to Cestus lll and to come ashore.

You are one of two crafts in our space
on a mission of violence.

This is not permissible.

Yet we have learned that
your violent tendencies are inherent.

We will resolve your conflict in the way
most suited to your limited mentalities.

We have prepared a planet
with a suitable atmosphere.

You will be taken there with the captain
of the Gorn ship you have pursued.

- There you will settle your dispute.

so this contest may serve to dissuade

intelligent, highly advanced individual,

a dangerously clever opponent.

How about bypassing the transformer

Have we learned anything about
the nature of the force holding us?

No. They definitely emanate
from that solar system ahead.

of the starship Enterprise.

l'm engaged in combat
with a creature called a Gorn.

He's immensely strong. He's withstood
attacks that would have killed a human.

Fortunately he is not agile.

The agility and, l hope,
the cleverness, is mine.

The Metrons,
the creatures that sent us both here...

said that the surface of the planet
provides the raw material...

to construct weapons.

There's very little here -
scrub brush, rocks, mineral deposits,

but no weapons
in the conventional sense.

Still, l need to find one.

Bare-handed against the Gorn,
l have no chance.

There's little else l can do.

for a hand phaser or a good, solid club.

Yet the Metrons said there would be
weapons...if l could find them.

This is the U.S.S. Enterprise calling
the Metrons. Come in, please.

l am almost exhausted.

Unless l find the weapon the Metron
mentioned, l have very little time left.
