These are beautiful.

>> Thomas: Yeah, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but, um,

I think it's a good time to revitalize the line.

And to revitalize Hope.

I hope you don't mind, but I-I set a meeting in a bit

with the team.

Um... I want to fire them up.

I want to inspire them to be there for Hope.

I'm gonna do everything I can to get her through this.

>> Liam: Surprise.

>> Hope: Oh! Heh...

Um... What's -- What's all this?

>> Liam: Just a little romance.

What do you say?

A quiet meal for two?

>> Hope: Yeah.

Yeah, that sounds wonderful.

♪♪ >> Brooke: I'm so impressed with

Thomas.

Thinking about Hope and her needs, even after everything he

and Douglas are going through.

>> Ridge: Her needs, yes.

Uh, maybe his needs, too.

I don't think his interest in her line is entirely selfless.

>> Brooke: Well, he does benefit from having Hope For The Future

back.

And before Taylor left, she said that those two

would make a good couple.

She was right.

But not in the way that she was thinking.

As friends and co-workers, I think they make a good match.

>> Thomas: Emma, Tiffany, Simon.

I know you're anxious for an update.

>> Emma: Are we waiting on Hope?

>> Thomas: Uh, no.

She's not coming.

>> Tiffany: Is this a Hope For The Future meeting?

>> Thomas: It is.

And I'm glad we got the team all together.

>> Simon: Thanks, Thomas.

I was really excited when I got hired on, but I have to admit,

it's bee quite slow the past few months.

>> Tiffany: Hope hasn't been in much.

>> Emma: Not that we expect her to, considering.

>> Thomas: Yeah. Well, I, uh -- I plan to change all that.

Look, I realize that there have been a few bumps in the road

recently, starting with the budget concerns, and then with

Hope's loss.

But please, don't get discouraged.

This line is ripe for a comeback.

So let's put in the work, pool our talents, and give our

all to Hope For The Future and the woman behind it.

>> Liam: How soon do you want to eat?

We could -- we could eat now.

Uh, or we could wait a little bit.

>> Hope: Uh, yeah.

Let's -- let's wait.

>> Liam: Okay.

Is something wrong?

>> Hope: No.

I mean, it's nothing that you aren't already aware of.

Um, if you want to eat now, we can eat now.

I mean, it doesn't matter to me.

>> Liam: [ Sighs ] I want it to matter.

I-I want things like eating by candlelight and music playing in

the background, spending time together, I want

those things to matter.

Hey, listen. Listen.

We're gonna be grieving Beth for the rest of our lives.

That's not gonna change.

But it doesn't have to define us.

In fact, we could let it help us grow even closer.

A-and it will, if -- if you just allow yourself to be

open to moments like this, to enjoy things like this.

It's important.

We matter.

>> Sally: Wow.

Speech rallying the troops.

Felt very Spectra-like.

>> Thomas: [ Chuckles ] Well, I'll take that as a

compliment.

I got some sketches to get us started.

>> Sally: Hope For The Future?

>> Thomas: Yes.

>> Emma: These are gorgeous.

>> Simon: The cutting room is eager to get going.

>> Sally: Has Hope seen these?

>> Thomas: Yes.

Uh, I talked to her about it earlier, and she's so excited.

>> Sally: So it's really happening, then?

Hope's coming back full time?

>> Thomas: With the right amount of encouragement.

You all know how hard the last few months have been on her.

And, uh, well, she's still going through it right now.

But..

We can give her something.

Something to be proud of.

A reason to want to wake up and be excited to come to work

in the morning.

You know what?

Let's push forward.

Simon, get these to the cutting room.

>> Simon: Yes, sir.

Now we're talking.

>> Thomas: Ladies, get started on a social-media campaign.

>> Tiffany: Let's get that buzz going.

>> Thomas: Thank you.

>> Sally: Don't you need Hope's approval first?

>> Thomas: No.

The time to strike is now.

>> Brooke: Something I said?

>> Ridge: Hmm?

>> Brooke: You seem troubled.

>> Ridge: Not by you.

Never by you.

>> Brooke: Mmph. Never by me.

Well, "never" sounds like a long shot, but I'll take it.

What is it? Thomas?

>> Ridge: What makes you say that?

>> Brooke: Oh, I just picked up a vibe when he was in here.

>> Ridge: Little worried about him.

>> Brooke: Really?

I thought you'd be happy.

He seemed very enthusiastic about Hope's line.

>> Ridge: Yeah, you'd think that.

>> Brooke: What is it, Ridge?

>> Sally: Mission accomplished, Mr. Forrester.

>> Thomas: What's that?

>> Sally: Major employee morale boost right there.

You saw their smiles when they walked out of here, bursting

with pride to work on this line.

>> Thomas: I'm bursting a bit myself.

Getting back into Hope For The Future will be

therapeutic to say the least.

>> Sally: You're thinking it will be for Hope, too?

>> Thomas: Yeah, should be.

Getting back to work more.

>> Sally: Well, you're a good friend.

She's lucky to have you in her life.

>> Thomas: Well, it goes both ways.

I've been leaning on her a lot lately.

Can I talk to you about something?

>> Sally: Yeah. Anything.

>> Thomas: You sure?

It's just that, uh, well, we have history, and I, uh...

>> Sally: Did me wrong?

>> Thomas: Yeah.

>> Sally: Yeah. Well...

Lucky for you, I got over that.

What's going on?

>> Thomas: Well, I tried talking to my dad about this and, uh,

heh, that didn't go well.

Um...

There's a lot going on inside of me.

>> Sally: Well, yeah.

I mean, I can only imagine all the feelings that you're

processing.

>> Thomas: Yeah.

>> Sally: Look, this stays between us, okay?

I promise.

>> Thomas: I can trust you?

>> Sally: Yeah, I-I just -- I just promised. Yes.

Of course you can.

>> Thomas: What do you know about Hope and her

marriage to Liam?

>> Hope: Please know how much I appreciate you.

I mean, everything that you've done.

I just...

I'm just -- I'm not up for it yet --

>> Liam: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

You -- you get that all -- All I'm asking for is

spending time together, right?

Like, sharing a meal.

>> Hope: Followed by...?

>> Liam: [ Snorts ] Yeah.

Well, yeah, it's been a while.

And it's possible that would help us reconnect,

but that's not -- that's not the point of this.

>> Hope: Just...not yet.

I -- I want -- I want to reconnect with you

in that way, to be with you and to feel you, I just --

I can't risk it.

Okay, and it's not just not wanting to get pregnant

again or losing Beth.

It's -- it's also because I feel guilty about keeping you away --

>> Liam: Okay. Okay, okay, okay.

That -- see, that, you got to stop.

You got to stop acting like -- like you're the one keeping me

from my daughters.

That's not -- that's not what's happening.

>> Hope: Hey, Steffy and the girls are your family.

And now they are thousands of miles away from you.

>> Liam: Because of a business trip.

It's a business trip Steffy's on.

>> Hope: [ Scoffs ] Steffy took that trip

to create distance between me and the girls, and you know

that's true, Liam.

Especially with Phoebe.

And I don't blame her.

She wanted to do what she thought was best for me.

But it's not helping.

Okay? If anything, it makes me feel worse about keeping you

away from the girls.

I mean...

When is the last time you held your daughter?

>> Liam: Kelly's fine.

She's fine.

She's in Steffy's care.

You're -- you're the one who's suffering, Hope.

You're the one who needs help.

>> Hope: Stop.

Go be with them, Liam. Please.

They're your family.

>> Brooke: It is understandable that you'd feel that way about

Thomas.

What he's been through is -- is horrific, with Caroline.

It has changed his life forever.

>> Ridge: His life, yes.

His -- his life as a parent.

Not his romantic life.

>> Brooke: Yeah, that was a shock, to find out they weren't

a couple.

What do you think happened?

They were so good together.

>> Ridge: Well, sometimes people get interested in other people.

>> Brooke: You think it was another woman?

>> Ridge: [ Sighs ] >> Brooke: Maybe somebody

he was involved with before.

Sally?

>> Ridge: Yeah -- yeah, you know, I'm pretty sure it is

another woman.

But, uh...

I'd be willing to bet it's not Sally.

>> Hope: Go be with your girls.

Okay? I know you miss them.

>> Liam: Hope, Kelly is safe and cared for.

Beli-- believe me, if there were an actual need for me to be

in Paris, I would be on the next flight.

There isn't.

>> Hope: But you don't have to stay her out of

obligation for me.

Look, I'm an adult, okay?

I can take care of myself.

But Kelly and Phoebe are children, and they need

their dad.

So go.

Be the father that you and I never had.

>> Sally: What do I know about Hope's marriage?

Um...

I mean, the same as you, I'm guessing, assuming you've

been talking to Steffy.

>> Thomas: I've heard some from her, some from Hope.

>> Sally: Losing a child has to be extremely difficult

on a relationship.

>> Thomas: No doubt.

>> Sally: So why are you asking about it?

>> Thomas: I want to know your take.

>> Sally: [ Sighs ] Okay. Um...

Did you hear Hope took off her ring and insisted that Liam go

back to Steffy and the girls?

>> Thomas: Yeah.

She feels guilty.

>> Sally: Yeah, tremendous guilt.

>> Thomas: [ Sighs ] Do you think they can

work this out?

>> Sally: From what I see, it feels more and more like

maybe Hope isn't ready to.

>> Thomas: Wait, what do you mean?

>> Sally: [ Sighs ] >> Thomas: You can tell me.

I'll explain it in a minute.

>> Sally: I am under the impression that...

[ Sighs ] ...they haven't exactly

been together lately.

Intimately.

>> Thomas: Oh.

>> Sally: Minute's up. Explain.

>> Thomas: Okay, well, you know Hope and I used to be together.

>> Sally: Yes. Yes.

You had proposed to her.

But that was a long time ago.

>> Thomas: Right.

>> Sally: Wait a second.

Are you telling me...?

>> Thomas: Uh, look, I-I was just...

I've been spending time with her and Douglas lately, and

Douglas adores her.

And -- and she's talking to him about Caroline, and about Beth,

and...

I don't know. It just -- It started making sense to me.

>> Sally: Are you falling for her?

>> Thomas: Well, does it count as falling if...

>> Sally: If you never really got over her?

Seriously?!

>> Thomas: Well, yeah.

I mean... [ Sighs ] I've always loved Hope.

It doesn't take away from what we had.

But I'm seeing them now, and how amazing they are together...

And it works.

And I'm realizing that, yeah, I'm in love with her.

And...she's the one woman I never truly got over.

>> Brooke: If not Sally, then who?

Do you know?

>> Ridge: [ Sighs ] You know what, my -- my sweet,

lovely wife?

Sometimes it's better not to, um...

>> Brooke: Right. Yes.

The less we involve ourselves in our children's love lives,

the better.

>> Ridge: Mm-hmm.

I wish somebody told that to your mother once upon a time.

>> Ridge: Wow.

>> Brooke: [ Chuckles ] Thomas will be okay.

>> Ridge: Yeah.

And so will Hope.

>> Brooke: I know.

>> Hope: Look, I realize you want to stay in L.A. because

you're worried about me.

But everyone is worried about me, and I can't take it anymore.

Th-the looks of pity and concern.

I realize they're with good intent, but it is just a

constant reminder of my failure.

And -- and those worried looks, it just reinforces my doubts,

you know?

That...maybe if I had stayed awake that --

>> Liam: Okay. Okay, okay.

Let -- all right.

>> Hope: [ Sighs ] >> Liam: Let's run this out.

Okay. Let's say you're right.

That you could have kept Beth alive by not passing out.

I don't think that's true.

But I believe you that you do.

[ Inhales ] So now what?

How -- how do we move forward?

How do I help you recover?

How do I -- how do I help you forgive yourself?

>> Hope: I don't know.

>> Liam: I don't know, either.

I don't know, either.

But I'm gonna guess that the right answer is not

you pushing me away.

I should be caring for you.

I should be -- I should be holding you.

I should be loving you.

>> Hope: And I want that, too.

I want to move on and to live life and to be like the way we

were, but I -- I don't know.

My body is still in mourning.

I'm not ready yet. And...

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get over what happened.

>> Liam: You're not supposed to get over it.

Our daughter died.

That's not something you get over.

That's not how this works.

>> Hope: [ Sobs, sighs ] >> Liam: But you should

be able to let me in.

You should let me be the husband that you need me to be, the

husband that I -- that I promised you I would be

when we said our vows.

Hope, y-you -- you've...

[ Sighs ] You've been through this trauma

that could so easily tear us apart if we let it.

But I'm not gonna let it.

Do you understand?

[ Hope sniffles ] I can't.

We can't lose each other right now.

I'm not -- I'm -- I'm -- I would never, ever pressure you

into doing something that you're not ready to do, okay.

But...

I need my wife.

>> Hope: [ Cries ] >> Liam: And I kind of think

you need me, too.

>> Hope: I do. I do.

>> Thomas: I knew all those years ago -- I knew Liam wasn't

right for her.

And I think about all the heartache that didn't have to

happen if we had just figured it out back then.

But then I wouldn't have had Douglas.

And she wouldn't have had Beth.

And that's what's making this connection happen now.

Douglas is so lucky to have her.

And I -- I won't ignore that.

I can't.

Douglas is a child without a mother, and she's a mother

without a child.

It's meant to be.

>> Sally: "Meant to be"?

Thomas, take a breath.

>> Thomas: I'm not just talking about us.

I'm talking about my sister and the girls and Liam.

I mean, why should he only see his daughters part time?

And why should my child go without a mother?

A mother who's in need of a child?

I mean, Hope is traumatized, understandably.

After all she's been through?

And I'm not just talking about Beth, okay?

I'm -- I'm talking about Liam.

Years of trying to make it work with the wrong person.

She needs to get out from underneath him, underneath

the weight of this pain.

I'm doing this.

I am breaking up Hope and Liam.

He's gonna go back to my sister and their children,

where he belongs.

And Hope, she'll be with me.
