I was washing the car.

What are you looking so
concerned about, Rick?

- You know that letter
I got from Mary?

it has her address on it.

- Well, the thing to do is to
think back to the first time

you saw the letter and then try
and remember step-by-step just

what you did with it.

- That's what I've

Well, the little kid's
kind of broken up about it.

blame the poor kid.

- Well, if you hadn't have

the little girl's address.

Something about our house
having a curse on it.

- You know, Thorny and I
came up with an idea that

may solve this whole problem.

- You'd better solve
it in a hurry, Pop.

He said something about going to
the post office a little later

on.

- You mean to try and
find Mary's address?

- No, to find the Marine
recruiting officer.

- I think Ricky's a little
young to join the Marines.

- I don't think he
wants to join them.

He just wants them handy in
case something else happens.

- Say, maybe it would
help if we could

get Ricky's mind off this
letter business in some way.

- Yeah, if we can only find
a few other interests for him

until Thorny gets the
information we're after.

- Well, I can take
him to the movies.

- And I could take
him to the wrestling

matches and the fights.

- And it wouldn't hurt if I
baked his favorite chocolate

cake.

basketball with him.

He's always asked me
to play basketball.

- Well, the way
things are going,

I think I'll trade
places with Ricky.

- In other words, it's
agreed that we're all

going to pitch in and
keep Ricky occupied

is very clear there.
