because of him if you don't listen to me.

From today, you're staying in the university dorm.

You can only go home on weekends.

Go pack your stuff now.

Gu Zhen,

you know exactly why my sister

keeps getting into trouble.

Do her a favor

and stop dragging her down.

I'm a university student.

Stop treating me like a child.

Geezer Gu,

I'll always stand by you.

Don't worry.

I will always support you.

Even my sister can't change that.

Listen to your sister.

Go pack your things.

You're giving up already?

Traitor.

(Life has been so hard for you. Don't you want revenge? X)

Someone was here.

He left a letter,

the same kind of threat as yours.

(Life has been so hard for you. Don't you want revenge? X)

But I don't seem to be his target.

Are you okay?

He already left

when I got home.

Harassing calls,

threatening letters,

and breaking into here.

That's enough for criminal case-filing.

Notify the team right now

to trace the phone calls.

It's already been filed.

We traced the number

as soon as we filed a report.

But we found no useful leads so far.

Have you considered

that Yin Qing fell in front of Jiang Xiaotang

might not be a coincidence?

(Yin Qing) Get out of the way!

Put the knife down!

Put your gun down!

Or I'll kill her!

That guy was probably after me.

I got home late

because someone was following Xiaotang.

But he didn't do anything.

No legal basis for an arrest.

But I already told Xiaotang

to move back into her dorm.

Why don't you...

I'm a police.

The fact that he broke in

means I can't back down.

Yin Qing

was thrown in front of Xiaotang.

The stalker

could very well be the one

who killed Yin Qing.

But who is this person?

Captain Gu,

are you worried about Xiaotang?

Should we apply

for 24-hour protection for her?

Normally,

police protection is only granted

to witnesses or whistleblowers in major cases

when a security threat is confirmed.

But in Xiaotang's case,

we don't even know what the suspect wants to do.

So it doesn't meet the criteria.

Besides,

I'm a police

and also her brother.

If I can't protect her,

who else can?

I think I know

someone who can.

My dad just retired.

Thirty years as a detective.

Let him keep an eye on Xiaotang

and make sure she's safe.

Wait a minute. This...

That doesn't sound right.

Just let him do it.

He's bored out of his mind.

He would either quarrel with my mom

or force me to go on blind dates.

Keeping him occupied

is considered saving my mom and me from misery.

Then please thank him for me.

Also,

we don't know who the suspect is yet.

We have to protect her in secret

to avoid alerting them.

Then it's settled.

Don't move.

You hurt your leg.

I'll get what you need for you.

That color.

This one?

I can't believe you.

You injured your leg

just to get me a cup of milk tea.

Be more careful next time, okay?

As long as you forgive me,

I don't care how many times I get hurt.

Take those words back.

Stop saying nonsense.

How's the painting going?

Want some fruit?

Thank you, Mr. Wang.

I'll eat after I finish.

Okay.

Your sketching basics are solid.

But you need to work on the color combination.

The overall saturation is too high.

If you tone it down a bit,

your work will be more refined.

But I like painting this way.

If I have to change my style

just for an exam,

I'd rather not paint at all.

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices

to achieve your goals.

Mr. Wang,

that sounds way too deep.

I only want to paint the way I like,

naturally and freely.

That makes me happy.

You're not obedient like Tongtong.

What did you say?

Oh, nothing.

You just remind me of a student

I had before.

Talented and hardworking.

But...

But what?

Excuse me, I need to take this call.

Geezer Gu, I'm painting right now.

What?

You sent someone to follow me?

Fine, fine,

whatever.

I've been feeling like someone's following me lately

and it's a little terrifying.

Okay, bye.

How about we call it a day?

Mr. Wang, I'm a bit tired.

I'll go first.

Okay.

You go ahead.

I'm leaving.

Bye.

Mr. Wang.

I did it.
