Captain Gu.

It's confirmed

that the knife we found is the murder weapon.

We also got a fingerprint from it.

The killer tossed it into the drain

but with the print remained?

We can only say it's the killer's bad luck.

The drain was an abandoned one.

It's very dry inside.

Did you get a match?

It belongs to Lei Wei, the bar owner.

(Lei Wei)

(Violent Tendencies) The suspect

thought he got away clean

by tossing the knife down the drain

without realizing there's a fingerprint.

(Fanfan)

(Improper Relation) Fanfan said

(Lei Wei. Love Rival. Liu Ang) that Liu Ang and Lei Wei were rivals.

Lei Wei pretended not to know Liu Ang well.

As of now, he is our biggest suspect.

Something about this still feels off.

Captain Gu,

there's a letter at the door.

I brought it in for you.

(I've been waiting a long time for you to catch me. X)

The killer sent this?

He's getting cocky.

Captain Gu.

We got the identity of the girl who took her life for Liu Ang.

Her name was He Xiao.

She was dating Lei Wei at the time of her death.

Anna!

Anna!

You sure this is the place?

Yeah.

Xu Dongyang, a big-time businessman,

actually lived here?

Coming!

We're from the Public Security Bureau.

We need your cooperation

in an investigation.

Come in.

Take a seat.

Did you hurt your leg?

Yeah, I twisted my ankle a couple of days ago

while taking out the trash.

Your place is really clean.

I'm only staying here temporarily.

But it's still home

nonetheless.

I keep it tidy

to live comfortable.

Take a seat.

Sit.

We're here to ask

about your girlfriend, Tang Xinxin.

To be precise,

ex-girlfriend.

What about her?

Is she scamming another guy now?

You two have broken up?

She only dated me

because I was financially suitable.

Once I lost everything,

I was no longer useful to her.

Of course, she left.

When did you break up?

About two months ago,

my company

was struggling,

and I had no choice but to declare bankruptcy.

My company declared bankruptcy during the day.

That night, she called

to break up.

Did you see her

after that?

I did.

I looked for her.

I told her

I'd work hard to make a comeback.

I asked her to give me time.

But it all ends up

with nothing.

Where were you at 3 AM

this morning?

I was asleep.

Is no one with you?

Officer,

look at me.

Who would still want

to be with me at 3 AM?

Be serious.

At that time,

I was on a video call with my dad.

We talked for

about 40 minutes.

Ah, yes.

(Call Duration)

(Call Duration)

By the way,

this place is a rental.

My landlord is picky.

So I'm careful with everything I use.

You should put that back where it was.

Aren't you curious

about what happened to Tang Xinxin?

I have no energy to care

about anyone in this state.

What happened to her?

She's dead.

What

do you mean?

Are you suspecting me?

Whatever happened to her

has nothing to do with me!

What?

She used me like an ATM and dumped me.

And now she's dead!

That's on her! She had it coming!

I'm in my 30s.

I worked so hard to build my company,

and now it's gone.

I don't even have time to grieve for myself,

and you expect me to grieve

for her?

This is just emotional blackmail!

Please calm down.

We only want your cooperation

in investigation.

Losing his company hit him hard.

He has given up on himself.

It's not just despair.

He is filled with resentment

and blames all his misfortunes

on Tang Xinxin.

If he truly believes she was the reason

for his company's downfall.

Then he has a strong motive for murder.

Did you notice he has obsessive tendencies?

You should put that back where it was.

Something about that apartment

doesn't feel right.

Lei Wei,

we found your fingerprints on the knife used to kill Liu Ang.

How do you explain that?

Why... Why would I kill him?

Yeah, I did like Fanfan before.

But that was a long time ago.

The bar was packed with friends who came to support me.

I was toasting drinks.

I didn't have time to deal with them.

Can anyone confirm that?

There are security cameras in the hallway and rooms.

Everyone I drank with can vouch for me.

Did you send a threatening letter to the police?

What letter?

What?

Am I that crazy

to threaten the cops?

Listen here!

If you don't start talking,

be ready for the consequences.

I swear, I didn't do anything.

I'm innocent!

You know He Xiao, right?

Her name sounds familiar.

Wasn't He Xiao

your girlfriend?

What does she have to do with this?

She killed herself over a year ago!

Before she died,

we had already broken up.

Her death has nothing to do with me!

At the time when she took her life,

she was dating Liu Ang.

If there's anything, it was between them, not me!

Relax.

We're only trying to get the facts straight.

That woman...

When we first got together,

she acted so pure and innocent.

Later, I found out

she used to date Liu Ang.

When they were together,

she wasn't shy at all.

She even went along with his video recording.

I even ordered a wedding suit

from K's shop

and was planning to propose.

But then Liu Ang sent me a video of them.

Then I realized she had been lying to me all along.

If Liu Ang could send a copy to me,

he could send it to anyone.

Tell me, what man could stand knowing

his woman had been with someone doing...

I couldn't take it

so I broke up with her.

I didn't expect

she would kill herself

two days later.

What's wrong with the fingerprints?

Normally, fingerprints are left on surfaces

because of sweat, sebum, and oils.

But when we tested the ones

on the murder weapon,

we also found traces

of adhesive

other than those usual elements.

What's that?

The glue from transparent tape.

Before He Xiao died,

did she act differently?

Did she try to contact you?

How is she connected to this case?

I know I didn't kill anyone

and I didn't send any letters.

I do hate Liu Ang.

I hated him for ruining my reputation.

But He Xiao

wasn't worth killing for.

There are plenty of beautiful women out there!

If you want to ask me something,

can't you stick to things that are related to this case?

He Xiao

was nothing.

Mister.

Yes?

Did a car accident happen nearby?

I didn't hit anyone.

Then did someone hit your car?

Now that rings a bell.

I parked my car here for the past days.

I didn't bother anyone.

Look.

Someone hit my car.

If I catch whoever did this,

I'll make them pay for the damages.

Qian, any new leads?

That stack of joss paper

was placed in the victim's mouth after death.

There are no struggle marks around the area.

I sent it to forensics for analysis.

No fingerprints were found on it.

It was wiped clean.

The suspect's methods were careful.

The crime was premeditated.

The victim had no visible bruising

on her face or neck.

The killer probably didn't suffocate her with hands.

He might have used a pillow, blanket,

or something similar.

Ms. Shen,

how's Anna?

She's stable now.

But she wants to talk to you alone.

Me? Alone?

Yes.

Okay.

Go inside.

Xiaotang.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry.

I'm sorry.

What do I do now?

What if she never forgives me?

It's all my fault.

I deserve this. I should just die!

That's enough.

Anna. Anna.

Enough. Listen to me.

Everyone has to face

the consequences of their mistakes.

You've tried to kill yourself

and died once.

So you've gotten your punishment.

Think of it.

You gave up the one you loved

for Jiang Xiaotang.

That proves

how much you care about her, right?

Yes.

That's right.

I love Xiaotang too much.

I love her so much.

That's why I gave my boyfriend to her.

But I don't want Liu Ang to hurt her.

I don't want to lose my friend.

What do I do?

That's enough!

Sitting here won't change anything.

You have to act.

Only with enough compensation

will the victim suffer less.

Right?

What do I do now?

What should I do now?

(Branch Commander's Office)

Captain Gu,

you've been watching footage for hours.

How about taking a break?

The DNA test results are in.

It wasn't Lei Wei.

Four, five.

What are you counting?

Jeffrey, one of the bartenders,

said five servers were working that night.

But there's an extra female server.

Here's the employee list from that shift.

So, are you saying

one of them is an imposter?

The killer could be a woman?

Possibly.

It could be a man in disguise.

Run a check on all the servers from that night,

especially the one who stayed close to Liu Ang.

I think I've seen

that ring somewhere before.

This person killed Liu Ang and framed Lei Wei.

The only connection between them was He Xiao.

That means our suspect

might also be connected to her.

(K. Tailoring Studio)

There you are.

Ke Hai, right?

Come to the station with us.

I knew this day would come.

But I didn't expect

that this day

would come so soon.

So you knew we were coming.

Your plan

seemed flawless.

But why did you expose yourself on purpose?

Some people

deserve to die.

And some people

are meant to carry

a lifetime of guilt.

This is a gift

from the most important person

in my life.

I wear it

so

she can witness everything.

Witnessing everything I've done

is the last gift

I give her

while I'm alive.

Our investigation shows

that you have an illegitimate daughter.

The person you keep mentioning,

is it He Xiao?
