The deal between UBA
and Hyperion founder Paul Marks

moved one step closer to completion
this week,

with UBA's board of directors
formally recommending

that shareholders vote on the sale at
the company's annual meeting next month.

Critics are calling the deal reckless,

And as a former employee of UBA,
I have to agree.

Should a billionaire
with an outsized aversion to the press

be handed the keys
to a legacy media company

at a time when truth matters
