But, Erin, we're talking about making a Facebook sock puppet account.

In order to help build a more secure Facebook account.

Now, first of all, why is Facebook sock puppet account?

Well, technically, we should be using a sock puppet account for any social media account.

And the reason for that is.

Having a sock puppet account or a burner account is essentially a safe way to do this investigation

because what we're doing in this investigation is we want an account that's really not associated to

us.

We want to make sure that counts fairly clean.

So again, if we're using our own social media accounts, we have tendencies, have different people

that we're friends with.

We're connected a bunch of different posts and whatnot.

And we don't want any of that during the investigation.

We want to use an account that's pretty clean and completely disassociated from us.

So the reason for this is if we're doing an investigation, people might not want to be found.

We might these people might look to get revenge on us and whatnot.

So again, a sock puppet account is a safer way to go.

So building a Facebook sock puppet account now, the old way used to be.

You hop on the Tor browser and you build your account.

That way, it's using a browser that really doesn't associate to your location, your machine and whatnot.

Or use a VPN or use a disposable email service like 33 mail or guerilla mail, or even use a service

like tax free.

Give it a bogus phone number and create your account.

Now, I do say the old way was using these methods, and I had to recommend as before, and he used

to use myself.

However, Facebook constantly does updates, including security updates and using these will get your

accounts banned and you might be able to get away with it for a little while.

Probably for a day or two.

And then your accounts are going to get banned.

So we want to make sure that we don't use any of these methods.

Don't use a Tor browser, don't use a VPN, don't use 33 mail real email.

Any of these disposable email services don't use these bogus voice over IP or text numbers or phone

numbers.

Again, you will get banned.

Facebook does a very good job about vetting these types of things, and it will find it right off the

bat when you create them.

So the current steps to take to create a sock puppet account for Facebook is use a dummy email, take

the time to actually create a real Gmail address.

A Yahoo MSN would have you create an email address.

Don't use your name.

Don't use a real password again.

Create a bogus email account with a legitimate email provider.

It helps to have a Facebook image I found in activity.

And we'll get into this in a minute and only use this account for ozone investigations.

So let's take a look at one method for generating data.

So this this website is called data fake generator dot com.

And this just really makes things a lot quicker when generating a fake account.

This could really help you fill out your your sock puppet account.

I find it useful that you spend time figuring out the name, location and kind of the background of

this, and honestly, that's more detail than you generally need to go into.

But depending on how you want to leverage that account you, this can come in handy.

And again, it just helps make make that Facebook account look that much more legitimate.

If Facebook looks at it or the individual you do, an investigation decides to check at your account.

So let's take a look how this thing works.

So again, I'm on the data fake generator.

And as you can see here, you can see like a country.

And you could select the gender, you can select your age range, and if you want just have the age

a certain age, you could actually just put in that that actual number here.

So we're going to do.

23 and 23, so we make sure that age just hits that number.

And you can click Generate.

And as you see here, it has a name and gender, age, birthday occupation address, zip code, state

country gives you a kind of a bogus email address so you can use again.

I wouldn't use it for creating a.

A Facebook account, again, Facebook's really good at finding this stuff here.

So.

Also gives you the password for your temporary email if you click on there, you actually can't get

emails there, but again, I wouldn't use it for the account.

It gives you a bogus phone number.

Bogus bogus card Yeah.

Again, your pin code, your height, your weight, your blood type, your marital status, your vehicle

make model year, serial number, zodiac sign and religion.

So again, it gives you a lot of details.

Now for the image, we could use this this person does not exist.

Dot com.

And what this is it.

It's a machine learning algorithm that takes all these different images from the internet and combines

it into a individual that really doesn't exist.

So if we keep refreshing this page, we could see all these random images of people that really don't

exist.

Now, the reason I like using this is one.

We could use this as a profile photo, and we don't have to worry about using someone's real photo.

This is a again a computer generated image that we're using for a profile photo.

So I personally don't feel bad about using this because I'm not, say, going on the internet, using

a person's real photo and saying, Hey, that's me, or this is my sock puppet account.

Again, this is just computer generated and all these random images based on machine learning.

So pretty handy.

And again, you can find that this person doesn't exist dot com and keep hitting the refresh, but until

you find an image that you want.

So these are different ways we can create a sock puppet account for Facebook.
