quite like Kid Curry.

Then, almost by a fluke,

Kid Curry made the
newspapers in a big way

and sparked a giant manhunt,

the greatest this
country had ever seen.

It all began one night
in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Well, as I remember,
gentlemen, the bet was $10 a ball.

That means you boys
owe me $150 apiece.

Well, I don't recall
nothin' like that.

I mean, nothin' about
playin' for money.

we just shootin' for fun.

called the next hand.

In a few days,

there I was, heading
back to Knoxville

to start the hunt
all over again.

But my hunch was
as strong as ever.

Then they did turn up something.

A singer in a cheap bar,

who at one time had been
known as Cype Turner's girl.

Wasn't too much of a lead,

but it was enough to act on.

A few hours later, I was on
the rails bound for Colorado.

Girls like Jeannie Moran
weren't all entirely alike,

but I have found they ran
pretty much to a pattern.

She didn't look to
me like any exception.
